reusing serafine for wren is exactly the kind of expected laziness pb always resorts to. i dont think its fair to compare the asset recycling to tyrils family or imturas mom though because yknow. theyre not humans. of course editing an existing sprite wouldve been the same amount of work to just make a brand new one for entirely different races

#they couldve changed her clothes but ngl im not mad about it when a b3 is extremely unlikely and shes barely even a side character #ever since wb ended and i stopped playing until cop2/bolas2 i always forget about this blog rip #besides the pacing and wasting aerin/valax by having them be completely absent from so much of the book i like b2 #i dont hate what theyre doing with mal but its absolutely bc they had to make room for aerin/valax at the expense of the actual lis #imtura last chapter got more than i was expecting tbh i was just assuming she wouldnt have any plotlines like in b1. thats it for her thoug #i guess i dont see much of a point in how theyre handling aerin/valaxs arcs. both romance wise and general plot wise #neither of them are there for long enough to make their romance routes meaningful and when there is actual development theyre just #written out for a few weeks until they waltz back into the narrative. its a waste to have antagonists turned lis when theyre never there #id love to see an alternate b2 where aerin and valax arent shoehorned into the party solely bc i wanna see what theyd do with mal and imtur #without having to give up so much for two new barely fleshed out romance routes #oh id also wanna see nia pissed about aerin too. i get that when he was there she needed to believe he wasnt just shadow as hope for her #but no!!! let her go apeshit on the man who kidnapped her lead to her being possessed and killed by mc!! her best friend or partner!!!!

#@ character designers who think its a good idea to have a male character with long hair cut it: why are you like this #oh im loving how angsty this book will be in the first half ugh!!! with all the lis its rough #tyril spent a year wandering around mourning feeling like he failed kaya only to watch mc vanish before his eyes not being able to help the #nias just figuring out who she is as a person and loses mc and her whole support system who helped her dismantle her entire worldview #mal never really trusted anyone besides his sister before mc and the rest of the group came along. hes abandoned #just like he was when his mom died. left all alone again after forming the first meaningful bonds hes had in over a decade probably #imtura had her crew obviously but i hc that there was always a divide between her and them bc shes never known what she should do #be herself away from the pressures of her mom and flotilta (flotila??) or reluctantly step up and accept she has to sacrifice herself #and kade!!!!! he spent months being tortured then he gets saved by his sibling only to have them be kidnapped in front of him #he knows whats capable of happening in the shadow realm so hes spent the year in the library poring over tomes for something anything #theyve all spent the year constantly thinking about mc being tortured or worse but kade has to blame himself for all this. after all if he #didnt get trapped mc wouldnt have absorbed the blade of light and wouldnt be a target. just ugh!!!!! fantastic angst

#finished b1 again yesterday and tyril is such a sap i adore that elf and how he waxed poetic about mc and comparing them to the stars #dont deprive me of the other three!!!! dont make me choose again! i will choose tyril but that doesnt mean i dont love the others #it was such a weird choice to confine you to only one too bc the options before that had all four of them you could do them all #just not the sex scenes. weird to draw the line there but okay

whats the appeal of having a human bolas mc again

#even if elf wasnt the best race just in terms of special dialogue/exp id still refuse to play a human #youre one in literally every other book except es and atv (nb too ig? but i forget about it) so why settle in bolas #tbf i think its a boring waste to be human in every other fantasy setting too. why choose one of the human races in tes #when khajiit and argonians exist. even wood elves are more interesting with the green pact than any of the four human races #the elf sprites are a lot prettier than the f!humans at least. the m!human set is gorgeous and the pink male elf is so bad and for what #all the f!elves are so pretty. the other two m!elves are too. the orcs are just hot. could never play as one though bc i care too much #about maxing out exp and skills rip

i vaguely kept up with wbs bullshit when it was airing for vips so i know the ableism with morgan how her wolf shit “makes up” for her being blind gets a lot worse throughout the book but god every aspect of this book is already uncomfortable just in the first chapter alone. pb had a year to take some of the criticism and rework the aspects even vip players didnt like but why would they actually listen to any audience that isnt talking around pbs boot

#they can tw bisexuality but not ableism or kidnapping or super uncomfortable bordering on assault scenes #its a shame bc bastiens actual body sprite is at least different and a little thicker than most sprites are + black bastien is actually hot #but theres nothing even remotely tolerable about him besides not being a bad sprite #i still think its weird to take such a blatant omegaverse concept and make the focal point m/f when it was literally created to be m/m #yeah yeah morgan is also possessive over mc and the book is clear nothing is actually a choice for the player bc mc is in love with both #but dont act like theres not an obvious push toward bastien like there always is #shouldve just been a single goc li man. anything wouldve been better than a love triangle between siblings being the unavoidable focal point
