Whispering in his ear My magic potion for love, Telling him I’m sincere and that there’s nothing too good for us….I want to FREE.
The 1970’s was a magical time in history, when the revolution gave birth to the “Revolution”. Black power was strong in music, allowing us to appreciate the lyrical Black Butterflies of the world. The Dawning of The Age of Aquarius brought forth freedoms that existed in us inwardly from which had been buried in our wombs by benightedness .  The 70’s, was place where the dream of “Lord, we ain’t what we oughta be. We ain’t what we want to be. We ain’t what we gonna be. But, thank God, we ain’t what we was.” was becoming an answered prayer.  Music of the 70’s is the text book for which the artists that have followed are the highlighters.  Our past has brought forth in the words of  Kendrick Lamar, loyalty and royalty inside our DNA and one of the treasures that has vibrantly come from the DNA of the 70’s is Tiffany Bynoe with her remake of Denise Williams lyrical thesis, FREE, off of her forthcoming album 11 11 Beautiful Day.
The album 11 11 Beautiful Day marks a triumphant return for vocalist Tiffany Bynoe, and a reward for staying to her spiritual calling and artistic vision. Tiffany Bynoe was a teenager when she received some advice from her grandmother, Charlena Hewett-Brown (mother of singer Howard Hewett of Shalamar),  “make a plan for her music career and to set goals that would bring that plan to fruition.”   Bynoe believes that her life up to this point prepared her to deliver the musical message contained in the nine originals and one cover on 11 11 Beautiful Day.
Upon listening to the single, FREE, a couple of thoughts resonated in my mind.  Singers typically shy away from songs originally performed by the late Whitney Houston, Minnie Riperton, legendary Rachelle Farrell and iconic Denise Williams, simply because it is hard to make what is already great your own, as well as, compete with their incomparable vocals.  A challenge that most won’t take, however Tiffany Bynoe, accomplished making FREE her own without compromising the integrity while standing toe to toe with the Denise Williams vocal range in the original recording effortlessly.  No competition, no contest, don’t judge me, just love me, the way that I love music, is what Tiffany Bynoe brings to this project.
FREE 5.0 was flawlessly done, however, I want you to be the judge.   Take a listen and please respond responsibly ♫

You Really Should Ask Rezell Simmons...
You Really Should Ask Rezell Simmons…
People often email/DM on advise on how to get started in radio or the entertainment business.
Well from here on out I will be responding to these requests “Don’t ask me, ask Rezell Simmons!!”
Who is that??  It’s a man who cut his teeth exactly the way 98% of the people in the industry cut their’s.  Whether they will admit it or not.  Rezell Simmons path in radio would be the equivalent to Russell…

Who is Andra Day??
Who is Andra Day??
By BridgetEE
Andra Day inked a partnership with Coca-Cola and McDonalds, were her picture will grace the cups of 40 million cups at McDonalds.
Interestingly enough when I posted the story on social media, more than a few made the comment “Who is Andra Day?”.  I was surprised by the response.  Although I’m a music fan of all types, it occurred to me that sometimes the WHO or shall I say the…

Lisa Lisa Of Cult Jam Produces Change Through Song & Laughter (VIDEO)
What better way to make a positive point to a negative situation then through music and laughter.
With the highlighters today of racial profiling, police brutality plus now, thanks to the Don, foreign policy, some may not get the blunt point of whats going on unless you put a melody to it, as well as a humoricpoint of view on it.  (Sidebar: our amazing President Obama proved that point this past…

Kendrick Lamar New Album Untitled Unmastered Is Masterful (REVIEW)
Kendrick Lamar New Album Untitled Unmastered Is Masterful (REVIEW)
By BridgetEE
Greatness can never be Unmastered but, Untitled is the reflection of the masterful.
Kendrick Lamar shocked the world by dropping an Untitled album out the sky and although its description is Unmastered the project is indeed masterful.  A project that is giving a whole new meaning to cross over because instead of crossing music genres Kendrick has mastered crossing age demographics.…

My Interview With Carmen Rodgers And Her "Stargazing" Official Video
My Interview With Carmen Rodgers And Her “Stargazing” Official Video
By BridgetEE
A year ago I wrote a blog on a neo soul artist that had a hot new album out and this is what I had to say…
Her is Carmen Rodgers she was marketing her own album release listening party, which should have been a high priced intimate concert in a perfect world.  She is a representative of what I’m talking about, an album that is titled “STARGAZER” that is worth every cent.  Her album…

Jazmine Sullivan Performs Her Masterpiece Live
Jazmine Sullivan Performs Her Masterpiece Live
By BridgetEE
Music is really a canvas that not many, if you think about it, in the grand scheme of things have mastered. A painting is painted to invoke an emotion, a story and music is supposed to to do the same. Starving artist are great because they do what they do for the love of it, the passion. I wish sometimes the color green could be stripped away so the world can see the colors of a real…

Loren Smith Is The Gift That Keeps On Giving "Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays"
Loren Smith Is The Gift That Keeps On Giving “Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays”
  By BridgetEE
Christmas music is the one genre that will always cross-over because the no matter what Scrooge may want Christmas is about the gift of giving, not only in the material but in the spiritual, and the same premise holds true for Christmas music.
I sooo love my background singers, my diamonds in the rough, the stars over the manger to my musical heart, so when my electronic Santa…

Silk Is Back Smooth As Ever, And Would Love 4 U 2 Like Me
Silk Is Back Smooth As Ever, And Would Love 4 U 2 Like Me
 By BridgetEE
There is an insurgence of going back to where things started.  For some reason there seems to be an unspoken belief  that there is no room for R&B.  Can a culture not handle two genres?  Rock and country music coexist, so why can’t R&B and Hip Hop?   Does everything have to cross over and have you even tried to make it cross?   I don’t know when the narrow mindedness started but the…
