Saying my goodbyes to Sun and Moon here, they had a good run and were very pretty! I am sure they'll be resting very well knowing all these people loved them, including Eclipse <33 Have a good one, little guys, we'll miss you, but never forget you and we'll cherish every moment we had with you <:)

sorry i asked on your other blog by accident but i have a question about the desktop buddy. does downloading Aster alter how you access the apps on your desktop? because i'd love to have them on my desktop but i would like to have the usual functions

oh whoops already answered on logictxt. anyway the answer is no, all they can do is see what is running and comment on it

i'd say to see aster as a natural evolution of sun and moon of the au. if you loved the sillies, maybe you may like aster as well!

truth is my grasp on sun's and moon's personalities in the AU is kind of... lost. most of it has been reshaped for aster, so I can't really give you a detailed answer

that being said sun would probably just kind of get shy and flustered. moon maybe would be curious in studying what you've made

I love seeing fan au's of characters becoming their own ocs :] asters design and color pallette are amazing btw

thanks so much!! it took a bit of figuring out before getting to its current look. hell further changes are likewise not out of the question, their more human head shapes are a VERY recent change, i don't even have refs to reflect it and the ukagaka doesn't match it

vega's and rigel's light tones are becoming gradually more red/green respectively and it's. it's amazing that it even works aksdfjlksfdj;

#ask post #that kind of a pick was because when i was figuring out their colors i used gradient maps #and the one i settled on for what would become aldebaran had a soft yellow against the purples #i loved it a lot but it felt weird when rigel and vega had a light orange and blue respectively #so it became green and red for a similar kind of contrast

It's been so fun to see this develop from a fandom AU to a beloved OC project, even if im a bit sad i wont get to see these fun designs in anything new, but hey, all good thongs come to an end. It sounds silly but i appreciate you taking the time to fill the narrative gap with another beautiful comic! also, Aster the desktop buddy is wonderful! They're is cute as hell.

Since the blog/AU is more or less "retired" now, would you mind if people ever used a similar concept for their own AUs/fics? Not CaelOS ofc - that's still *your* personal project - but the idea of an AI assistant+human user dynamic, if that makes sense?

I only ask since the AU has developed into a much more personal work that seems very dear to you, and I was genuinely curious about your feelings on it :) /GenQ

yeah, sure, you're absolutely free to use the core concept as base for your own ideas! if it's a dca au it would also be even cooler if this blog was credited, though it's not a necessity by any means! i don't own a copyright on the concept itself

but yeah i appreciate this message a lot. part of the reason CaelOS became what it is now, is because what i've made with this blog felt original enough for me to transform into something fully mine and let go of the constraints that come with canons and such.

fandom in general tends to twist canonical characters into something while incredible, definitely a far cry from their canon counterparts. since i ended up going the same route, softening Sun and nearly completely erasing Moon's more malevolent traits, it felt right to push it further and change the designs and identities!

i don't see it as a bad thing on its own here, there's EXTREMELY little canonical material for dca so stretching it further and giving your own quirks to them is only understandable. this is just the route i ended up choosing. it gave me a lot more passion for the project as a whole and pushed me into a whole programming medium to use for both character writing and storytelling (the ukagaka thing. it's ironic as hell how i didn't feel like making one for sun and moon but made an aster one...)

Hello!!! Just wanted to say that I'm excited to see more stuff from the new project!!

This AU in particular really hooked me in when I stumbled across it. I'm happy to see it evolve into a new, realized form and that I have a new artist I can support! (⁠≧⁠▽⁠≦⁠)

That's all folks! Blog Retired, but with a twist

As been mentioned, the blog was scheduled to close once i patch up the time gap I accidentally made. With "Discovery" it's sufficiently patched, meaning it's time!

The blog will not be deleted, but the ask box & submission boxes are closed.

This isn't the end of CaelOS however! CaelOS is now a project fully separated from fandom, and has changed in many ways. You can follow along with my work on it on @logicpng! Some information and artwork is hosted on my site, here.

Just like with this blog, you're more than welcome to ask things about Aster, Urs, and the general world they are in on the blog linked above.

You can already have a taste of the project's changes. Aster, Sun and Moon's OC successor, has a little desktop buddy program based on them. You can play with it today!

If Aster catches a virus or gets booped on his "nose" too much, does he go through something like a sneezing animation?
