#tagged for me #Spring onions are the freshest onions and also the most likely to hang out in the back of your garden unnoticed. #Alliums! #This IS a Saness-ism but you're also about to be subject to flower-talk. #Alliums are VERY stubborn. Did you know that elephant ear garlic flowers FULLY smell like the garlic bulbs beneath the soil? #It's a good indicator of flavor! #Some of the really purple ones will retain their color when baked on top of bread and they make for such a pretty garnish. #A lot of alliums are really pretty but their savory scents often keep them from being considered in traditional flush bouquets. #They show up in other bouquets though!
