River is demigender bidemirose.
- What do their labels mean to them?
River uses the pronouns he/they, strongly preferring they. Bidemirose means bidemiromantic bidemisexual and they are proud about those.
When/how did they realize they were arospec?
They knew very early they were bi, but they realised they were demi as well when they were 14. They couldn't relate to love songs, had no idea how a human could be "hot", had to pretend they were having crushes on people at school they had never talked to - when they had no clue what a crush was in the first place!
They were feeling very alienated, especially as they already had strong feelings for Kit, whom they were feeling emotionally connected to. Looking for answers on Internet helped them finding the term demi and thus, feeling better.
Are they in a relationship of any kind? If so, how does their aromanticism impact their relationship?
Yes, they are in a romantic relationship with Kit Jackson. River's demiromanticism has helped bringing deeper their feelings for Kit, and the latter has learnt to see River in a new way, and to truly connect deeply with them.
How do they feel about romance in general?
River is fine with romance. Romantic gestures are appreciated, but they wouldn't like being showered with.
What are their favorite and least favorite parts of being arospec?
Their favourite part is the deep emotional connection they create with someone else, as in with Kit.
Their least favourite part is the inevitable alienation that goes with being arospec in this society.
Have they come out to anyone? If so who?
They came out to Kit, Austin and Mandy.
~ How did they react?
Mandy has been super supportive. Austin got puzzled at first, but ended up supporting River after several long conversations to understand better what it meant to be demi. As for Kit, he has been very sweet about it since River came out to him. They had many discussions per his initiative to learn more about it and, ultimately, do his best to make them feel comfortable in their relationship.

No, River doesn't any other arospec people.

~ What do their labels mean to them?
Kiira's pronouns are they/them. As an agender, they consider themself as a human being. Nothing more, nothing less. Being demigrey means to them that they very rarely feel attracted to someone, but it might happen after they have deeply connected with someone.
When/how did they realize they were arospec?
They realised they were arospec only when they were 21 years old. They had heard the terms demi and grey before but had never taken the time to look further into them. When they did, it felt like they could finally breathe.
Are they in a relationship of any kind? If so, how does their aromanticism impact their relationship?
Yes, they are in a relationship with Trystan Thorne. Being arospec has forced Trystan to be more serious about their feelings for Kiira and to be honest about these feelings.
How do they feel about romance in general?
They are fluctuating between romance-indifferent and romance-favourable.
What are their favorite and least favorite parts of being arospec?
Their favourite part is that it makes them feel like there's a level of depth in the relationship that isn't necessarily there in allroromantic relationships.
Have they come out to anyone? If so who?
Yes, they have come out to Trystan, their uncle, Marguerite, Rose and Luke.
~ How did they react?
They reacted positively. Trystan has been asking them a lot of questions. He has first said it was making sense, considering their attitude towards him and his romantic gestures. Then, he came to them with a lot of questions, because he wants to understand how they see the world and the relationships.

No, Kiira doesn't know anyone else who's arospec.

Jordan is demigender pandemiromantic pandemisexual.
~ What do their labels mean to them?
Jordan uses the pronouns she/they with a strong preference for they. Being pandemirose is important to them. They love people, but need a strong emotional connection to maybe develop feelings for someone.
When/how did they realize they were arospec?
They knew pretty early that they were pan, but didn't have the word to express it until they were 12. They were 13 when they found out they were demi. They couldn't relate to their friends having crushes and thought they were broken for not experiencing the same. So, they ended up looking on the internet why they never had any crush on anyone. They stumbled upon the term demi and realised that nothing was wrong with them.
Are they in a relationship of any kind? If so, how does their aromanticism impact their relationship?
Yes, they are in a romantic relationship with Michael Harrison. Michael never had any issue with Jordan being demi, as he himself needed more time to get to know them, but for different reasons. Also, it has helped them to become extremely emotionally close. They are each other's best friends and love each other's company so much.
How do they feel about romance in general?
They enjoy romance and they feel lucky to have met Michael, because he enjoys showering them with romantic gestures, always when they don't expect it.
What are their favorite and least favorite parts of being arospec?
Their favourite part is to be able to enjoy romance and thus, not feel completely alienated by the society's standards.
Their least favourite part is when people forget that they are arospec and treat them as if they were alloro. It hurts them.
Have they come out to anyone? If so who?
They came out to Michael, their father, Myra and Emma.
~ How did they react?
They all have been supportive and encouraging. Jordan knew that they would have positive reactions, which encouraged them to come out to them.

Myra Khandaar is aegoromantic. She enjoys the idea of romance, but doesn't want to participate in romantic activities. She lacks of romantic attraction, as she has stated.

Pirjo defines herself as roseromantic rosesexual.
~ What do their labels mean to them?
Being roseromantic means that Pirjo likes the idea of romantic activities and romantic attraction, but becomes romance-repulsed after some time. Same thing with being rosesexual.
When/how did they realize they were arospec?
She couldn't understand this on going pattern of starting a relationship with someone to then becoming repulsed, and wanting out of the relationship. It was making her feel sad and horrible.
After what happened with Hayden, she decided to do some soul searching and looked for answers on the internet. The roseromantic rosesexual terms came up after countless researches, and she finally understood that she wasn't alone.
Are they in a relationship of any kind? If so, how does their aromanticism impact their relationship?
No, she is single, due to her orientation.
How do they feel about romance in general?
"It's fine until it feels absolutely disgusting."
What are their favorite and least favorite parts of being arospec?
"Is there anything great about being roseromantic? Wanting to be in a romantic relationship until it feels utterly disgusting?"
"Hands down being roseromantic because I keep breaking hearts and it makes me feel like a monster. Breaking Hayden's heart was a traumatic experience for him but also for me, because I really loved him until I felt nauseous about all this romance. I think staying single is the smartest thing to do."
Have they come out to anyone? If so who?
They came out to Hayden first to make him understand that it wasn't his fault at all, that he hadn't done anything wrong. Then, to Nadia and Steve.
~ How did they react?
Nadia has been extremely supportive. Steve supported her as well. For Hayden, although he understood he hadn't caused the end of their relationship, it was still a tough pill to swallow. He had strong feelings for Pirjo and he couldn't make them disappear by snapping his fingers. He is still not over her but it is hurting less and less, little by little, day after day.

No, she doesn't know anyone else who's arospec.

~ What do their labels mean to them?
It means to her that she can develop feelings for a woman when she feel a strong emotional relationship with her - but there's no garantee. She isn't strictly asexual, she can sleep with someone because she's sex-favourable, but it's on the rare side.
When/how did they realize they were arospec?
She was 15 when she realised she was demiromantic. She fell on an article on Internet by chance that was describing what being demi was. It was exactly her experience.
Are they in a relationship of any kind? If so, how does their aromanticism impact their relationship?
Yes, her girlfriend is Eleanor Waverley. Hanna's demiromanticism has allowed them to become emotionally tight-knit. They are each other's best friends.
How do they feel about romance in general?
They are romance-favourable.
What are their favorite and least favorite parts of being arospec?
Her favourite part is that it helps her building a very solid foundation for a romantic relationship.
Her least favourite part is feeling being pushed aside by alloromantic people when they are projecting their own experience on her.

She came out to Eleanor, Victor and to Kaitlyn Liao.
~ How did they react?
They have been supportive. Eleanor has asked questions to understand better what it meant and how it would shape their relationship.

Edelmina is demialterous. When there isn't any precision, demi means demiromantic demisexual, or demirose. Demi belongs to the secondary attraction. Alterous attraction belongs to the tertiary attraction. Both attractions put Edelmina on the aro spectrum.
~ What do their labels mean to them?
Demi means that they need to feel a strong connection with someone before maybe catching some feelings for them. Alterous is the strong urge to feel emotionally close to someone. It's not fully platonic, but not fully romantic either.
When/how did they realize they were arospec?
They were wondering why they couldn't relate to others' experiences, so they researched and found these two terms. They were such an excellent fit that 16 years old Edelmina finally felt understood.
Are they in a relationship of any kind? If so, how does their aromanticism impact their relationship?
Yes, they are in a relationship with Donovan Navarro. Their aromanticism impacts the relationship a lot. They aren't too much romantic gestures, but the emotional closeness is high and strong. There's a lot of conversations about what defines the relationship, since Donovan is alloromantic and always wants to understand better how Edelmina feels about their relationship.

How do they feel about romance in general?
Absolutely overwhelming. They are not repulsed but romantic gestures are quickly overwhelming. Their threshold is low.
What are their favorite and least favorite parts of being arospec?
Their favourite part is that they will not be falling in love at first sight. It makes no sense to them and they are glad it won't happen to them.
Their least favourite part is that being demi means being dismissed by people who will tell them that demi is the norm, that it's a common experience, which isn't true. And being alterous means being accused of trying to be a snowflake, that it's either romantic or platonic feelings, that it can't be anything else.
Have they come out to anyone? If so who?
Edelmina came out to Donovan, quite obviously, as well as their friends Stevie Sun, Tyler Woods and Joanna Morgan.
~ How did they react?
They have been very supportive and have asked questions to understand better what it exactly meant. Edelmina and Donovan have regularly conversations about it, as it plays an important part in their relationship. He doesn't want to make them feel uncomfortable, but he will sometimes slightly and very gently poke to check how they feel about something. He does this only because Edelmina asked him to do so. Edelmina tries to determinate their threshold regarding how much romantic things they can bear. It's a learning experience for both.

Tyler Woods is arospec. More specifically, he is reciproromantic.

I am so so so sorry that these prompts are going up so late. To make up for that I am going to extend the dates a bit longer than I originally planned. The event will run from Sunday, February 18 to Wednesday, February 28.

not exactly aro related but I've always been curious, how does liyah pick out her clothes? How has her sense of fashion evolved over time? (Because I remember like the One fanart Rose made of Liyah in this green shirt thingy with the fishnets and I was obsessed ever since)

okay so liyah absolutely went through the emo phase and has since evolved from there. for shows, she tends to go more costume-like, usually lots of bold sparkly and noticable colors. in her off time, she goes WAYYY more comfortable. more of a boho style, muted but lots of colors, comfy soft loose clothing. she used to try to find a middle ground of that, like a little more dressed up and elevated, but shes stopped giving a fuck by now lol. and before it was pretty much always monochrome clothes, but shes come to love the neons and bright colors
Does Bryce have any specific songs that resonate with his experience?
okay so this song really seems like it has nothing related to it at all but originally (in my first fic that doubles as my bryce is demiro fic) the song i used was the shining by the neighbourhood. now im telling you the lyrics dont actually connect to being demiro, but its the vibes. specifically the line "so ill just paint it chrome" in reference to the narrators heart "always being broken." now i could explain it forever but instead im going to shut up and just give you the link to the fic. no pressure to read it but the deep dive is in there

it was way harder for him than he wanted to admit. again, the better explanation is in that fic, but there was just always something off. like he just never,, understood that urge to jump into a relationship. he felt like he barely knew the people and just went along w a relationship even though thats not what he wanted. its actually a huge part of his backstory (in my hc) that he never really had a solid group of friends bc he never felt that he truly connected with them. sure he could chat w them about some things, but there was always this invisible barrier that he never felt he could get over. something just wasnt clicking

Nyx & Nyssa
Before I settled on Nyx, Nyssa was another possible character I created to romance Aerin. I really love Nyssa's design so I want to incorporate her into Nyx's world.
Nyssa is Nyx's best friend and one of the people they consider family (chosen/found family). Nyssa is one of the only people from their childhood that Nyx still talks with after they were shunned for their skin mutation which the elves thought proved they were cursed and led to Nyx's parent's deaths.
Nyssa is the opposite of Nyx. She is vocal, flirty, very affectionate, falls in love quickly, has a lot of brief flings. She is also pansexual though she prefers strong women (both in personality and physically.) (Nyssa might be part mermaid, I haven't figured out how that would work yet.) Nyssa is enthusiastic, eager to please, and optimistic.
Nyssa had a crush on Nyx as they were growing up. Nyssa tried to pursue a romantic relationship with them. Nyx enjoys the physical aspects of being with Nyssa but never felt any romantic connection despite really wanting to. Nyssa helps Nyx find out they are aromantic (and later demiro). Nyx feels like it's one more thing that makes them different than expected and withdraws more but Nyssa refuses to let them do that. Nyssa is very protective of Nyx and will call out anyone who tries to hurt them (even if it's Nyx themself).
Nyx treasures their friendship with Nyssa. They are the closest of friends... and occasionally friends with benefits (no romantic attachment).
