Tips for Maintaining a Normal Blood Pressure Level
Tumblr media
Normal Blood Pressure Level
Since maintaining a healthy blood pressure is so important for your body, this article will discuss a few ideas to help you lower your blood pressure if it is high, or maintain it at a normal level. Blood pressure has an important bearing on many of the body’s vital organ systems, including the heart, the circulatory system, the kidneys, and the brain. That’s why taking care of your blood pressure and keeping blood pressure at a normal level can add years to your life and also give you the energy and health to enjoy the time you have.
Age and Normal Blood Pressure
As you get older, your arteries become more rigid, causing your heart to have to work harder to pump against increased resistance. For that reason, it becomes increasingly important to monitor your blood pressure and take steps to reduce blood pressure to a more normal level.
Weight and Blood Pressure
One of the most important ways you can do this is by controlling your weight. Did you know that every pound of fat in your body contains an average of 200 miles of capillaries? Capillaries are the threadlike vessels that carry blood cells to the most remote locations in your tissues, so every time you add a pound of body weight, your heart must pump blood through an additional 200 miles of blood vessels! Not only that, but the additional weight means your body must work harder to support you against gravity and to move you around. That’s why maintaining a healthy weight and a low body fat ratio can do so much to promote a normal blood pressure level. Eating a diet low in fat, controlling your portion size, and maintaining a regular exercise program can also help you lower and maintain your optimal weight, which, in turn, helps you retain a normal blood pressure level.
Diet and Blood Pressure
As we’ve already discussed, your diet affects your weight, which can directly affect your blood pressure. But there are also certain foods that can actually help reduce your blood pressure, as well. For one thing, reducing the salt in your diet will help lower your blood pressure to normal levels. Also, skim milk, which is low in fat, is a healthy choice for reducing blood pressure. Dark chocolate, it turns out—if eaten in portions of half an ounce or less per day—has been shown to have beneficial effects on blood pressure. Soybeans, bananas, spinach, and beans (white, navy, lima, pinto, and kidney) are also good foods to help maintain normal blood pressure levels. Finally, spicy seasonings have been shown to indicate lower incidence of blood clotting diseases, and the increased metabolism they can generate can also help you lose weight.

What is Considered Normal Adult Blood Pressure?
Tumblr media
Normal Adult Blood Pressure?
Blood pressure is the force exerted against the walls of the arteries and veins by blood as it circulates through the body. Blood pressure is one of the body’s most important vital signs, and should be carefully monitored, especially by persons who have or are at risk for abnormally high blood pressure, also known as hypertension. But what, exactly, is a “normal” blood pressure level for adults?
While there is no single answer, since individuals’ vital signs can vary significantly by age, weight, general health, body type, and other variables, there are ranges that are considered normal for adult blood pressure. Knowing these ranges for your blood pressure is very important, and keeping tabs on your blood pressure level can help you maintain awareness of your cardiac health.
Why Worry about Normal Blood Pressure in Adults?
High blood pressure can indicate or contribute to the presence of serious health conditions, including heart disease, arterial aneurysm, stroke, enlargement of the heart, and kidney disease. Persons suffering from diabetes should also carefully monitor their blood pressure. For these reasons, maintaining blood pressure within a normal range is one of the most important things you can do for yourself.
How is Blood Pressure Measured?
Usually, blood pressure is measured using an instrument called a sphygmomanometer. The sphygmomanometer has a cuff that can be placed around the arm and inflated with air, putting pressure on the arteries in the arm. The pressure squeezes the artery closed. By placing a stethoscope on the area of the arm over the artery and below the cuff, an examiner can listen for the sound of the pulse of blood returning to the artery as pressure is slowly released, noting the pressure at which the pulse returns. The pressure reading at which the blood returns is the “systolic” blood pressure. The point at which no further sounds can be heard because of the full return of blood volume is the “diastolic” blood pressure. A blood pressure reading is stated as the systolic number followed by the diastolic number.
Normal Ranges
For adults, a normal blood pressure reading is usually considered to be in the range between 90/60 to 119/79 (systolic/diastolic). Blood pressure from the 120/80 to 139/89 range is considered “pre-hypertensic,” and should be closely monitored. Measurements higher than the pre-hypertensic ranges fall within either type 1 or type 2 hypertension. If your blood pressure is higher than normal for adults, your physician may advise medication to lower your blood pressure into a normal adult range.

A Guide to Getting A Normal Blood Pressure Reading
Tumblr media
Normal Blood Pressure Reading
Normal adult blood pressure has a systolic reading of between 90 and 119 mmHg and a diastolic measure of between 60 and 79. The older you get, the higher your blood pressure reading is likely to be. According to statistics at least one quarter of Americans have high blood pressure or hypertension.
The problem with hypertension is that it is often asymptomatic so many people don’t even realize they have it. Hypertension is often called the silent killer because of the lack of symptoms and the fact that severe cases can lead to major health problems such as heart failure, renal damage, partial loss of sight, blindness, heart attack, stroke, mini stroke, aneurysm and death. The good news is that if you have hypertension there is a great deal that you can do in order to help yourself get down to a consistent normal blood pressure reading.
Exercise And Weight Management
Obesity contributes to prehypertension and hypertension, so if you are overweight you need to lose the excess pounds if you wish to get down to a normal blood pressure reading. You can do this by restricting your calorie intake and cutting most of the sugar and saturated fat from your diet. This can lower your risk of hypertension related health conditions significantly, so do yourself a favor and throw your ice cream and candy bars into the trash can.
Exercise can also help anybody who would like to see a normal blood pressure reading. Exercise makes the heart and cardiovascular system stronger as well as contributing to weight loss and lowering the blood pressure. Over time regular exercise can cut the risk of developing ailments associated with hypertension in half.
Quit Your Bad Habits
Nicotine, caffeine and alcohol can all contribute to the problem of hypertension. Therefore if you are serious about acquiring a consistent normal blood pressure reading it is in your best interest to eliminate or at least cut back on vices such as coffee, beer, whiskey, cigarettes, wine, cigars and chewing tobacco.
Get The Right Essential Nutrients
Just as certain lifestyle choices can exacerbate hypertension, some foods, minerals, herbs and vitamins can help you to get a healthy normal blood pressure reading. Increase your water intake and fill up on foods such as bananas, bean sprouts, garlic, olive oil, flaxseed oil, avocados, broccoli, oats and apples. Make sure you get enough minerals such as potassium, magnesium and calcium and vitamins C, D, E.  Herbal supplements such as kelp, alphalpha, hawthorn berry and black cohosh are also purported to lower the blood pressure.
Medications
If you have made all the necessary lifestyle amendments and you still cannot get a normal blood pressure reading or if you have severe hypertension it may be time to ask your health care provider about prescription medication. There are numerous medications that can help with hypertension including diuretics, beta blockers, calcium channel blockers, ACE inhibitors and more. These medications can have side effects or interact with other medications you are taking so talk to your doctor to find out which is best for you.

The Normal Blood Pressure Range Explained
Tumblr media
Blood Pressure Range Explained
Blood pressure is the force applied to the walls of the blood vessels, arteries and veins when the heart pumps blood around the body. Blood pressure, which is counted in millimeters of mercury, has two separate readings. The systolic reading measures the blood pressure when the heart is beating or contracting.  The diastolic reading is the measure of pressure between contractions, and is always a lower figure.
In the past a normal blood pressure range was considered less than 130/85 and more than 90/60, but the parameters have changed in the past few years. Now a consistent reading of 120/80 or more is considered a sign of prehypertension, a warning to change your habits and lower your blood pressure. The new normal blood pressure range is between 90/60 and 119/79.
Lower Readings
A blood pressure measurement of 90/60 is considered borderline low. A reading of 60/40 is too low and medical treatment is required to correct it.  If a person’s blood pressure measures as little as 50/33 they are in danger of permanent damage to the internal organs because oxygen and nutrients cannot get to them.  Extremely low blood pressure or hypotension can cause coma or death. Very young children and athletes generally have measurements at the lower end of the normal blood pressure range.
Higher Readings
If your blood pressure readings are consistently between 120/80 and 140/90 you do not have hypertension, but you could be headed in that direction if you do not change your ways. A reading of 120/80 is now at the top of the normal blood pressure range. A normal blood pressure reading should ideally be less than 120/80 so if yours is higher you might want do more exercise eat less junk food and cut down on salt, sugar, alcohol, nicotine and saturated fat.
If your blood pressure reading is between 140/90 and 160/100 you have stage one hypertension. You should try to amend your lifestyle and if that isn’t enough to get you down to a normal blood pressure range then perhaps you should ask your doctor about prescription medication.
If your blood pressure exceeds 160/100 you definitely require medication to correct the problem because you are at very high risk of cardiovascular disease, stroke, aneurysm or renal failure. Bear in mind that severe hypertension puts excessive tension on the heart and can cause the blood vessels in major organs to burst open. Severe hypertension can and does kill people every day.
Regular Testing
Regular blood pressure testing is very important for several reasons. First, one test is not enough to determine if your measurements are within the normal blood pressure range. Everybody’s blood pressure changes quite radically according to how relaxed they feel and what they happen to be doing. Several tests are needed to determine a person’s average blood pressure.
Furthermore, it is only through regular testing that you can determine whether your blood pressure is lower or higher than it should be. Therefore you should get regular tests from your health care provider. Alternatively you could purchase a home monitor so that you can test to see if your measurements are within the normal blood pressure range as and when you wish to.

What are the Effects of Age on Normal Blood Pressure?
Tumblr media
Normal Blood Pressure?
We all know that blood pressure is one of the most important indicators of overall health and physical condition. After all, that’s why they call it a “vital sign.” But as we get older, our blood pressure tends to rise. In the past, doctors often chose not to treat high blood pressure in older adults, since it was considered “normal” for blood pressure to rise with age. However, more recent research has shown that it is important to control blood pressure for individuals of all ages, since normal blood pressure contributes to lowered risk of stroke, healthy kidney function, healthier hearts, and many other enhancements to health in the later stages of life.
What Happens to Your Circulatory System as You Get Older
As with many organs and tissues of the body, the arteries become more rigid as you get older. This means that they offer increased resistance to the heart as it pumps the blood through them into the body’s tissues. Over time, this increased resistance, if left unattended, can cause the heart’s muscles to thicken, making them less pliant and efficient as a pumping mechanism.
The measures of blood pressure, the systolic and diastolic pressure readings (the first and second numbers in a blood pressure reading), normally change with age—but often in opposite directions. Because the heart is required to pump harder to move blood through stiffening arteries, the systolic reading—the pressure at which blood first begins to move through the artery pinched shut by the inflated cuff on the sphygmomanometer—gets higher, because the blood is being forced through harder.
The diastolic reading—the pressure when the blood flow returns to full volume as the air pressure is reduced in the cuff of the sphygmomanometer—often gets lower, due in part to the artery’s reduced pliability, meaning that it takes longer to fully relax and allow blood flow to resume. The difference between your systolic and diastolic readings—your pulse pressure—is an important measure of your arterial health. The wider the difference, the stiffer your arteries are, and the more carefully you need to monitor your blood pressure.
Why Normal Blood Pressure is Important at Any Age
Even if you feel fine, high blood pressure can still harm you. It can cause damage to organs and tissues, can lead to decreased mental function and loss of memory, and is a principal cause of strokes. As already mentioned, it can also lead to reduced heart function, or even heart attack. Just because you’re getting older doesn’t mean you shouldn’t monitor and treat high blood pressure. Find out what a normal blood pressure is for your age and condition, and work on maintaining it.

Endeavor to Sustain Normal Blood Pressure
Tumblr media
Sustaining Normal Blood Pressure
Blood pressure is a medical terminology for describing the force of the blood that the heart exerts on the veins, arteries and the rest of the blood vessels. Systolic and diastolic blood pressures are the 2 types of blood pressure. When there is contraction of the heart muscles, systolic blood pressure is exerted. The second type; diastolic blood pressure is measured among heart beats. Generally, the standard measurement for blood pressure is in mmHg (millimeters of mercury) with a device known as sphygmomanometer.
Not until the recent time, normal blood pressure was taken to be a systolic measurement of about 120 and a diastolic measurement approximated to 80. But the in-depth research carried out by the AHF (American Heart Foundation) affirm that normal blood pressure measures less than 120 (systolic) and 80 (diastolic). The present state of measurement of normal blood pressure is 90/60 and 120/80. This measurement is not fixed; a person’s blood pressure measurement can be influenced by some factors
Age Factor
Age is a likely to be a determiner or influencer of an individual’s blood pressure measurement. For instance, the blood pressure of a young person usually measures lower than that of an adult. In all, increase in a person’s age will also bring about an increase in the blood pressure measurement. Notwithstanding, the problem of obesity that we are facing here in US, is even showing the blood pressure measurement of young people reading higher than it ought to be giving their young ages. Well, it is possible to maintain a normal blood pressure as one’s age increases; don’t hide under the cloak of age and allow your blood pressure run abnormally. For an older person, the normal blood pressure may read higher; but people of this age range are more prone to the cardiovascular issues that are related to hypertension.
Various Times Of The Day
A normal blood pressure measurement is rare since it can change by 40 points or above based on the activity that an individual is involved in per time. A person undergoing a stressful moment or a person engaged in a vigorous physical activity is likely to have a higher measurement. On the contrary, someone at a state of rest or relaxation is likely to have a low reading of blood pressure measurement; if it is not so, then a problem is looming.
The Time To Embark On Treatment
When your blood pressure is at a steady static measurement of 120/80 and 139/89, this is a case of prehypertension. At this time, you have to take certain measures to avoid having hypertension. Such measures include eating healthy foods that has minute amount of saturated fat, sugar, salt or fat. Minimize or completely avoid caffeine and alcohol intake; then you have to entirely stop using nicotine products. Regular exercise will be very helpful. Also the correct vitamins and minerals will help reduce your blood pressure.
If your blood pressure has been taken consecutively more than once with a stable reading of 140/90 or more; this is a sure situation of hypertension. The case of hypertension is more vulnerable to health issues such as heart attach, stroke, renal failure or heart failure than people that have normal blood pressure. At this time, it is urgent for you to adjust your way of living and to constantly visit your health care provider for medical prescriptions that will rectify the problem
Normal blood pressure is worth having; but the case of too low blood pressure measurement is rather not a good indication at all. A systolic reading of less than 90; and a diastolic reading of less than 60 is a case of hypotension. An extreme case of hypotension can cause damage to organ or failure of organ. This case requires urgent medical attention and treatment.

An Explanation Of What the Significance Of Normal Blood Pressure Range Is
Tumblr media
Normal Blood Pressure Range
Because of the fact that most Americans suffer from high blood pressure problems it has certainly become a lot more necessary for every American to understand and know what normal blood pressure range is all about. Unfortunately, however, each individual will have their unique blood pressure readings and these will vary even if they do not suffer from hypertension. Another interesting fact related to understanding normal blood pressure range is that blood pressure tends to rise in the early hours of the morning and will be at its lowest at night.
Changes In Blood Pressure
The more active a person is the more it is likely that their blood pressure will rise and in addition how healthy or otherwise a person’s kidneys are too can affect the blood pressure readings. In fact, a person’s body position too can affect their blood pressure and so it pays to look at several factors before assessing your normal blood pressure range.
At present, normal blood pressure range is believed to be 120 (systolic pressure) and 80 (diastolic pressure.) When the systolic blood pressure reading rises to between one hundred and thirty and one hundred and thirty-nine the reading will be considered high while reading of between 99 (systolic) and 64 (diastolic) is considered as being low blood pressure readings. However, these same low readings are considered as normal blood pressure range when they relate to children and even athletes.
In fact, over the recent past what is considered the normal blood pressure range has undergone certain changes on account of new research findings on how blood pressure affects a person’s health. What’s more, the fact is that children as well as infants will have a normal blood pressure range that is considerably lower than in the case of adults. Furthermore, in the industrialized world the normal blood pressure range tends to rise as people age.
It will certainly be a good idea to buy a home blood pressure monitor which can be used on a daily basis at fixed times to get a reading on your blood pressure. Since blood pressure varies throughout the day you can get a fix on your true blood pressure by checking for it each day at the same time which is a far better way of assessing your blood pressure than visiting a doctor occasionally to get a reading done.
In regard to normal blood pressure for men, it has been found that the blood pressure will change according to activities being performed by men and also according to state of their bodies. It is certainly recommended knows your blood pressure by having regular check-ups done – either at home or at a doctor’s office.

Know What Normal Blood Pressure for Men Is, and How It Changes
Tumblr media
Normal Blood Pressure for Men
Because both men and women have a tendency to suffer from high blood pressure it certainly makes a lot of sense to find out more about how to keep their blood pressure under control. Not only are there an estimated over sixty-five million Americans suffering from high blood pressure but millions more are at risk of joining these ranks. In fact, more than fifty percent of Americans aged sixty or above have high blood pressure and the risk of developing high blood pressure for a normal American male is about ninety percent.
Age Matters
When it concerns finding out what normal blood pressure for men is the first thing that you need to understand is that as you age the chances of developing a blood pressure condition rises. In fact, it is hard to maintain normal blood pressure for men in the case of males that have attained their mid-forties age as their blood pressure levels will show a tendency of rising above normal. Then again, if you are an African-American male, you could again lose your ability to maintain normal blood pressure for men even while you are quite young because it has been found that African-American males tend to develop high blood pressure at a younger age.
Obesity and even a family history of high blood pressure are other reasons why men need to start worrying that they no longer are able to maintain blood pressure that is normal for men. What’s more, high blood pressure in both men and women is a serious condition that can even develop and affect you for many years before you even become aware that you have a problem. In fact, an estimated one third of Americans suffer from high blood pressure without knowing about the problem.
The good news is that you can take heart from the fact that it is easy to maintain normal blood pressure for men by taking a few precautions. With these precautionary measures it is possible to maintain normal blood pressure for men which are believed to be a reading of 120/80 with the first number related to systolic pressure while the second number relates to diastolic blood pressure.
Furthermore, pre-hypertension among men is any systolic reading of between one hundred and twenty and one hundred and thirty-nine and a diastolic reading of between eighty and eighty nine. Systolic readings refer to when the heart beats while diastolic readings refer to a resting heart.
Hypertension in men occurs when their blood pressure readings show systolic reading of one hundred and forty and diastolic reading of ninety.
It is also necessary to understand normal blood pressure for women. In fact, women in their mid-fifties will generally have higher risk of developing high blood pressure as compared to their male counterparts. This is why keeping a close tab on their blood pressure levels is so necessary.

Normal Blood Pressure for Women Is Different to That Of Men’s Blood Pressure Levels
Tumblr media
Women and Men’s Blood Pressure Levels
If you are a woman that wishes to learn more about what normal blood pressure for women is then you might want to try using Heart360™ that is an online resource that has helped many women manage their hearts and its blood pressure levels. Heart360™ is really a number of tools that help women track as well as monitor their blood pressure and even their cholesterol and blood glucose levels.
Provide Information To Heart360™
To use Heart360™ to learn about normal blood pressure for women you have to first enter some pertinent information into a tool which will over a period of time help you create a very useful profile of the current state of your health.
Most women believe that there is need to find out how to maintain blood pressure that is normal for women. Unfortunately, as yet doctors have not been able to understand the precise reasons why women (and even males) suffer from high blood pressure. Of course, the common conception is that not being able to maintain blood pressure that is normal for women is a result of lack of exercise, overwork, frequent cocktail lunches and smoking as well as eating the wrong foods.
It is also believed that of the estimated more than seventy million Americans that suffer from high blood pressure more than half of them are women and more worryingly only a very tiny percentage of them that are not able to maintain normal blood pressure for women are actually able to even get their high blood pressure condition treated adequately.
In any case, blood pressure that is normal for women is believed to be a reading of 117/74 in which the first number is the systolic reading (when the heart beats) and the second number is the diastolic reading (when the heart is resting). It is quite normal to find that maintaining blood pressure that is normal for women becomes harder when women become nervous or excited though fortunately when these feelings pass the readings will return to normal once more.
Blood pressure reading that is normal for women is in fact different than is the case with men and is actually 117/74. And, when the reading is 120-139/80-89 doctors will perhaps have to treat this pre-hypertension reading with medications to bring the levels back into the blood pressure range that is normal for women. Readings of 140/90 or more are a reason to be alarmed which is when doctors will recommend taking of drug therapies and making changes to lifestyle in order to regain normal blood pressure readings for women.
It is important that both men and women do their best to maintain normal blood pressure levels. The simple truth is that high blood pressure in either gender can lead to strokes and heart attacks and because such a condition is not easily identifiable it is also known as a silent killer. Keeping tabs on your blood pressure on a regular basis is one what to find out whether your blood pressure is at normal levels or elevated or even depressed.

Normal Blood Pressure for Kids
Blood pressure is the pressure that is exerted by the blood on the arteries. It is however certainly very important that in the case of children that you understand that normal blood pressure for kids is not the same as normal blood pressure for adults. This means that you will do well to take help of certain guidelines that help determine what normal blood pressure for kids is and how they differ from that of adults. In other words, as a parent that is worried about their kids’ blood pressure it is important that you understand how normal blood pressure for kids is different than for adults.
Gender, Age And Height
In fact, normal blood pressure for kids will vary and there are three major reasons why such variation occurs and these reasons are height, gender and age. When it concerns male children the normal blood pressure for kids will be higher than is the case with female children of the same age. Furthermore, normal blood pressure for kids among especially tall children is also sure to be higher than their shorter counterparts – even when both types of kids are of the same age.
The average normal blood pressure for kids and female children in particular tends to be less than one hundred and six by sixty eight while for male children these readings are a bit higher. Furthermore, normal blood pressure for kids is the same across racial types and so American, Asian and African children will generally show the same range of normal blood pressure – as long as they are of the same age and height as well as gender.
However, children that belong to affluent and well-off families tend to have a problem maintaining normal blood pressure – mainly because they tend to eat excessive amounts of junk and processed foods. Such class of children always has easy access to junk and processed foods and as a consequence consumes more of it and so has problems maintaining normal blood pressure for kids.

An Introduction to Normal Blood Pressure
Tumblr media
Normal Blood Pressure
For quite a long time the term normal blood pressure meant having blood pressure reading of 120/80 with the first number referring to systolic blood pressure and the second to diastolic blood pressure. Of late, however, the American Heart Association has made changes to the definition of normal blood pressure which now refers to less than 120/less than 80 as the new readings. The results of research on the effects of blood pressure over a longer period of time revealed that the new readings were more appropriate.
Changed Cut-Off Values
In fact, the American Heart Association has gone further than simply redefining what normal blood pressure is by also changing cut-off values for various stages of high blood pressure. All these changes have been affected because of the findings of research that revealed that there was greater risk of suffering a heart attack and other forms of illness whenever blood pressure rose.
The truth of the fact is that blood pressure refers to a measurement that shows how much pressure is created whenever the heart pumps out blood that travels through the veins as well as arteries. There is a difference between normal blood pressure readings in adults and children with the latter having a slightly lesser blood pressure reading while seniors will have slightly elevated blood pressure reading. A reading of 140/90 or higher is not good for you and so should be treated at the earliest. This could mean having to make changes to your diet and also having to take medications. It should however be every person’s endeavor to maintain normal blood pressure.
The two blood pressure values that are measured refer to systolic pressure and diastolic pressure. The first named refers to the high point which is when the heart begins to contract in order to push blood out into the body. There are Many Benefits to Using A Normal Blood Pressure Chart
Tumblr media
Normal Blood Pressure Chart
There is a rising incidence of deaths among Americans that are directly attributable to suffering from elevated blood pressure conditions. This means that today every American needs to understand what normal blood pressure levels are and how is it possible to achieve a state where their blood pressure does not exceed or fall below desired levels.
Many different methods have been tried out by, among others, the American Heart Association and National Heart Lung and Blood Institute or NHLBI of the National Institutes of Health or NIH to defeat this silent killer of a disease and the level of awareness regarding blood pressure (normal, high and low) too has also increased. Identifying a blood pressure problem has become much easier today which is certainly good news for everyone.
Find Out About Different Blood Pressure Levels
An important factor in combating high blood pressure and even low blood pressure problems is to make use of a normal blood pressure chart that elucidates the different levels of blood pressure that a person may have at any given point of time in the day or even at any point of time in their lives. There are certainly several important benefits to be had by consulting a normal blood pressure chart.
First of all, the normal blood pressure chart helps you to understand all the facts related to the different kinds of blood pressure readings and this chart also helps to show the different ranges of normal, high and low blood pressure and this means learning about what normal range is and also when you are vulnerable to diseases and also when the blood pressure readings point to imminent danger to your health.
There are generally four separate blood pressure readings shown by a normal blood pressure chart that include normal blood pressure and also stage-2 elevated blood pressure. In addition, the normal blood pressure chart can also reveal cases of hypertension as well as hypotension and furthermore a normal blood pressure chart can also help you know what to do when the readings reveal a case of high or even low blood pressure levels.
If you consult the normal blood pressure chart and you see readings of systolic blood pressure at 120 mm Hg accompanied by diastolic blood pressure reading of 80 or less, then your blood pressure is normal. On the other hand, a systolic reading of between 120 and 139 mm Hg and diastolic reading of between eighty and eighty-nine mm Hg reveals a pre-hypertension problem.
Readings of systolic 140 – 159 mm Hg and diastolic 90 – 99 mm Hg shows that you are suffering from stage 1 hypertension while readings above 160 mm Hg (systolic) and above 100 mm Hg (diastolic) show a stage 2 hypertension case for which immediate and serious remedies need to be found.
When studying normal blood pressure for kids, it is necessary to be sure to understand that the readings for children need to be interpreted differently than when studying readings for adults. It means that parents must understand that the readings related to their kids’ blood pressure tend to be lower than for adults and that this fact should be understood in order to properly assess their kids’ blood pressure levels.
