still chugging along on Lost

just finished 3x08 and HOLY SHIT. This shit is getting fun. I'm leaning toward this whole thing being a shared psych ward delusion. There's definitely a theme of being trapped, in a sort of purgatory without understanding.

Knowing Damon Lindelof is a huge Twin Peaks fans I've been looking for some kind of easter egg and I feel like dropping a building on a man with red shoes being a very obvious Wizard of Oz allusion in 3x08 is the closest, because Lynch always puts a zillion Wizard of Oz references in his work. otherwise, the other Lynchian thing is that this story feels wholly original.

I have considered that this is also some kind of cosmic prison? Like most of these people have, to put it mildly, checkered pasts. Even our hero Jack the doctor has a deeply troubling history of making out with patients/their families. It seems like some kind of punishment is being meted out.

My favorite character is Sayid because he's hot and also I like how over everyone's stupid shit he always looks. Also the way he looked at Shannon made me WIBBLY. Second favorite is Locke but dude needs like, someone to hold his hand so as to not get scammed by people holy shit lmao his backstory is like, a Nigerian prince scam gone nightmarish. Getting conned out of a kidney is legit urban legend shit. But I like how he had such FAITH that not entering the numbers into the computer would be FINE, just like he had faith in his father and faith his hitchhiker buddy wasn't a UC cop.

Not entirely feeling the love triangle between Kate-Jack-Sawyer lol but it almost feels incidental? I just don't care which one Kate would rather make out with sorry

anyway I'm loving the ride. have had this song in my head the whole time, a delightful ditty about seducing your girl by asking if she would like to watch Lost:

pet peeve: when people describe food as "rustic"

that word does not have a remotely appetizing connotation for me? It's like, conjuring up a dusty log cabin for me. I imagine the food in this cabin to be of the hot dogs and beans variety, and I would still not want it to be called "rustic"
