Sally, She/They, 30s, queer AF butch, professional (???) artist. I mostly scream about movies right now, sorry not sorry, but also hmu for a rec I guess,
people are always like "why did you know to do that? how did you know my name? why did you know where we would be? why are you so calm about--" SHUDDAP and ask me about the 40+ Pringle flavors i've tried while stuck in this time loop. i've had so many and i have opinions
It's very similar to The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974), but in swamp and with more uncomfortable sexploitation. Lots of screaming, lots of overlapping noise, a big fake alligator that this weird guy claims is a crocodile.
At last, she's back. I did stop talking about how much I missed my art quilt seal wife, while she was gone at the art show, but I still missed her. Apparently she had a nice time and got lots of compliments. And now she's back, and like, it's just so nice to see her again.
Back on my bullshit, which - today - is 1970s horror. Oh, actually, I was thinking about 70s horror while I was on my drive to pick her up today.
Where is this red light coming from, did we need to make this motel of the damned creepier.
Yes, squish your child until she stops screaming about her recent trauma.
I kind of wish more of these people would get Eaten Alive.
Oh hey, I actually saw a scythe at a thrift sore today, lol

as a lesbian my shameful crush is tom cruise. i think it's mostly a competency thing tbh. and i think he'd be a calming presence during a crisis
Tom Cruise? Calming? You think Tom Cruise would be calming? A calming presence? Tom Cruise? Competency? You think Tom Cruise is competent? Tom? Tom Cruise? Calming? During a crisis? Calming? Tom Cruise? A calming? Presence? Tom Cruise? You think during a crisis Tom Cruise would calm you down? Tom? Tom Cruise?
Holy shit, the exploding head effect. I've seen clips of it, but in context, it's so much better.
The story is complex without being convoluted, and that can be a very fine line to walk. The mystery of this is so engaging, and - of course - the themes feel very prescient.
I think it was on Random Horror 9, where they were talking about Cronenberg, and how so many of his films are so of their moment, but while saying something about it that feels True 5-7 years later, which feels very accurate with this one. What a good time.
Today in "suggested articles that make me feel insane" I was suggested one about, like, why not to throw away your physical media. Truly and article I could write in my sleep. Like, I don't currently have a way to play my dvds, and it has never occurred to me to get rid of a one of them, Jesus Christ, are you serious. And that's not even considering the obscure titles that aren't on streaming, like where can I watch Allegro Non Troppo (1976)??? Hmm? Or Cemetery Man (1994) before it went on Shudder? "Oh, that's such a rare title" yeah, well not if you tracked it down on dvd in 2007, you techno chauvinist.
This was a hashtag Tech Hack, by the way. Tech Hack: keep your shit if you own it. Fucking hell.
Speaking of shit that I own in some fashion, I digital-dvr'd this off of hbo back when I had that. Highly recommend the digital dvr.
Scanners (1981)
Back on my bullshit, this time it's David Cronenberg.

about to say something mean but i feel like every "male-specific" issue is something that also happens to women its just that a lot of you dont seem to see women as people
