Solar Eclipse Of April 8, 2024.
Solar Eclipse Of April 8, 2024.
Tumblr media
New moon phase on April 8 will bring on the 2024 total solar eclipse. You'll be able to see two planets in the dawn sky as well. The new moon occurs on April 8 at 2:21 p.m. EDT (1821 GMT) and will usher in a "Great American Eclipse" — the first total solar eclipse to hit the lower 48 states since August 2017.
A total solar eclipse will take place at the Moon's ascending node on Monday, April 8, 2024.
The Monday, April 8, 2024, total solar eclipse will cross North America, passing over Mexico, the United States, and Canada. The total solar eclipse will begin over the South Pacific Ocean. Weather permitting, the first location in continental North America that will experience totality is Mexico’s Pacific coast at around 11:07 a.m. PDT. https://science.nasa.gov/eclipses/future-eclipses/eclipse-2024/where-when/
This rare celestial phenomenon will occur when the moon blots out the sun.
During the total solar eclipse, a swath of North America will plunge into a few minutes of darkness.
Tens of millions who live along a narrow stretch from Mexico's Pacific coast to eastern Canada can just look skyward on Monday to have a glimpse of the day turning into twilight. https://www.livemint.com/news/india/pm-narendra-modi-sets-ambitious-india-economic-goals-for-probable-third-term-11712239407472.html
According to NASA, the eclipse will actually start way out over the Pacific Ocean, early in the morning. It'll make its first landfall on the west coast of Mexico, near the beach town of Mazatlán. The sky there will start to darken around 10 a.m., and they'll experience totality at 11:07 a.m. Pacific time, for 4 minutes and 17 seconds.
Then, the eclipse will cross through the inland portions of Mexico and into Texas, right over parts of San Antonio. And here's where it gets tricky. Even within a single city, some areas will be treated to view of the total eclipse, while others will not. https://www.nbcbayarea.com/news/local/digital-originals/what-to-know-2024-total-solar-eclipse/3499936/
You can watch the eclipse with your eclipse glasses, but a telescope—with the proper, safe filter—will make viewing the eclipse even more amazing.
The April 8, 2024, total solar eclipse will produce stunning views across North America. While anyone along the eclipse path with a clear sky will see the spectacular event, the best view might be 50,000 feet in the air, aboard NASA's WB-57 jet planes.
For people in the path of totality, the moon will completely block the sun for a short time. These few minutes will be the only time that it will be safe to look directly toward the sun. For people who ARE NOT in the path of totality, you will need to wear specialized eye protection designed for solar viewing.

THE COLOR OF HEAT AND COLD.
THE COLOR OF HEAT AND COLD.
Tumblr media
In our daily lives, information concerning temperature is often provided by means of colour cues, with red typically being associated with warm/hot, and blue with cold. While such correspondences have been known about for many years, they have primarily been studied using subjective report measures.
HEAT.
The quality of being hot; high temperature. Intensity of feeling, especially of anger or excitement. To make or become hot or warm.
COLD.
Is of or at a low or relatively low temperature, especially when compared with the human body. a low temperature; cold weather; a cold environment. lacking affection or warmth of feeling; unemotional.
There's no substance or quantity called "cold" in science. We can't measure the amount of "cold" in something. Instead, it's about what is NOT there.
From the above equation, we conclude that if heat is taken out from a body, the body's temperature will go down and will feel cold. Therefore, cold is not equal to the absence of heat. But the absence of heat is a reason of coldness.
COLD AND HEAT IN THE HUMAN BODY.
Cold and heat can impair the human body and its physiological processes in innumerable ways, while also interacting with pre-existing conditions and chronic diseases. With both exposures, the primary concern is alteration of the body's core temperature beyond a healthy range.
Heat boosts the flow of blood and nutrients to an area of the body. It often works best for morning stiffness or to warm up muscles before activity. Cold slows blood flow, reducing swelling and pain.
When you feel hot, blood vessels dilate to allow more blood to pass through them, increasing blood flow to the skin, where excess heat is released. When you feel cold, blood vessels constrict, keeping blood away from the skin and closer to core organs, thereby conserving heat.
THE UNIVERSE TEMPERATURE.
The average temperature of the universe is downright cold – right around 3 degrees above absolute zero. In order to measure the temperature deep space there must be a substance, because this is how we define temperature.
THE TEMPERATURE OF THE EARTH.
Approximately 59 degrees Fahrenheit. The average surface temperature on Earth is approximately 59 degrees Fahrenheit (15 degrees Celsius), according to NASA. However, the planet's average temperature is rising. The 10 warmest years across the entirety of recorded human history have all occurred since 2010.
HOW DO WE PERCEIVE HEAT AND COLD.
Thermosensation — the ability to detect temperature — triggers our reflex to withdraw from painful heat or cold. But mammals are also able to detect more pleasant cool and warm temperatures. We sense temperature in our environment through specialized nerve cells that project into the outer layers of the skin.
HEAT AND COLD LIGHT.
Light sources excited by chemical energy, electrical energy, or biological energy are called cold light sources, while light sources made based on the principle of objects heating and emitting light are called hot light sources.
DOES HEAT EMIT LIGHT?
Incandescence is the emission of electromagnetic radiation (including visible light) from a hot body as a result of its high temperature. The term derives from the Latin verb incandescere, to glow white. A common use of incandescence is the incandescent light bulb, now being phased out.
DOES COLD EMIT LIGHT.
Cold things do not emit visible light. Just turn off the light and see how little light is emitted by your favorite wall. As you warm things up, they begin to emit light in relatively long wavelengths.
WHY DOES HEAT WARM AND BURN?
Heat does result in faster moving molecules, but also in changes in molecules as temperature rises. At higher speeds, chemical reactions become faster, and most molecules in living things are easily oxidized into simpler things such as carbon dioxide. That is fire and burning.
The molecules in the warmer object vibrate faster than the ones in the cooler object. The faster vibrating molecules collide with the slower molecules. This makes the cooler molecules vibrate more quickly, and the object gets warmer.
WHY DOES COLD FREEZE?
Freezing happens when the molecules of a liquid get so cold that they slow down enough to hook onto each other, forming a solid crystal. For pure water, this happens at 32 degrees Fahrenheit, and unlike most other solids, ice expands and is actually less dense than water.
CAN OIL FREEZE?
You can say that oil does, in fact, freeze, but it has no specific freezing point, like water.
HEAT AND COLD ON EARTH.
Generally speaking, the hottest areas are near the equator where the energy incident from the Sun hits the Earth at nearly a right angle. Conversely, the coldest areas on the Earth are around the poles where the energy incident from the Sun hits the Earth at a more shallow angle.
The radioactive decay of elements in the Earth's mantle and crust results in production of daughter isotopes and release of geoneutrinos and heat energy, or radiogenic heat. About 50% of the Earth's internal heat originates from radioactive decay.
Every matter has heat energy. The result of the movement of minute particles known as atoms, molecules, or ions in liquids, solids, and gases is nothing but heat energy. Heat energy can be transferred from one substance to another, and the flow because of the temperature difference between two objects is known as heat.
Seasonally, winter has the coldest months because the Earth's tilt is away from the sun. This lowers the angle and amount of solar radiation that reaches the earth's surface. This tilt also produces a large temperature differences, as the rate of cooling is higher in the polar region compared to the equator.
THE IMPORTANCE OF HEAT AND COLD.
Fast facts on cold and heat treatment: Cold treatment reduces inflammation by decreasing blood flow. Apply within 48 hours after an injury. Heat treatment promotes blood flow and helps muscles relax. Use for chronic pain.
In conclusion, the darker colors absorb more heat after four hours of being in the sun, while the lighter colors absorb less heat. Black, gold, and silver are the coolest colors, which should be worn in the winter, because they attract the most heat.

NAMIBIA'S PRESEIDENT HAGE GEINGOB DEAD AGED 82
NAMIBIA'S PRESEIDENT HAGE GEINGOB DEAD AGED 82
Namibian President Hage Geingob died Sunday while receiving medical treatment, his office announced.
The Vice-President of Namibia, Nangolo Mbumba announced that Mr Geingob had died in the early hours of Sunday morning. It is with utmost sadness and regret that I inform you that our beloved Dr. Hage G. Geingob, the President of the Republic of Namibia has passed on today”, as he said on X, formerly Twitter.
First elected president in 2014, Geingob was Namibia’s longest serving prime minister and third president. Mr Geingob became president in 2015 and was serving his second and final term in office.
The 82-old leader had been diagnosed with cancer and revealed his diagnosis to the public last month. He underwent an aortic operation last year, and in 2014 he revealed that he had survived prostate cancer. Geingob was undergoing treatment for cancer. The 82-year-old had a colonoscopy and a gastroscopy on Jan. 8, followed by a biopsy, according to his office.
His office announced he would be travelling to the US for treatment, but would return to Namibia on 2 February.
Angolo Mbumba, Namibia’s acting president, called for calm, saying in the same post on X that the “Cabinet will convene with immediate effect in order to make the necessary state arrangements in this regard.
Namibia is set to hold elections to choose a new leader in November.
The governing Swapo party, which has been in power since independence in 1990, has chosen Mrs Nandi-Ndaitwah as its presidential candidate.
She is currently also Namibia's deputy prime minister, and will become the country's first female president if she wins.
The Namibian President Hage Geingob was born in a village in northern Namibia in 1941, Geingob was the southern African country’s first president outside of the Ovambo ethnic group, which makes up more than half the country’s population.
He took up activism against South Africa’s apartheid regime, which at the time ruled over Namibia, from his early schooling years before being driven into exile.
He spent almost three decades in Botswana and the United States.

WHAT WILL HAPPEN IF THE EARTH STOP SPINNING?
WHAT WILL HAPPEN IF THE EARTH STOP SPINNING?
There is not the slightest chance of the Earth stopping spinning, but if it did there would be hardly any effect on the moon. The Earth would continue to orbit just as it has always done.
With the exception of a time-lapse video from NASA, which was made with footage from a camera on the International Space Station. It is not possible to watch Earth in motion because it makes only one revolution every 24 hours. That is excruciatingly slow, much too slow for our eyes to detect.
If the Earth stopped spinning, you wouldn't be launched off into space. Gravity would still keep you firmly on the ground. There would be lots of changes, though. If the Earth were to stop spinning but continue to orbit the sun, a day would last half a year, and so would the night. It could warm up much during the day and cool down more during the night. This would affect the climate on Earth.
It means that Earth's day lengthens by one seconds every 50,000 years. The only thing that could stop the earth's spin would be if another planet crashed into it. Even if this happened, it is more likely that it would change the way Earth spins, not stop it altogether.
If the Earth stopped spinning, 6 months of daytime and 6 months of nighttime would be experienced. The side of the Earth facing the Sun will experience fiery summers, while the side facing away from the Sun would face deadly winters. This will result in giant storms that would rage for ages.
WHY DOES THE EARTH ROTATE?
Earth rotates because Sun attracts the earth and thus pulls earth towards it secondly due to earth's revolution around sun it tends to go away from sun in direction of the tangent hence a rotational force (torque) acts on earth and it tends to rotate.
WILL THERE BE LIFE OF EARTH IF THE EARTH STOPPED SPINNING?
Everywhere receives six months of daylight, gradually heating up the planet to well over 100°C. The huge central continent would get the hottest and any remaining lakes and rivers would boil away and be blown to the poles by fierce winds. Even primitive life would only be possible along a narrow strip at the coast.
The reason for this is that, despite the spinning of the Earth being stopped, the atmosphere will continue to be in motion with a speed of 1700 km/hr sweeping off everything in the ground like huge rocks, vehicles, buildings, along with us. Due to this, the ecosystem on Earth will be wiped out completely.
Bottom line; We don't feel or see the Earth spin on its axis because the Earth's spin is steady - and moves at a constant rate in orbit around the sun - carrying us as passengers right along with it.
