The moment I realized that the past didn’t define me and that I am not the mistakes I’ve made was my first taste of actual freedom. I have no control over what happened in my past but I do have control over what I become tomorrow. I am human, therefore I am not perfect, never was and I never will be. I am human, and I am alive, therefore I am learning and growing. I’ve made a lot of mistakes in the past… and I’m sure I’ll make a few more in the future. But mistakes are for learning and growing. To learn about what’s right and what’s wrong. To learn about another person. To learn about yourself. To learn about the world. Mistakes can teach you to become a better person, to be kinder, braver, more loving, patient with others and yourself. Mistakes can teach you about yourself, where you need to heal and grow. Take the time to learn the lessons hidden in the pain of mistakes and let it fuel your growth as a soul. So that you can actively shape who you are tomorrow, little by little. You have the power to do that. You can taste the freedom that comes from realizing that your today is filled with second chances to be a better person than you were yesterday.
