The Iranian Regime is going to execute rapper Toomaj Salehi for supporting protests of Jina Amini’s murder by the regime in his songs.
Iranian activist Elica Le Bon says, “Iranians in the diaspora picked up on the fact that the regime tends not to execute people who become known to the international community. We have seen many examples of prisoners that were either released on bail or had their sentences commuted through our “say their names to save their lives” campaign on social media, using hashtags to garner attention for their causes, and even before social media existed, through getting the stories of political prisoners to international media outlets. Once reported on, and once the eyes shift to the regime and the reality of its pending brutality, realizing that the action is not worth the repercussions, we have seen them back down and not execute. For that reason, this is part of an urgent campaign for readers to talk about Toomaj as much as you can, using the hashtag #FreeToomaj or #ToomajSalehi. Every comment makes a difference, and if we were wrong, what did we lose by trying?”

I understand that there have been talks about an Israeli invasion of Rafah and I understand how absolutely catastrophic that would be for what is potentially the most packed area in the world, but I just want to point out that it feels like everyone is anticipating with fear a potential assault on Rafah whereas attacks and airstrikes are already happening and in fact they never even stopped for over 6 months now.
Keep talking about Rafah and keep talking about Gaza. There are absolutely no "safe zones" in Gaza and there never have been.

I got an ask from someone who felt timid about drawing curlier hair and wanted some advice! This is by NO means exhaustive and is mostly just my thought process for my own stylization. There are tons of resources for drawing more textured hair, so for this I just wanted to focus on curls. hope it helps!

I hate hate hate hate how dog friendly everything is in the city now. Barring medical necessity, there is no reason to bring your dog to a restaurant, there is no reason to bring your dog to the grocery store, there is no reason to bring your dog to the nail salon. Dogs do not need to go everywhere you go why am I being forced to be around dogs all the time

Shakespeare Weekend
This weekend we explore Shakespeare’s comedy, The Two Gentlemen of Verona, the thirty-sixth volume of the thirty-seven volume The Comedies Histories & Tragedies of William Shakespeare, published by the Limited Editions Club (LEC) from 1939-1940. The Two Gentlemen of Verona is believed to be one of Shakespeare’s earliest plays, written between 1594 and 1595. The story is heavily inspired by Montemayor’s pastoral romance The Seven Books of Diana (1559) and was first published as a play in the First Folio of 1623.
French artist Pierre Brissaud (1885-1964) illustrated The Two Gentlemen of Verona with his chracteristic water-color drawings. Brissaud came from a family of artists and followed in their footsteps, training at the École des Beaux-Arts. He found great success in creating Art Deco prints for advertising firms and fashion magazines including Vogue. Brissaud was drawn to The Two Gentlemen of Verona for the challenge of capturing the city’s stunning architecture and ambiance and his work does not disappoint. In Brissaud’s water-color drawings, the characters play out their scenes against intricate architectural details and immersive landscapes. Atelier Beaufume reproduced Brissaud’s drawings for publication using actual watercolors resulting in the velvety colors appearing as if they glow upon the page.
The volume was printed in an edition of 1950 copies at the Press of A. Colish. Each of the LEC volumes of Shakespeare’s works are illustrated by a different artist, but the unifying factor is that all volumes were designed by famed book and type designer Bruce Rogers and edited by the British theatre professional and Shakespeare specialist Herbert Farjeon. Our copy is number 1113, the number for long-standing LEC member Austin Fredric Lutter of Waukesha, Wisconsin.

HELPGAZACHILDREN!!!!!
Med @fairuzfan’s blog got terminated by tumblr which is obviously unjust for all the people who rely on them for resources on Palestine, but it now leaves Hussam’s helpgazachildren donation drive without a point of communication, and has deleted all previous information Med had shared about the drive.
Please remember to keep donating to helpgazachildren as Hussam’s hard work getting resources to families in Gaza should not have to be hindered while Med is working on getting their blog back 🤍🇵🇸

Depressed thoughts:
Honestly I can understand why romeo and juliet would kill themselves for each other. Both their families were horrible immature idiots that kept a feud going for years without really understanding why or remember what the reason for the start of said feud was for. Killing tons of innocent people and dragging others into it. Of course the chance for a bit happiness is something they would jump on. Of course they would hold tight to it and not let something like death stop them. What exactly else did they have? Juliets only friend was her nurse who was paid to take care of her. Romeo' friends and parents constantly made fun of him for hating the feud and having thoughts filled with nothing but love. Juliet was being sold to a man way older than her so her parents can have connections to the prince. Romeos parents never personally talk to him about any of his issues. They sent his teenage cousin to handle it. They were two teenagers with shitty fucking parents and had shitty lives and the only bright spot they had for a long time was each other. Of couse they would fight to keep it. So not even death could separate them.
(Don't like don't read. Post hate and I'll block you)

I'm NOT gonna say it again
SEASONINGS include herbs and spices, along with minerals and chemicals used to season food!!!! Salt, citric acid, and MSG, are all examples of seasonings that are NOT herbs or spices!
HERBS are flavorful leaves. Only. Leaves. Doesn't matter if its dried, fresh, whole, or ground, if it is a leaf, it is an herb
SPICES are flavorful parts of plants that are NOT LEAVES. These include seeds, berries, stems, bark, roots, flowers, buds... NOT LEAVES
THANK YOU

This bloodbath has gone on for far too long. At the start of this aggression, the school year had barely just started. The academic year ends in just a month. Everyone, from first graders to university seniors, have lost an entire year at least. I say at least considering even if there is a ceasefire today, Israel had destroyed literally all universities in Gaza and damaged over 400 schools. Lest we forget also Israel's deliberate targeting of university professors and academics.
You absolutely cannot mistake the intent behind all of this.
