Random BG3 blurb:
Tumblr media
The war between the demons and devils are over, finally. Karlach is shell-shocked and exhausted walking inside the bar. The people inside the bar stared too frightened and shocked to move or scream as she walked with no thoughts as she plopped onto a stool, her tail moving out of the way to not get sat on. The bartenders were too scared to approach her as the silence becomes deafening. Her breathing is slow and deep before it shudders into sobbing, covering her face as she cried and screamed into her hands shaking from reliving her torment. "It's finally over, why am I not happy? Why won't the memories go the fuck away?!?" Her voice cracks through her crying. The workers and patrons still were frozen in fear. A demon looking creature is crying infront of them. Should they help? Should they run? It felt like an fearful, but awkward eternity before an old man walked by and sat next to her. The man was tanned and wrinkled by sun and age, his hair both on his face and his head was white as snow despite the yellowing staining of beer and whiskey where it would meet his mustache and beard. "Hey barman! Gimmie two glasses and a bottle of my usual for me and my new freind!" He gruffly shouted, making the bartender jump before stammering "Y-yes sir!". The bartender quickly grabbed two glasses and the old man's drink, a brown liquid with a strong scent. The bartender put ice in the glasses and poured the liquid into the glasses and left the bottle. The old man pushed the second glass of whiskey to the marred soldier. Karlach still sobbed a bit as her trembling hand grabbed the glass and knocked back the drink and grimaced in reaction to it. "Strong ain't it? It helps with the flashbacks a bit. Have another soldier, it will steady your nerves and put hair on your chest." He said as he poured her another glass before knocking his own glass back. "H-how did you know I was a soldier?" Karlach gasped out after knocking backing back her second glass. The 2nd time around the grimace was less prominent. "One soldier can recognize another. Wanna smoke? I got me an ol stogie." The old man looked down smiling a bit while pulling out a cigar. "God's yes, it's been a while since I had one of these." He offered her a lighter, but she put her hand up and was able to light her thumb on fire and light hers and the old man's.

Today we mourn the untimely passing of AKIRA TORIYAMA the creator of the legendary Dragon Ball/ Dragon Ball Z series, one of the most iconic and recognizable manga to come out of Japan and has defined a generation of manga/anime fans and artists worldwide and to this day serves as major influence on all aspects of popular culture. Unfortunately for his fans there are no real Dragon Balls to bring him back, but he will certainly live on in hearts of millions and he will watch happily from the comfort of the clouds in heaven.

Looking for something to put in this old Walmart frame I found at goodwill. It's gotta be from the 80s because it's ceramic and the Walmart sticker is that classic old west font.

5 SECOND REVIEW
Tumblr media
* what a book, what a story, someone hold me, i'm weak
* this is the story of women who worked at a company that made luminous dials for watches, and these women painted them, using paint with radium in it, during a time when radium was considered a beneficial substance
* with time, they started to develop medical conditions, as a direct consequence of their work with radium, because they were told there were no risks involved, and the technique they were taught was to put the brushes in their mouth, moisten them, dip them in the paint, paint, and then repeat
* after they started developing these medical conditions (horrifying, it was so difficult to read about them), they started a legal fight that lasted decades, in order to get compensation for their conditions and make the company pay legally for the harm it caused
* i cannot recommend this book enough
* the strength and power of these remarkable women, during a time when women were still struggling to get rights, is just... wow, i was in awe
* pls read this, but be warned - it's a difficult read
* 5/5 ⭐️

Queen of damnation intro
Tumblr media
“Karlach, you don’t look well. Are you having more dreams again?” Gale asked, seeing her move steadily slower over the past few nights.
“Yeah, some of the people change, but the place is the same. Last night…I saw a woman chained up, and I kept hearing whispering. I haven’t heard these voices since I was in Avernus.” She forces herself to try and wake up. Her stride in walking is slower than normal. She has been more moody and less hungry.
“If you are fine with it, I can try to find a way to join you in the dream. Maybe we can find a reason why you are having a hard time staying asleep.” Gale suggested.
“No, I’ll be okay. Maybe I just need to try something different but thank you Gale.” Karlach said smiling tiredly at Gale. She decided to get a few drinks that night, maybe loosening up a bit would help.
Dazed, Karlach felt the sensation of weightlessness as she moved through an old building. This has been the same dream she could almost recite now the words being shouted in the rooms.
“We all are sinners in our god’s eyes, we must beg for his forgiveness my children. We must give all that we possess as a sacrifice. If our god wants gold, we give him gold. If he wants our homes, we will give it openly. If he wants our vary lives to protect him from the evil outside, we will give our lives gladly! But for now, he only wants us to bring a lost lamb to him so he can forgive and embrace them. My brother, Please bring forth our lost lambs of God.”
The preacher said as he proselytizes   behind his pew. The old single room church was a shadow of days gone by of old Baptist southern churches one would see long abandoned. The once white paint became a molded shade of brown showing the wood underneath, a faded image of Jesus collected dust with a sign saying to look upon him. Karlach can see the details of these people, it is clear they are all infected with the tadpoles with their veins darkening and eyes almost glowing in the low light. They seem to ignore her, even as she stood in front of one and stared at the dazed man in front of her. Maybe it’s all her head dreaming, maybe they are too much into their trance to notice her. Despite her always feeling warmer than other people, seeing such a massive group of these infected people made her shake with a chill that runs down her spine.
The congregation sat and watched happily as the preacher’s lackey brought a group of people, all tied together with a rope. Their ages ranging from people as late teenagers to adults, all in a range of expressions from broken, to fear. As Karlach watched the procession, she heard whispers in her head again to the point of annoyance.
“Save her.”
“She is his most beloved child.”
“Only you can save her.”
“SAVE HER!”
⚠️ ⚠️warning it gets graphic ⚠️ ⚠️
The voices whisper-yelled in a childlike panic mixed as if the voices in all the hells were calling out.  She saw the first “Lamb”, a young man he looked dazed, possibly under some-sort of spell, or possibly drugged as he was brought before the preacher. The preacher reaches for something inside a bowl, pulling out the dreaded tadpole as it was brought to the man’s face before it finally crawled behind his eye. The congregation cheered a unison “Hallelujah!” Just as suddenly their cheer started it stopped. Next a girl, she was well aware and awake. She screamed, kicked, trashed, and struggled as the preacher tried to put the tadpole by her eye. She struggled and let out a painfilled scream as it went inside her. Moments later she was grabbed as she started to go into a daze. She was led along with the young man before her setting them into the pew rewarding her with the shout of praise. Karlach felt sadness for these people and felt sick seeing these people being infected, even if they were aware.
A small, old man was brought before the preacher, the man being clearly too old to take the tadpole, he was taken to a tub that was on a pedestal behind where the preacher stood.
“You my good man are going to be a good sacrifice for god, he will reward your sacrifice in loyalty to him!” The old man was praying out loud as he was laid into the water and his screaks of pain were momentarily, he jerked out of the water, flesh melted and fell of his bones, his organs fell out of his cavity and fell into the tub with a sickening sloshing sound, making her almost vomit from the sound and smell of melting and burning flesh.
The man’s pain finally ended in his death again gleeful, almost rapturous cheering from the congregation. The final woman Karlach saw before in previous nightmares. Prior she weas chained in the lower levels of the church singing something softly as if she was trying to keep at least a part of her sanity. As she was brought forward, the woman started to struggle for freedom. The whispers in Karlach’s ears attract her attention again making her realize the woman is the source of the voices in her head. The preacher started to pray and was grabbing a tadpole, she headbutted his face with a sickening crack of his frontal bones earning a shriek of pain. She fell back, revealing she had a small knife on her as she was able to escape and ran grabbing her bag she found nearby. She ran past the congregation, narrowly escaping their grasp as they tried to call her. The preacher stood up, blood a mix of his own and the blood common with mindflayers dripped from his eye, nose and mouth.
“We mustn’t let her escape! Our god commands it!”
The entrance was locked as she shook the door violently. Karlach ran to her and started to push on the door next to the woman, her engine thumped with her increasing stress, she couldn’t let anyone else get infected, she had to do something. The congregation moved ever closer to the woman as she desperately rammed her body into the locked chapel doors, old but still heavy.
“No! You’re not infecting anyone else not again, NEVER AGAIN!” She shouted, the door suddenly caught fire, the old wood easily weakened as the woman shoved it open, despite the pain from the heat. The door finally gave way making the woman fall outside into the rain. Thunder and lightning rolled like the wrath of the gods were arriving to punish the church members. The woman and Karlach ran past the small graveyard, the woman and Karlach turned witnessing the church quickly spreading the fire, engulfing the congregation, the woman let out a guttural scream as testament to her pain and suffering she was now seemingly free from.
The preacher walks through the fire, the ability of the mindflayer evident as he was in the middle of the change holding his rifle. He aimed his weapon and with a loud crack, Karlach witnessed the woman’s eyes widen as she looked like something hit her. Time slowed again as the woman fell to the dirt, blood pooling where her heart would be. Not wanting this hell to repeat anymore, Karlach became determined to save her as she grabbed the falling woman. Instead of previous times where objects went through her, Karlach felt the heft of the woman’s body and the raining swamp before them disappeared to the forest outside the grove. She was back, she saw the woman was bleeding profusely as panic went through the tiefing.
“Oh, gods no, NO! HANG IN THERE! GALE?! SHADOWHEART?! She screamed for Shaowheart and Gale carrying the bleeding woman, the blood now pouring as Karlach tried to keep pressure on the wound.
“What’s the matter- oh gods!” Gale shouted helping Karlach with the bleeding.
“Let me try to heal her. There’s something inside her body, I'll try to pull it out.” Shadowheart said.
Shadowheart works her magic quickly, her magic pulls a small metal object, like a small, blunt arrowhead. While Shadowheart tries to heal the woman, her hand gripping Karlach tight almost painfully as her vision started to fade into darkness.

I am thinking about switching more cunty tech from the 90s and early 2000s. Like can we make smart devices look like them or turn the old stuff into this? Hell, I'll take a bedazzled Playstation and call my Slaystation!
