My best friend forced me to watch some GI Joe and here's a few insane things that happen in it:
Baroness is so upset over Destro talking to another girl that she burns down his entire family inherited Scottish castle, and he keeps her because she's a catch
The villains are fed up with Cobra Commander being an inept shit, so they create a new guy made up from the DNA of history's greatest monsters, and are surprised when he turns out to be an asshole
In the obligatory drug episode, Duke's brother and one of the rando villain's sister both get addicted to a made up drug. The villain is very concerned, gets official sick leave from the bad guys, visits her in the hospital and promises her his support no matter what. Duke, the good guy, on the other hand is so upset at his brother for having a drug problem that he basically disowns him and shames him, telling him he's no longer his brother. A real american hero right there
The drug episode ends with the drug manifacturer dying and exploding and a shot of his mangled hand with giant red letters on screen saying "DRUGS KILL"
They meet a shirtless guy shooting a commercial in the arctic who asks them if they're his camera team. He teams up with the Joes and we never see his actual camera team so I guess they died
Cobra Commander is revealed to actually be a snake person in the movie, it's incredibly bad
There's a guy named Snowjob
The entire show is disgustingly Too American, like you'd think that's obvious, but it's even more American than you'd initially think
The animation sucks and that's what kept me going, very funny
Ah this old scene. It's even dumber when you see the fight play out between Quick Kick and Snake Eyes. He drops these weights from his body and it cracks the wooden floor. He then proceeds to explain it rather than letting the scene speak for itself because who ever heard of "show don't tell". Shit Naruto did this better with the fight between Rock Lee and Gaara. Hell, it's been done in anime many times better. The worst part is while Quick Kick and Snake Eyes are having a dick measuring contest Duke is out doing work and gets captured by Cobra. It's a disgrace to all characters involved.
They’ve turned sweet boy into selfish rival of Snake Eyes😢😢😢
This Helldivers 2 PSN drama has me so bummed out. A great game’s reputation is in the mud because Sony wanted to pad out their PSN sub count to show to their stupid fucking shareholders. Company’s like Creative Assembly make account-linking optional, but give you an incentive to do so such as giving you free legendary lords for Total War: Warhammer. All Sony had to do to avoid this whole shitstorm entirely was by giving players a free weapon or some armor if they link their account. Guaranteed most people would link their accounts and people who live in countries that can’t even make PSN accounts can still play. Corpos are such fucking morons, goddamn.
Making GIFs for class. Decided to put a spin on loading screens. As a gamer at heart, I’ve always been interested in how developers handle loading screens, so here’s the first part in a series.
"A cishet person must have made this, no queer person would ever portray queerness in this way."
"This artist must be white."
"No SA victim would ever handle the subject in this way."
"No woman would ever write women like this."
"This creator is obviously neurotypical. Everyone with autism/ADHD/depression understands-"
Nope.
People who make these blanket statements are very frequently proven wrong when the creator comes out as a member of that group. And even when they aren't proven wrong, even in cases where the creator isn't from the group in question, actual members of the group who don't fit whatever arbitrary criteria are being expressed will see these statements and feel excluded and erased.
Not everyone in your group is going to share your experiences. No single individual gets to personally decide what does or doesn't count as a "valid" expression of trauma or being part of a particular group, and creators are also not obligated to out themselves in order to "prove" their validity.
If something doesn't resonate with you, all that means is that it doesn't resonate with you. You don't have to like it. But you don't get to decide what it means to someone else.
