"You're Tao's new roommate? " Curious eyes scanned the newcomer who was going to be living in with her from this point on. He doesn't look like a bad person at all, despite the fact that he's dressed funny.
Tumblr media
"Nuu, Tao probably won't mind. As long as there's food "
Newcomer [ Marth | Tao ]
Marth had hoped that this was all a dream. So it wasn’t.
He was dead.
The prince closed his eyes briefly, placing one hand on the doorknob but not opening it. The realization had been shocking, a few hours ago… but now, all he could muster was a numb sorrow. There was so much he had to do - so many things left undone. And the illness had taken him.
He opened the door.
There was some movement within - he recalled an imp stating that he was to have a roommate - and it was…
… a girl? Except not exactly - she bore some resemblance to the Laguz of Tellius, but he knew better than to assume.
He stepped in, smiling faintly. “Ah, I presume we are to share this residence? I hope you do not mind my presence.”

It wasn't long before Taokaka's stomach rumbled,  as if to remind the cat girl that she hadn't eaten since she had arrived in Sh'tori. Realizing that, Tao knows that she eventually will have to find something to eat. But where? And without Good guy around, who was going to pay for her meal? As if to answer her question, a shrill cry could be heard from down the street, causing Taokaka jump up in surprise. Curiosity overtook her hunger for that moment , and she heads over to the direction of the sound, which eventually led her to Miminit's karaoke bar and Tavern . As she got closer, she notes the sign that was hung up outside the tavern. And instantly noticed the two magic words that had perked her interests.
Free food.
For a moment, Tao was ecstatic over her luck . But she frowns as she quickly realizes that she has come upon an obstacle in her resolve to obtain free food in the form of having to sing in pairs.
Tumblr media
" Tao can't sing, but I can't give up free food.... Oh , But Tao doesn't know anyone who can be my partner as well nya...." Tao glances around, hoping to find someone, anyone really ,who could possibly join in on this venture. She then notices that at least one other person had been studying the sign as well. Figuring that person probably has some interest in joining as well, Tao decided the best course of action was to ask that person .
Tumblr media
" Hey hey, blue guy. Are you planning on joining in well nya? "
[OPEN] So much for cats having nine lives
Lack of money had never been a problem in life as she was always gainfully employed; worries of starvation haunted the least of her concerns when Naoto placed memories of her life back as far as she could remember. Much unlike today, whereupon the detective came to a realization that she lacked an ample number of ‘trikhids’, Sh’tori’s currency, to relieve her own appetite for lunch. In the steps she’d taken in the lively streets of Sh’tori, she lifted her gaze to discover a sign posted just outside a moderate-sized building, indicating its name in large letters: Miminit’s Karaoke Bar and Tavern.
“LIMITED TIME OFFER: SING FOR TRIKHIDS!
We might even WILL give you free food if you catch our attention with your voices.
Requirement: Must sing in pairs!”
Tumblr media
The thought was considered; in life she may have marked this event to be among her mental list of frivolities that she needn’t waste time on. But in her current state she was at a disadvantage; unemployed… Hungry. And this event offered ways to relieve her of the consequences of both problems, if only temporarily. With her now growling stomach she felt inclined to concede, but who would she invite? Neither of her friends, Rise or Garrus, were here at the moment, and neither was she likely to, or particularly confident in her ability to sing, either. Besides, participating in this event for the sole reason of being rewarded with small attainments of food and trikhids would require an individual to lower their pride a little — or perhaps that was only true for the young detective. She felt one would at least have to be afflicted with a considerate amount of desperation to willingly participate in something like this…
As if providing an answer, a shrill cry that she could only guess (or perhaps not. She hoped not) was an attempt to accompany the faint sounds of music from the front building blasted from the speakers. Shards of glass were shattered across the floor as a result, alarming a large number of Sh’tori’s citizens around and outside the area. The detective winced. Destruction of public property caused by the sound of one’s voice. Her eardrums would be sure to suffer from that in the long run, too.

While Tao loves it when people give her free food , you can't really say the same the other way around; Unless you happen to be good friends or family, she won't enjoy the idea of sharing her meal to say, a complete stranger. But If there was one thing that Tao hates more than the idea of sharing her meal, it would be unwanted people stealing her meal. Which leads up to the current situation on hand; Tao running down the cobbled streets of Sh'tori, her sights set on an imp who thought it would be a good idea to steal Tao's lunch just as she was about to dig in.
Tumblr media
"Gimmie back my meat!" she shouts, slowly gaining up to the trouble maker, and when she finally does catch it, oh boy there will definitely be hell to pay for attempting to messing with Tao and her food.   And she was oh so so close to catching it too , but one loud cracking sound and Tao trips, landing face first into the ground much to the glee (and relief) of the imp, who quickly disappeared into the crowd, along with the precious meat that Tao will probably never see again.
Tao sits up, distraught that she had lost the meath thief. But the grief didn't last long however, as her attention was then directed to her feet, where the remains of the game console she had stepped on just now lie (not that she knows what it is exactly, but she's going to assume that it's not something tasty eitherway).  Her ears picked up the sound of someone wailing in despair. Curious, she focuses her gaze from the broken pile of towards the source of the wailing, a demon who  looked like he was crying over the very thing she stepped on. Oh.
Tumblr media
" uu , I don't think crying over something that doesn't look remotely tasty would do any good to you pointy man"
Game Over [Open]
peeeo peoo
        whoosh
                 blam blam…..
Mao had forgotten that he had carried his video game console, the Slaystation Portable, within his pants pocket; finding the apparatus only a few days ago. Now there was more enjoyment added onto the dull Sh’torian life; minus the time he spent reconstructing his experiments, that was beyond fun. “Hehe….400,000,000 hours of playthrough here I come!” the mad scientist exclaimed as he smashed the various buttons on the console, animating the game character and taking part of the plot.
His determination to surpass his previous amount of hours played did not stop him from daily duties, despite it darkening the circles under his eyes. There was always a way to multitask with two, three or even four things at the same time, and besides he’s Mao, the boy was a pro at this. Some could and should rejoice at this distraction, for he had moderated the itch to grab strangers and experiment on them.
The young demon had his video game in hand, playing quietly as he strolled around the cobble stoned streets of the massive city, completely sucked into the electronic.  It wasn’t long however before he was sprawled upon the ground, pushed by some tricky imps whom were now chuckling to themselves. Those accursed creatures, he’ll have to get them back later.
From the fall, the system slid a distance away from him; relief washing over the demon as he knew that the game was safe from harm. Placing both palms on the rocky surface, Mao lifted himself up, sending glares towards the tricksters. Ohh he had perfect plans for them as revenge—Wait what was that? The resonance of a crack sent red optics back to where the SSP was.
Tumblr media
“Ah!” Someone had been careless and stepped over the prized Slaystation Portable. He couldn’t believe it. All of the hard work already put into the game was gone. It was almost a deja-vu all over again; was his system destined to be crushed?  ”M-my….game!” Words couldn’t even form as realization came through. It was game over.

[OPEN] So much for cats having nine lives
The first thing Tao realizes as she comes to her senses is that she's no longer in Kagutsuchi. Well this is just fantastic. She doesn't even recall how she had come to be in this strange place. The last thing she had recalled was she had been trying to save Good guy from impending doom before green guy 'knocked' her out. And now here she is, sitting down on the pavement looking at the small imp (where did that thing even come from?) that was explaining to her the current situation that she was now in.
Now if Tao had been paying attention to what the imp had told her, she would have probably realized by now that she was now pretty much dead. But even if she was, there were more pressing matters that distresses the Kaka over the fact that she's now dead and stuck in place unfamiliar to her.
Tumblr media
"So If good guy isn't here, then who's gonna feed Tao now nya?." She says rather dejectedly, worried that the only person who gives her free meals wasn't anywhere remotely close to where she was (even when he was against it most of the time).  The imp was tugging at her sleeve now, motioning her to get up on her feet and follow it to her 'new home' as it had implied. Tao obliges, but several minor distractions later had caused her to lose sight of the imp amongst the crowds. Not that it had mattered to Tao at this point, as she has gone back to her usual self and is now immersing herself with the unfamiliar sights that peaked her curiosity.
