So Decarabia cut straight to the chase. This was hard to answer.
"... I went with what my own judgment deemed best. The path of God and the path of Lucifer... they were both imperfect in their own ways."
Flynn's voice remained quiet and calm, not betraying any hint of emotion.
To be torn between god and demons is a never-ending cycle of suffering. Only the void will give respite - the salvation that all men secretly crave from within the depths of their souls.
And after all is said and done... it will be time to cease his own existence.
crossing swords;
"Oh? Thankfully you know that much. If that’s the case, then..who did you go with in the end?"
It wasn’t Him after all, that’s a relief. At the same time, the two clearly can’t possibly see eye to eye, though Decarabia can’t quite place exactly why that is so. Gut feeling was one thing, but reason was another; to ignore one might back the demon into a corner it wouldn’t be able to squeeze itself out of. The enemy is strong, very strong, that much is true. The only other humans who chose the path of a demon were the Demifiend and Abel, and they too, wield unimaginable power. If this human has gone so far down that path, even a mere scuffle may prove fatal.

Flynn closed his eyes for a moment.
"God's path brings only pain... to let him have his way would be to doom the world to suffering."
He fixed the demon with his emerald gaze. "No, I did not go with him. I struck him down. He is no more in my home world."
A pity that you, too, bring plague and disease... Enslaved to your own wild desires, you, like all demonkind, waste away the purity of humanity's hearts. To bring salvation to this world, you will have to be erased.
But not now. His work was not yet done.

"Yeah? Then what might it be? Did He put you up to the task?”
Perhaps this Flynn did side with the angels after all. There was no other alternative; if he walked the path of chaos or neutrality, he should have no business in an alternate timeline. But he does, and who other than God himself would want to pull the strings in such a way that another extraordinarily powerful human succumbed to His demands?
"I can’t believe you went with Him. Disgusting."

Your face?
So the demon accompanying him was sensitive. Explaining the reason behind his technically demonic origins would prove prickly. Careful to keep his tone quiet, he tried to phrase his words in a way that would not provoke further hostility.
"This is my face, as well. Surely I have the right to use it?"
He waited for the implication to sink in.
"In some situations, humans cannot survive... only by becoming a demon will they be able to endure."
There was another pause as he watched his other self for any reaction.
"I became a demon not by choice, but by circumstance..."

> ∅ I just had this idea while playing through my SMT file today
What if null Flynn could summon some of his past demons? Not those who accompany him currently, but some which disintegrated into the Expanse or left him for personal reasons
Mainly because I fused several ultimate demons in my save file and it feels like them just being gone would be a waste (For example, Mega Uriel who is the most abused strategy for clearing Masakado's DLC)
So I'm tempted to give null Flynn the ability to summon these demons, at the expense of his ability to control his own body. When they are summoned, they will look the same, except with the White's palette. Also since he's sustaining their existence with his mind, he will not be able to act or move during the summoning time.
I think that's enough of a trade-off?

"I have finished all work in my home realm." Flynn answered without pause. "My next task involves this one."
Therefore him shadowing the Flynn from this timeline, to see whether he could be saved... But if the other did not see the light, it would be his duty as the True Messiah to bring salvation to this corrupted world.
The worlds will forever be torn between God and demons... Only darkness' embrace will alleviate this perpetual pain.
crossing swords;
He wasn’t human. No wonder his presence felt so..out of place, compared to the other humans, but strangely enough, compared to most demons as well. That doesn’t matter; a demon is a demon, regardless of their origins. It’s strange though, what drove the original Flynn to the point of discarding his humanity? What was it that made him go beyond the traditional paths of Law and Chaos?
"I see. What is your purpose here? Surely you have unfinished work in your own timeline," the Fallen replied warily. There was no telling whether or not he was hostile at this point. Nevertheless, tension was quickly building, and there was no stopping it.
Decarabia understood traversing different “worlds” so-to-say, even if it never left Earth once. All demons did. But going from one timeline to another within the same realm was nearly unheard of. Why meddle in the affairs of an alternate? What was there to gain from it?

So the Goetic demon was alert, and caught on to the point quickly. The situation had to be handled delicately.
"I am your master, from another timeline." A pause. "Reborn, as a demon. Though, I prefer to use my appearance when I was a human."
It did bring many benefits, such as rendering him effectively immortal. Uncontracted demons who were banished return to the Expanse, and require regeneration before they can be summoned again. Due to the White's efforts, he could return within a matter of days. Not to mention gaining stamina and skill - it boosted his own impressive magic to levels unmatched by the average demon.
He watched Decarabia for its reaction, appearing calm and collected. However, mentally he was tensed and ready to defend himself if necessary.

Out of the corner of its eye, Decarabia noticed a figure approaching it, then stopping. It seemed..rather familiar, though the unworldly aura it emitted was of no human. The demon turned towards it to get a better look, but kept its guard up. No matter who this is, they certainly aren’t human, no matter how much they appear to be.
Upon closer inspection, Decarabia froze in its track. It couldn’t be. That can’t possibly be the same person it forged a contract with. There was no way. The Fallen couldn’t believe what stood before it. Its summoner may be elsewhere for the time being, but a contract is a contract, and neither would dare break those bonds once an agreement is settled, unless that is agreed upon at a later time. Obviously, dissolving of their contract still had yet to happen, even after countless fusions.
The figure was clearly dangerous, as it decided to take on the form of a human whose infamy in this particular Tokyo was rapidly growing. Not any ordinary demon would carelessly disguise themselves that way.
”..Who, no, what are you?”

Being in the presence of an alternate self was slightly disorienting, but Flynn adapted to it after a while. After all, his duty was to remain in this world, and devise ways to set its path on salvation.
But that can wait. The White's endless urgings to head to the Yamato Reactor can wait. He had his own plans to pursue, and was in no hurry.
After all, he had all the time in the world.
His other self was off on some errand, no doubt, but the Decarabia in his possession was still lingering around.
Flynn watched the demon in silence, waiting for the other to make a move.

An astute observation by the Megami - though Flynn is somewhat surprised by the fact that she had not pointed out his demonic origins right away.
"I am Flynn. From another timeline." The youth answered after an appropriately calculated pause, expression not shifting at all. Recalling a similar Megami accompanying him on his own journey, he glanced briefly at his Gauntlet - or rather, it's approximation. The Megami in question had been fused countless times into Vishnu, the Deity that remained by his side.

candidustenebraum started following you
"You look exactly like Flynn." Somehow though, this one felt different from the one she was bound to. A clone, perhaps? She wasn’t sure if humans were even capable of that. Either way, she continued her observation. Even though this was not the Flynn she knew, Hathor greeted him gracefully. "Hello there." she said, placing her hands and bowing only slightly. The Megami remained skeptical and on guard, so her greeting didn’t include her usual smile when seeing Flynn.

Flynn waited until the last of Antichthon's radiant discharge before unfreezing from the position which he had held while casting the spell. His alternate self had indeed survived - though with only one remaining demon that was able to continue fighting.
Which should be remedied before the conversation began.
He closed his eyes briefly and aligned his fingers together once again, this time forming a golden stream of light which split into a dozen strands once his hands parted. This would heal his alternate and the Quetzalcoatl completely, though the distance between them prevented the spell from reaching the other's remaining demons.
It had an interesting name... Salvation, or Messiah Rise in the old tongue. How fitting...
Seeing his alternate with a partner brought a strange sense of nostalgia. It was a slight pity that he was not able to recruit any new demons after his transformation into one of their fellows. Quite a few had deserted him as well... only a handful of staunch allies remained behind. But then again, he only needed them for battle in very rare circumstances. As a demon, his power had only grown.
It seemed that the other was not willing to speak first. Just as well - he was the foreigner here, after all...
"Are your demons still in need of healing?"

> He knew it — Flynn knew he would be venturing into a very dangerous territory. But this part of the Unclean Ones’ country needed the exploration, and perhaps he could find more clues to the Black Samurai’s whereabouts. Yet the bad idea was made clear when just after a few minutes, he was surrounded by a horde of beasts.
The youth had called out three of his strongest demons, including his own Fenrir, in cause the wild demon could convince its kinship, but in a horde, none listened to reason. Flynn bravely fought and commanded, and healed his allies when they were low on health, but soon he could feel his own mana draining away with no chance of recovering.
Flynn considered retreat as their last chance, calling out two of his comrades to return to the gauntlet, leaving only Quetzalcoatl by the user’s side. The remaining demon used Sea of Chaos as way to clear out at least half the horde. When the Samurai signaled the lone demon to accompany him, a bright light filled the area, followed by a strange sound. — Was that the power of an Almighty spell?
The Samurai raised his arm to cover his vision from the brightness, and noticed the beasts were obliterated, leaving Flynn and his demon safe from harm. He stood in awe, wondering what or who came to their rescue. When his gaze followed the dissolving magic trail, he spotted a human figure. There stood a youth, a mirrored image of his very own being, looking back at him with such an emotionless stare. Flynn hesitated at the sight, and suddenly, his mind went blank.

❝…❞
The Dragon called to his master with slight confusion in his voice, waking the youth from a hypnotised state. Flynn regained his strength, or what was left of it, and composed himself. Although he was saved, the Samurai didn’t feel quite grateful just yet. He watched the doppelganger with a firm expression now, cautiously waiting for something to happen.

So, this was his own world, again. But at a point where its destiny could still be changed...
Isabeau would rather him take immediate action, but he preferred to bide his time. If this was indeed his own world... then another version of him would be here. If he was able to convince the other to join the White's cause, it would be... quite beneficial, to say the least.
Flynn exited the underground tunnel and emerged into the Tokyo Bay area. Searching for one person in the Unclean One's Country was bound to be difficult... without assistance. But it was easy, with the new navigational system that the White had given him. He had prepared a proper explanation for the encounter, but all of those plans were derailed by a group of Fenrir and Cerberus which had seized the chance for a quick meal. The demons raced past, their pack flowing around him like a current over a stone.
A moment's thought provided the explanation. The fact that he was one of them had slipped his mind. Nevertheless, his original self was under assault - and judging from how the battle was going, the other might not survive.
There was no need to use any actual weaponry - calling up magic from the back of his mind was easier as a demon than as a human. An orb of iridescent energy formed between his hands before it flew behind the demonic horde and detonated.
Flynn was careful to not let the Almighty spell's discharge hit his alternate self. The pack of canine demons, however, did not face his restraint and were obliterated.
