Hi! I know I’ve sent a few asks before along similar lines but I just want you guys to know how much of a joy your story is to read even after I’ve read it countless times the past few years.

I always picture the rink in your story as a modified version of my childhood roller rink (it only had a flat track and no locker rooms so my brain just made it deeper and added stuff) and it’s always incredibly nostalgic, but it also helps me keep it alive, in my own way. It’s always wonderful thinking of that rink and picturing it filled with life and community.

Also, I’m finally going to get to go to my first roller derby next month! It’s flat track, but I’m so excited to finally get to watch roller derby! Also, I can confirm that the people who play roller derby in real life are also badass, and I will always love the name Bureau of Badass.

I just wanted to say thank you for this fic, it has meant so much to me over the years. Every time I come back to it, whether I'm rereading a specific character arc or just my favorite chapters, or the whole thing all over again, it feels like coming home.

i just recently went back and reread the entirety of bureau of badass in one sitting and i have to say, its absolutely one of my favorite fics of all time. i remember reading it at the height of my TAZ obsession years ago, i remember crying when the magnus and julia chapter was reseased. its absolutely one of the fics that inspired me to try my hand at writing fics and hey, ive still never published anything publicly on ao3 or anything, but if i do it'll absolutely be because of this fic convincing me to start putting words on a page. so thank you, and i hope youre both doing well :)

This blog is probably no longer active but where did you guys start finding resources about Derby? I wanna write a roller derby au but I don't know where to start

Hannah says, "I read a kid’s graphic novel called Roller Girl that helped me, a non visual person, visualize the rules in a way that was very friendly to folks who have no idea how roller derby works. Also it’s very cute."

Kaitlyn says, "Honestly, I think we just googled rules. :D I remember finding blogs with guides about how to train for try-outs as a beginner, lists of terms to know, common plays etc. Also watching taped games on youtube, there's quite a number of those. None of this was a deep dive on google, I don't have that much patience or love for research.

Oh, and watching that Elliot Page movie, Whip It. That was all I knew about roller derby when we started writing. It's not very accurate. But it is fun.

I just finished this fic. I wish it could have been a bound book so I could gaze at it lovingly on my shelf. Absolutely amazing. I loved how you wove together all of these characters.
