I can't fathom calling the coli skill based bc no amount of skill would save me from taking 1 normal attack from a previous round, missing eliminate at a crucial moment, and then getting hit by two crit magic attacks in a row, killing my mire trainer.

At some point you have to admit that playing around a crit is ridiculous considering that they won't always happen to you, even if i was using two mire trainers that would suck ass so you can't even say "but you're not supposed to use a two-fodder build".

#it isn't pokemon #there is no strategy. there is one good build and four other decent builds and if RNG gets you it's over #not to mention turn order is not consistent. i have tested this multiple times #also what would the strategy even be. you do one thing the entire time (scratch-eliminate) #i know it's unfair to compare this to pokemon but the strategy there comes from type matchups and coverage #there is no coverage in doing the equivalent of typeless extreme speed over and over until you take too much damage #and every enemy is doing the same thing back #coli is fundamentally lacking in complexity. there is no challenge. only rng

Ok here’s another fun hypothetical scenario:

You’re on the auction house when by chance you see a dragon listed for 1 gem. You quickly snipe it, not even fully aware of what it is (bc hey, cheap fodder).

Upon inspection, the dragon turns out to be the very dragon of your dreams. Whatever it is, breed, colors, genes, etc, this is That dragon. However, shortly thereafter, you get a PM from the previous owner. They listed their dragon by accident, and want it back!

After thinking long and hard about the long and hard ancient I have decided the final looks for my hatches. I really like how earth primal blends into Tan Pachy and I have decided Mole here canonically doesn't have eyes. And the wind guy has to be Smooth As Hell Boyyy. I love Topcoat, I hope they'll put it on moderns some day

As the site was in maintenance I typed out and then discarded a post that read "if the new ancient has wings I will be so disappointed" and yeah. They're good enough but they literally didn't need wings. We could've had a completely plated Earth dragon where the secondary goes on the plates and it would've made perfect sense. Instead we get bald ancients who once again fail to be weird enough to justify being an ancient (since staff announced ancients with the promise that "we won't need to dress them so they can get REALLY WEIRD" and then half the breeds are still just conventional dragons that can't wear clothes)

Starting to think we'll never get a wingless ancient

#the wings are also a huge part of why posing dragons is tricky #you can't make the dragon take up too much space on the canvas because they have to leave space for the wings #and while it's fine this time look at undertides #did they REALLY need wings? did they? really? #sigh. anyway #negative
