UnOrdinary Oneshot
The sky was a dark black, illuminated by the stars. The tree's swayed to the rhythm of the wind, and it was a nice calm night for everyone. Almost everyone.
"Are you serious?" The raven haired boy asked, flailing his arms around. "You still haven't taken out the Christmas tree?!"
The blue sapphire eyed girl simply rolled her eyes. "Why do you care?" She responded aggravated, "it's not like you are spending the New Years with me."
"You don't get it do you?" The boy nagged, "I just can't believe a friend of mine isn't able to tell the difference between Christmas and New Years." He looked down, "and you were supposed to be smart..."
The magenta haired girl had heard enough, "you idiot!" She roared, "you don't get the meaning of 'I didn't have enough time?'" She stomped towards him, "why must you always meddle in business that isn't of your own?!"
John crossed his arms, "then your roommate could have done it!"
"I'm not going to force her!" Seraphina shot back.
"Well maybe you should!" John protested.
"No way!"
"Fine!" John growled, "just do something about it!"
They both huffed in frustration. The two bickering friends were at Seraphina's dorm, they were supposedly supposed to bring something to the Wellston New Years Eve Party. But at this rate, they weren't going anywhere.
"Why don't we stop arguing like children," Seraphina suggested angrily, "and bake something for the party?"
The boy merely glared at her, "I'm not baking, you are."
Seraphina began to grow irritated, "and why would I accept that?"
"Because I'm your friend."
Seraphina muttered something under her breath. "Fine, But it's only because your my friend."
She glided towards the kitchen, where she picked up the sugar cookie recipe. John sat on the couch and put his elbow on the side.
"Oh come on!" Seraphina groaned, "I get that you don't want to cook. But you don't have to stare at me while I make the cookies!"
John simply smirked, "I can do whatever I want." He told her.
She huffed in annoyance, and proceeded to collect the ingredients for the recipe. After mixing most of the ingredients, she turned to the counter to put the flour, and it wasn't there.
Now Seraphina was no idiot, so she knew that only one person could have taken it. She turned around fast, hoping that he wasn't somewhere plotting her demise.
Unfortunately, the young boy was gone, and so was the flour.
'Breathe Seraphina," she tried to calm herself down, "just breathe."
After a while, she stood up. She knew one thing, if anything was to attract her friend, it was his impatience. So she sat on the counter, and began to flip through the recipe book. Waiting.
Minutes past, and the young boy hidden in the shadows of the girls room, began to grow impatient. Just as the girl suspected, he slowly crawled through the door, and kneeling down, he saw his friend reading a book.
He moved slowly, trying not to get her attention. His footsteps weren't audible, and his uneven breathes were cut short.
When he was close enough, he jumped up, hiding the flour behind him.
The girl yawned, "about time, where were you?"
John walked closer, "yeah... I got something to tell you."
"Okay?" Seraphina replied.
The raven head knew this was his chance, so he stood in front of her, and he activated his ability. This gave him inhuman strength, and before the young girl could stop it, the flour package spilled out in front of her.
Her eyes widened, but she wasn't in the best condition to run. So she endured it as it fell on her.
"What. The. HELL???!!!" Seraphina stood up, her eyes glowed furiously, and she pounced on her friend who was laughing his head off.
He didn't expect it, so the two fell down, getting the floor messy with flour.
"What were you thinking??!!" The girl asked enraged.
"You were... ha ha... so funny... ha....you should have seen... ha... your face!!!," John was laughing, the thought of his best friend with that look on her face was priceless.
Seraphina had decided that once he got into it, there was no going back. So she went back to the batter she had made, and picked it up. It was a little moist, and very sticky. She grinned just thinking about it.
John still hadn't recovered from his laughter, so he didn't notice when she came behind him.
She dusted most of the flour off of her uniform, cursing John under her breath. She grabbed his shoulders, and sat him up.
"What... ha.... is it now?" He asked breathlessly.
She picked up the batter, "Nothing." She told him nonchalantly.
He turned to her, suddenly suspicious. But it was too late.
She stick the blob of batter on his hair. And she patted on, making sure that it would stick.
John stared at her, confused.
"Your hair," She hinted.
She looked at it, and it was her turn to burst out laughing. "It looks... haha.... like a blob... ha.... on your hair!!" She pointed to his raven hair that was now covered in a big lump of sticky batter.
John touched his head unsure, and he began to widen his eyes when he noticed that there was indeed something is his hair.
He went to the washroom, and looked at the mirror.
Now, Seraphina was a lot more prepared than John had been. So as he looked at the mirror, she snapped a photo of him, continuing to laugh.
John had a scared look on his face when he saw what it was. "SERA!!!!!" He tried to pull it out, but it didn't seem to work.
The girl ran into her room, locking her door. She had a feeling that he would most likely come for her soon enough.
She looked at her dresser, and pulled out some new clothes that she later put on. Since the flour didn't stick to her skin, the only thing now, was her hair.
She took off her extensions, and began to shake off most of the flour from her hair. After cleaning herself up, she silently opened the door. Hoping that John wouldn't be waiting outside.
John was currently in the washroom, pinching himself, and trying to convince himself that this was a dream, and that he didn't have a blob of batter on his head.
When he realized that it wasn't a fantasy, and that this was his reality. He began to spit profanities out of his mouth.
He tried with water to get it out.
Didn't work.
He tried to simply pull it out.
Didn't work.
He tried with a towel to get it out.
Didn't work.
He stormed over to the young girls room. He slid the door open, and she wasn't there.
He began to get agitated, and walked back to the kitchen, trying to see if she was there.
Seraphina was currently dusting off the remains of the flour that had been left out. When she finished, she looked up to see a very angry John.
"Any luck?" She asked.
"Well what does it look like." He responded, infuriated.
She gave him a thumbs up, "it suits you!"
John had a limit, and she had currently passed it. So he marched towards her, fuelled by anger.
The girl began to make her way out of the kitchen, she knew that at this point. There was no way they would be able to go to the New Years party at Wellston. So she decided to tease him once more.
"John." She turned to him, opening that door that led to the dorm hallways. "I need to go to a few places, okay?"
John looked at her in distress. "What about my hair?" He asked.
She smiled, "don't worry, I'm going out to town to see if there is something that could get it off. Okay?"
He shrugged, "you better be fast."
She now smirked, this is where it got funny. "John, the thing is, I didn't really want to leave this memory to waste, so..." She pulled out her phone and went to photos, making sure to show him a specific photo. "I'm just going to send these around."
He looked at her in horror. "You wouldn't."
She smirked, "you know I would."
He fell to his knees, "please Sera! Mercy!"
She shook her head, "Not today my friend."
She walked out the door, and cast one last glance at her friend.
"Happy New Years John....."
