HOWEVER, I'm not sure if it was said that Kenneth's father was in his life the whole time but from what I've gathered about Sammy's parents was that their parents WERE together since some posts have talked about how much pressure they put on Sammy their whole life. It never talks about just Sammy's mom but it does imply that Sammy's parents were together the whole time that Sammy lived with them. Also, Sammy having four older siblings, I'm sure that yeah, their parents have stayed together.

Edit: Just found a post and it says that Kenneth's dad was absent most the time.
