Safety Rat has been on my mind since the beginning of Rats SMP! I've compiled quite a few short comics of an idea that I had about Jimmy's character.

The basic idea: What if Safety Rat could actually communicate with the cats? But no one knew? Well. I'm not going to spoil everything that I have ready so far, but I think that anyone who enjoyed Jimmy's performance on Rats SMP will enjoy this comic!

The world is infested with creatures beyond our comprehension. Jimmy and Tango, the Eldritch Ranchers, set out to attempt to document these oddities.

Situated in a safe pocket in between what can only be described as ‘The Fog’, The Ranch, where Jimmy spends majority of his time houses the majority of passive creatures the ranchers have rescued from The Fog. He seems to have gained the trust of a few - they run around trying to help Jimmy out and communicate by dancing with him.

Tango spends a lot of his time in The Fog, holding off both it, and the fleshy beings that emerge as a result of its strange atmosphere. Wearing a mask is necessary - the air within The Fog is thick, almost as if you’re trying to survive in the stomach of a beast. He loves making intricate traps for them, or just blowing them up.

AITA for being 'unsafe'

Okay so to start of with a bit of information, I'm a rat that is known for safety, being called safety rat and all, and I live with a mischief of a few rats in the attic or a very big house quite a lot of humans live in.

Now despite being quite literally called the safety rat, my friends in the mischief have called me unsafe on multiple occasions while being quite upset because I'm supposed to be the safe one.

I find that quite fair, but at the same time I think they might be over reacting! Just for your convenience though, I'll state the list of things that I have done that they have deemed 'unsafe' and after that I will explain my whole point of view in those situations, well then here's the list:

I tend to run with a knife, I (ACCIDENTALLY!!!) killed the gardener, I get too daring with getting near the humans, threatening both humans AND cats, I helped in blowing up a boiler room, I sang to cats while not even thinking about the consequences and probably more!

Now for my explanations or excuses:

Running with a knife: I had a course in how to hold knives correctly and so I can run with it safely without fear of a surprise attack since I can just easily use the knife

Accidentally killing the gardener: I don't want to get to much into this but it technically wasn't my fault because I wasn't controlling the gardeners every move and it wasn't my fault that the gardener was following when he fell (technically..)

Getting too daring/near humans: I just want to check if some humans chill or not since I know that there are some humans that are and also I want to see HOW close I can get and more stuff that is VERY important to the rats' safety,

Threatening both humans and cats: okay so I have threatened them before but it's not like they can speak rat and ALSO I'm not threatening the rats or acting on the threats so I don't get why the others would have so many problems with it (and with the others I actually just basically mean my fleas..),

Helping with blowing up the boiler room: this one sounds bad BUT it technically wasn't my fault as I wasn't the one that came up with the plan to hit every switch!! Even if I helped flipping switches and hitting buttons, but what can I say, my rat curiosity got the better of me! I will admit though, I DO feel guilty about lying about how much I did when helping because I told my friends that weren't there that I was just looking away as it happened and that was a lie..

Singing to the cats: Now this isn't that big of an issue but people still thought it was unsafe, even if they could clearly see that my singing was working and the cats weren't attacking! I think they were a bit scared of the cats so it got them a bit nervous which is fair, but sometimes risks need to be taken (by me, specifically, because I'm qualified for that kind of stuff) to see if it's actually safe, and it was,

I wouldn't be surprised if there was more, the other rats simply don't understand my way of detern if something is safe or not, I can tell when something is unsafe thank you very much! And I mean, I'm still the safety rat so my 'unsafe' endeavours aren't THAT dangerous!! So I personally think it's fine, even if some rats seem to have a problem with it and keep claiming that I should be more careful.
