i know it’s all just jokes but i think we should fr stop acting like the people around us don’t have inner lives. “npc” becoming an acceptable term to call people is very disturbing to me like genuinely idc if it’s not that deep…. plus the new phenomena of calling things you find no substance in “coworker music/movies/etc” like i get the conceit of the joke but i think when you refer to other people in that way consistently, you start to genuinely become convinced that people are just there to fill the background of your life, that they don’t have hobbies or families or lives beyond what you perceive, and that’s so bad. that’s sooooo bad to think of people

oda was so so so so crazy for being like ‘as soon as luffy heard zoro’s name he knew he was meant to be his first mate (and he was right)’ and ‘zoro’s only knew luffy for a couple weeks before declaring he would never lose again for the king of the pirates’ and ‘zoro lowkey prioritizes luffy over his lifelong dream (what’s great ambition if you cannot protect ur captain)’ and would go to hell w him’ and ‘luffy blushed at the sight of his swordsman and even separated days/weeks will say it’s been a long long time since they’ve been together’ and signing off on the opla script of “did I disappoint you? / you could never fail me” “I need you” and luffy holding zoro’s hand to his heart

May I just say... Colin Morgan's background stage business is impeccable. There are so many actors who just stand there watching or aimlessly shuffle around, but I've noticed that when Colin Morgan is in-character, he is in-character.

I haven't watched him in anything other than Merlin, but when he's not the focus of the camera, he's still doing things just as Merlin does. Like, trying not to laugh during the feast when Elena was visiting and displaying poor table manners, actually looking deep in-thought and mouthing the name 'Alice' when Gaius was talking to him about her, glaring at Gwen from the bedpost when she was enchanted and was monologuing about who could have possibly poisoned Arthur, polishing or doing a chore or keeping his head down when Uther's talking to Arthur but still watching them with a keen eye-

and so many more instances! His background stage business is just amazing.

not gonna lie this one is really easy😭😭 absolutely Gwaine. like no one else it could be.

this one is trickier to find parallels with?? because while as characters they are extremely similar, their actual stories are really different... but let's see what we have:

noble/royal?? person?? (wtf do u call Sokka😭) travelling the world

father disappeared to go to war

uses humor as deflection

put their whole lives on pause to help the main character (Sokka expecting to lead the Water Tribe, Gwaine's lone traveler act)

both actually extremely smart and skilled when it counts but dumb in little situations

arguably the main character's best friend but valid arguments otherwise lol

loyal to the end even if they try to act aloof!!

I can’t believe how many people miss this, but all four of Zuko, Azula, Mai, and Ty Lee are massive teenage assholes who are only ever sometimes nice to their in-groups.  People completely mischaracterize Zuko and Ty Lee as “nice” since Zuko is presented sympathetically and Ty Lee is “girly” and “silly,” but they’re ever bit as big jerks as Mai and Azula are.

jetko is such a funny concept to me. they are loser4loser, freak4freak. the gaang seeing them would be hilarious in general but none more-so than katara. imagine being katara and seeing them together. how would it feel knowing you’re spit sisters with your nemesis? your nemesis who bagged the dude you liked and now serves in a tea shop while his bf beats up cops. she’d see them holding hands and spontaneously combust. breaking news: the two worst people you know are dating. if i were her i’d fall to the ground.
