this idea makes my heart all warm and fuzzy.

Noah's anxiety was really bad this particular morning.

You woke up to find him sitting outside in your backyard with his headphones in and eyes closed. You didn't have to see his phone to know he was listening to the calm app.

But with the way his chest was rising and falling and how fast his knee was shaking, it wasn't helping.

Bad Omens were about to head overseas for a long list of festivals and Noah had been stressing over it for the last couple of days because he wanted to make sure everything went perfect.

So, after putting together a plate of Noah's favorite sweets, you slipped outside undetected and slowly wrapped your arms around his neck from behind.

You could physically feel the stress lift from his shoulders.

"Deep breath in. Hold for five seconds. And long breath out," you whispered when you took out one of his headphones.

Noah nodded and did what you said.

One breath in.

Hold for five seconds.

But you could feel in the way his body shook that it wasn't helping so you sat in his lap as he sat on one of the patio chairs. With your hands cupping his cheek, you forced those dull almond eyes to stare up at you.

"Focus on me," you breathed.

Noah's bottom lip trembled as he shook his head in your grasp. "My chest feels like it's about to cave in. It hasn't been this bad in so long."

You ran your hand through his hair, scratching lightly against his scalp; something you knew he loved.

He almost began purring like a cat.

"I'm right here, just focus on my voice," you began reciting a poem you knew he loved and one you memorized.

By the time you finished, you felt the shaking beneath you stop almost completely.

Noah wrapped his arms around you and breathed in your familiar scent.

"I'm glad you're coming with me angel," he muttered into your neck. "I don't know how I'd get past this without you."

You kissed his forehead. "It's what I'm here for, love."
