While I should be working on commissions my brain is like "hey, do you remember your Witcher OC?" ... and well... I dug out a snippet I once wrote for an idea with a tiny cameo of @mimikoflamemaker's OC Neve ... and I have nothing else to share right now and I don't want to seem too idle... so here it is, a snippet without context with my Witcher sorceress OC Terese (whom her friends just call Ese...)
******************************
As the heavyset man finally vacated the seat opposite Eskel, the young sorceress seized the moment. Though slightly nervous, Terese refused to let this opportunity slip. It was now or never. Her friend Neve gave her an encouraging nod as she spotted her from the bar and a small burst of confidence, though shaky, bolstered Ese's resolve.
Eskel's furrowed brow greeted her as Ese took the seat opposite him.
"Eskel, good evening," she greeted him with an open smile.
"Is there something you need?" Eskel's response carried a weariness that tugged at Ese's heart. Her smile faltered ever so slightly.
"I don’t… no, I just wanted to talk to you," Ese began, her gaze flickering nervously towards the bar where Neve now conversed with the barkeep. Her confidence wavered, but she forced her smile back. "It’s been a while since we last spoke."
Silence hung heavy for a moment as Eskel stared into his empty tankard and heaved a sigh.
(… some time later ...)
With frustration boiling over, Ese slammed her palms onto the table, rising to her feet. "Why are you like this?" Her words echoed through the suddenly silent tavern, drawing all eyes to them. Eskel remained seated, his gaze meeting hers, but he said nothing.
"Is it so hard to imagine that I find you desirable, that I want you and not Geralt?" The coins she threw down for her drink clinked against the wood as she stormed out, leaving a stunned silence in her wake. Eskel pinched the bridge of his nose, feeling the weight of Neve and Geralt's disapproving stares bearing down on him from the bar.
Outside, Ese halted her hurried steps, frustration giving way to a heavy sigh as she buried her face in her hands.

I binged Fallout on Prime over the weekend... and now I feel in a "Fallout" mood again and remembered this sketch fom 2016... so I dug this one up again in my oooooold posts ;)
Anatomy issues aside I still like this piece (the placement of MacCready's arm is weird and his hand ... oh well).
And I would have sworn my OC's name was June Winter... oh well... seems it was McArthur? XD
Tumblr media
I had to squeeze this in inbetween commission works… because *gasp* I could sketch something for myself! 8D
June McArthur and Robert MacCready in a fluffy random about to kiss moment. Mac just undid her hair … and ah! I am just so happy I could sketch them :3
And while I sketched them I realized that June is 7 years older than MacCready *cough* XD She’s 29… apparently (according to the Wiki) MacCready is 22…

It seems like it wouldn’t be impossible to sell a small edition of artbooks … that means I will go forward with the project/idea. 💕
Hey everyone,
I'm considering putting together a small "artbook" featuring my creations, and I'd love to hear your thoughts! So I want to gauge the interest before diving into this project.
Tumblr media
(Here is a mock-up of what I am thinking... XD)
Would you be interested in owning a small artbook showcasing my work? It could include sketches, finished pieces, and some behind-the-scenes insights.
Let me know by voting below:
Please note that if I move forward with the project, the estimated cost would be around 15€ (including international shipping) and I would be aiming for a release in late 2024.
Feel free to drop any additional comments or suggestions in the comments section or DM me.
Your feedback will help shape this project, and I'm excited to hear what you think!

After being together for 10 years now, Celume and Galaren deserved a small celebratory illustration. Galaren belongs to @mimikoflamemaker and is the dashing elven commander from her amazing LotR retelling "Journey of Oaths". Celume belongs to me and somehow the two met 10 years ago and shared their first kiss in February 2014... so now, 10 years later, they are still together and I love these two lovebirds way too much.
@mimikoflamemaker, I hope I did your boy justice and I hope he doesn't regret that he approached the stubborn archivist back in the days ;)

I should be working on other stuff… but I had an unexpected sick day today and couldn't do much else than sit around… so I followed the newest "James Julier Art Tutorial" and then decided to add a character into the illustration.
It didn't quite turn out how I hoped it would? But then it was really a rushed thing to begin with and I am still quite happy with the overall result…
Background was mostly done in Procreate following the tutorial. I made some adjustments and tweaking in SAI 2… the character was also added in SAI2. The character is really no one in particular… 🤷‍♀️

My dream was always to „publish“ a small artbook. Now that I looked into it I must say that even a tiny edition (10 to 25, brochure binding) is not as expensive as I feared. (Though I am not sure I could sell 10 to begin with 😅)
But I still might look into it and make it my 2024 project. 🤷‍♀️

Squeezed this in between commissions, art trades and overdue giveaway pieces *cough* What is time management? (Virgil continues to have horrible hair ... it's always a pain to draw... seriously, I should have stuck with Scott as my favorite... he has the easier to draw hair...)
Also... Virgil and my OC Samantha demanded I jot down a tiny scene...
-------------------
As the grandeur of the soiree unfolded around him, Virgil found himself suffocated by the swarm of eager faces, all vying for his attention. He would need to talk with his brothers. Abandoning him in the hour of need was unforgivable. With each step, he felt the weight of expectation pressing down upon him, the burden of being one of the most sought-after bachelors of the season becoming increasingly unbearable and annoying. Desperately seeking solace amidst the chaos, he slipped away from the crowded ballroom and into the tranquility of the gardens. The moon cast a gentle glow upon the lawn, illuminating the delicate blooms that adorned the pathways. Breathing a sigh of relief, Virgil wandered deeper into the labyrinth of shrubbery, his steps measured as he sought refuge from the prying eyes of society. Finally, he found himself in a secluded alcove, shielded from view by a canopy of ivy. Leaning against the cool stone wall, he closed his eyes and allowed himself a moment of respite and took a deep breath. The sounds of laughter and music drifted faintly through the air, but here in this secluded sanctuary, he was free of expectations for a brief moment. Lost in his thoughts, Virgil was unaware of the figure approaching until a soft voice broke through the stillness. "Darn… you found my hiding spot before I did." Startled, Virgil turned to find a young woman standing before him, her eyes sparkling with curiosity and her face framed by pretty brown hair, curled up and held together with hair pins the shape of flowers. "I was merely seeking some fresh air," he stated with a chuckle. “But if I invaded your hiding space, pray forgive me.” He bowed slightly and was about to leave when she shook her head. A smile tugged at the corners of her lips. "Well, perhaps you wouldn't mind some company? I just intended to sit here and read. You’re welcome to stay." Virgil looked at the young woman as she took a seat at the bench and pulled out a small leather-bound book. She smiled at him once more before she turned her attention to the book and the silence that settled between them was not unpleasant.

I won't take down the last sketch post... but I feel like I butted into a conversation without anyone asking for my random input. For that I apologize. I should be old enough to be more aware of what I am doing and to be more considerate of others and that it's not my place to just enter random conversations.
Won't happen again. Sorry!

There was some "Regency!AU Tracy" chatter going on today. I only noticed on the sidelines because the ancient piece of Virgil with that horse was dug up and what I read amused me in a good way (and today I needed nice things, it was a frustrating day at work)...
But yeah... while I have no time for a larger random picture these days (I have a few deadlines for other pictures) I at least wanted to contribute with a random messy sketch of Virgil and Scott (whom I think would be some kind of naval officers in a Regency setting - which explains the random epaulets). Also, no claim whatsoever on historical accuracy of the outfits. Far from it!! (They are not super recognizable, I am aware... it's just a sketch after all and I just wanted to jot down the vague idea.)
It might actually be a scandal for the two most eligible bachelors of the county... duchy... (whatever) to hide from their guests to discuss some random naval strategy instead of making the ladies swoon while dancing. And I am sure the two are great at dancing. Perfect courtly manners to flaunt...
Anyways. This was a nice exercise and managed to distract my brain. Now it's back to commissions and the art trade that's due soon.
