late as HELL but thank you @yourlocalcringydaydreamer for tagging me literally months ago. jesus.
last song i listened to: cycles - s-ilo + hussain ali
favorite color: blue! mostly deeper shades. i'm really into neon colors right now, especially blue and pink
last movie: rise of the tmnt! comfort movie <3 with SUCH delicious colors omg
currently watching: nothing consistent- i've been in a weird space mentally, so i'm just watching whatever sounds good at bedtime!
sweet/spicy/savory: i'm a big fan of flavors In General, so like, all of them HJKFHJKD. but if i had to pick i'd go sweet!
relationship status: single!
current obsession: i'm kinda all over the place right now, kinda just bouncing between interests. b u t i have been getting into gifmaking again and thats nearly an obsession atp. consuming photopea tutorials by the fist full.
last thing i googled: "macguffin" to see if i was spelling it correctly. google was conflicted. some people say it's a mc. some say it's a mac. i decided to go with mc because it was one less letter to type.
zero pressure tags!!: @red-hood-redemption, @stevebabey, @magicalbeanie. hope y'all are well <3

cold hands
jason todd x gender neutral reader. 789 words. notes: i started this in december i swear it was seasonally appropriate at the time warnings: n/a
he scooped your hands into his own, cupping them together and bringing them to his face smoothly.
he caught your eye with a small smirk. you knew him well enough to know he wasn't really smug- he was looking for your reaction, a silent is this okay wrapped up in his confident expression. the large, colorful lights strung across the shop front you had stopped in front of were reflected in his eyes, but he was focused entirely on you.
you slipped your thumb out of his hold and ran it over his own.
jason took it for the invitation it was and exhaled heavily over your frigid fingers, looking down to them.
you, though? you kept your gaze right where it was.
he was beautiful, you thought. a strong jaw and handful of faded scars were contrasted by the softness of his eyes, his red (garnet, you remembered him saying with a little self-aware grin, not red- that was a work color, and you weren't work) knit hat bringing out the green in them. he was bathed in an orangey-pink from the décor behind you, and you almost wanted to pull a hand back to take a picture.
almost.
"i'm buying you some damn gloves," he muttered without heat, laughter buried in his tone as he gently massaged your fingers.
"and put my personal hand warmer out of a job?"
"he's creative. he'll find another one."
you let out a small huff of laughter, the sound turning to fog between the two of you. you pulled your hands out of his grasp- earning a raised eyebrow- and pushed forward to take hold of the front of his jacket, gently pulling him into kissing range.
as always, he adapted almost instantly. "see?" he asked quietly, his palms finding your hips. "a new job opened up pretty quick."
"shut up," you mumbled fondly, pressing your lips to his.
the warmth in your chest absolutely erupted, the sweet, familiar feeling of his lips- of his presence- making your heart and mind go the same sugar-sweet shade of pink.
"i love you," you pulled back to whisper firmly, grip tightening on his jacket just to give some of the oomph in your veins somewhere to go.
you felt his chuckle under your fists and against your lips, like the bassline of your favorite song with the dial all the way up, rattling through the floor and into your ribs and threatening to turn you giddy. "i think that means i'm doing alright at my new job."
"you're doing wonderfully at your new job."
not much would be worth opening your eyes from such a spell, but you found that his smile made the list: crooked and fond and beautiful and somehow it was aimed at you.
"think i can clock in for another shift?" he asked lowly, playfully, sending another wave of butterflies through your system. they left quickly, replaced by a feeling of belonging, of home, of peace.
"yes," you answered simply, trying (and failing, judging by his little laugh) to keep your eagerness under control. "you should."
so he kissed you again, holding you close. sheltering you from the chill of gotham in the dead of winter. reflecting warm lights onto you and chasing shadows away. turning every beautiful, poetic thought you'd ever had about him into something literal and visible and tangible and not having a single clue.
--
so he kissed you again, basking in the affection in your eyes and letting it warm him straight to his bones. begging his mind to save the image of you bathed in orange and pink and magic, looking at him like he was even close to that kind of beautiful, tugging him towards you like there was nowhere else on the planet you'd rather he be.
and he tried to hold you as softly as you deserved, bringing a hand up to cup your jaw and tilt your head slightly and cherishing the way you immediately, confidently leaned into his touch like you trusted him to keep you upright.
it felt like someone cracked a glowstick where his heart should be.
no- that was too vivid, too harsh. this was like a candle, warm and steady and breathing and alive. this was something to look to in the dim and the dreary, something by which he could read; something to warm his hands over, something to turn to when the storms rolled through and the power failed and left him in the dark.
you were something to turn to in the dark.
he decided, then and there, pressed against your coat and your lips and your warmth, that you were getting the nicest gloves he could get his hands on.

Compilation of Gaza Direct Aid Resources
Gaza e-sims: an initiative to keep Gaza residents & reporters on the ground connected despite the targeted communication blackouts.
Ground initiatives: those are groups of people with the resources and ability to distribute aid in ad-hoc fashion to those most in need. Small scale groups like this are efficient in their crisis response and some are willing to put their lives in danger to push aid to hotspots like the north of the strip. + @careforgaza (twitter) + @gazadirectaid (twitter) + @ahelgaza (twitter) + PiousProjects feminine hygiene kits
The PCRF: Palestine Children's Relief Fund is an independent and reputable organization with 30+ years of service for Palestinian children.
UNRWA: The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East, established in 1949 to support and pay reparations for Palestinian refugees whom are denied their right of return (most of Gaza residents at the moment). This org was recently defunded by your usual colonizer suspects, in an illegitimate attempt to put pressure on the UN after ICJ/CIJ ruling that recognized Palestinians as a distinct ethnic group in plausible threat of genocide.
Daily Click on arab.org: a NGO that collects interaction revenue and sends it to multiple other orgs in support of Palestine

eSims for Gaza lists very clear instructions on how to purchase e-sims to keep them connected, they are urgently in demand
Here is a project that distributes feminine hygiene kits directly to Gaza
Mutual Aid Diabetes has channels set up for you to donate insulin and medication to diabetics in Gaza, as well as lists fundraisers for diabetics seeking to evacuate

Simple things you can do right now to support Gaza if you can't strike by staying home from work/school
queue posts about Palestine to regularly post throughout the week to keep them visible. Check tags like: #strike for gaza, #free gaza, #ceasefire now. I'm going to share posts from Bisan and other Palestinians on instagram.
don't spend money on nonessentials. if you didn't have time to prepare for the strike and still need to get groceries/medicine/etc, get it now to prepare for not spending the rest of the week! striking for even part of the week is better than not participating at all.
read bit.ly/StopGazaGenocide, this is a document put together by the US Campaign for Palestinian Rights (USCPR) with lots of good information and graphics and link to art you can freely use to spread awareness. There is also a link to email your representatives to urge them to stop supporting the occupation and the email is pre-generated! it took me one minute to send emails!
email your representatives that you are striking for Palestine!
keep talking about Palestine. keep reading about Palestine. keep caring about Palestine. If you make even one person pay attention, you've done good work! keep going!
Do what you can! Doing ANYTHING is better than doing nothing.

There is still hope. Say it out loud. Palestine will be free. The Palestinian people will celebrate their culture and heritage with each other. We will love and be loved. Do not fall into the trap of despair.

silent reader here, i love, love, love your stories (maybe a bit exaggerated ;-;) especially "stoplight, stop bright" (really like how you end the fic "you were a better view than the road ever was" & for that it holds a special place in my heart) 🤗
hope you continue writing stories!! 🤩🤩
hey, lovely!!! thank you so much for such a sweet note- this made my day :) stoplight, stop bright is one of my favorite pieces, actually!!
i hope so too!! i've been on a bit of a comics hiatus due to irl stuff + other interests, but i'm hoping to get back into reading them (and writing about them!) in the new year :)

I’m just here to remind everyone once again that we can’t stop protesting and boycotting and spreading the word for Palestine, even if it’s been a while. The people in power (mainly the Israeli and US governments) are relying on us losing steam.
And I do want to mention that a small bit of hope to be found among all of this is that things aren’t losing steam. I still see dozens of posts about Palestine every day, I see footage of protests almost every day, and the boycotts are working. I just want to encourage everyone that we just need to keep it up! I’ve seen so many social issues fade out over time, a week of outrage and then things settle down, but that isn’t the case here and I really respect everyone who’s still posting and protesting and seeking out information to end this once and for all. Focus on that hope, and use it to keep going :)

I really do think an important component of activism is to make sure your motivation is based on a desire to help/improve things for the people being harmed by a system, and not hatred for the ones doing the harm. both for mental health reasons, and because either way you're training your neural pathways and it's gonna turn out a lot better for literally everyone if the question on everyone's mind after achieving a goal is "how/which people can we help next, what's the next step for improving things" and not "who do we need to attack next."
I'm not saying don't be angry, there are a lot of good reasons to be angry right now and it makes for an excellent kick in the pants, just don't define yourself by it or it's gonna poison you and potentially do collateral damage.
