Continuing to chronicle my 20 years of making art... I've been interested in surfing since the Hardy Boys Mysteries episode where they go to Hawaii! Growing up as a kid in Columbus, that beach lifestyle held enormous mystique for me. Later on, Kem Nunn's Tapping the Source became my favorite book -- and North Shore (1987) my favorite film. And my first novel is set in the Great Lakes surfing scene!
I started by drawing surfers in oil pastel - and that led to painting, and one of the largest galleries on my site: https://christopher-stanton.com/section/7303-Surfers.html

Continuing to chronicle my 20 years of making art... I've done dozens of collaborations by mail with other artists! I've had so much fun with these - and they've given me so much creative motivation to keep going. (Pictured: "Hi Jake" with Scott Michael Ackerman.)
Tons more collaborations here: https://christopher-stanton.com/section/23531-Collaborations.html
