last time I'll say this: I think exposing what queer people do, their sex life I mean, on accounts hidden from the public eye to thousands of people is fucking weird, invasive and gross and I'm angry this is still an ongoing thing.

This is not news I ever wanted to share with anyone online, but @maldreathezora, author of @anewcalamity, is currently in hospice care. Maldrea, or Faith, as I know her, has been fighting a very long, exhausting battle with cancer. Per those closest to her, her condition has progressed very quickly, and there is nothing more that can be done. I ask that those reading this post please do not ask for further details at this time while Faith is surrounded by the warmth and love of her family. 

Faith has always been an incredibly brave, joyous, and creative person. I gravitated towards A New Calamity many years ago, and had the privilege to work with her as an editor on the comic. It breaks my heart to have to deliver this message, but I know many have been waiting for an update since her last post in March. I also want to use this opportunity to bring awareness to Faith’s gofundme, which is being used to bring her the best comfort and care possible.

Finally, I ask for your understanding and patience. I have been receiving messages about the comic while it has been on hiatus. Therapist supported comshipping/darkshipping

My therapist is aware of the things I write about, the things I ship, because due to hate I was getting scared I was ruining myself with it. But she actually confirmed she thinks its something I should probably keep doing. For a few reasons, such as the fact its hard for me to word my trauma or let it out when I try to explain it as happening to me due to fear of saying anything since I was taught to essentially 'suck it up and shut up' and using fictional characters helps me view it in a third person manner. She believes it gives me a way to process memories in a way that can feel less scary and alarming cause im not focussing purely on 'oh god this happened to me??' instead it allows me to process it without feeling fully alone. However though she agrees fiction affects reality she also believes reality affects fiction. All around she believes it can help me process and cope with things that happened to me by expelling it into something more creative and that she believes its a positive coping mechanism. Especially as I have history with suicidal ideation and self harm which are much more of negative coping mechanisms then this.

Modding a Wii U is pretty awesome

I modded my wii u yesterday and it is one of the best systems to mod I stayed up till 2 am playing splatoon for the first time, and it was great. Unfortunately, the pretendo severs were being iffy so I didn't get to play turf war, but story mode is still awesome. I did however get to play a few MK8 matches online. It only had 2 other ppl, but it was still fun I've also got youtube working on it again and it is so nostalgic Miiverse also works now, and it is so cool seeing ppl still post on it If you have an old wii u, I HIGHLY suggest modding it. It is literally so simple to do. All you need is a sd card, and a way to transfer files to it. It is a great way to turn a dead console into something you could use every day
