In your soldier on au does branch ever think about signing up for the military? When he’s the age he can do it but this au got me thinking about how my older brother was in the military and how that influenced me to want to be in the military too but my family has a history with the military so idk if John Dory be in the military has influenced branch a little because they seem to be getting along.( sorry if doesn’t make sense but I just had some thoughts about it but this is a really interesting and cool au and I’m only 14 so I don’t really know how a 16 year old will think about this😅)
Oooooooohhhhh... okay, okay, okay I got this lol
This is entirely possible. Especially since John was 17 when he signed up and Branch is not that much younger now. I think he would probably consider it at some point, at the very least, although if John knew, he'd probably be like... now I know what Dickory was trying to do with his brother lol so it might be a theme lol.
I think Branch might consider it at some point; especially when John talks about the good things, the places he's been, the people he has met, the squad that became his family. And since Branch has a kind of disconnect from his brothers, he might think this is kind of a good idea. However, on the other hand, with John's new predicament and disability, Branch also gets a bit of a seat into what can - and even often does - happen when in that type of environment.
John lost his leg. And no matter how strong and capable he is or becomes, that is something he does have to struggle with because it is a huge, huge adjustment, especially at his age. So Branch could also very well be faced with what if John hadn't survived? Branch would have never have met him. What if Branch did the join the military and didn't survive?
In the end, he might consider even have a phase of daydreaming about it for a bit. But at the end of the day, he won't. He ends up gaining that family and relationships that he was longing for, mostly when he is in Hawaii with John (and by proxy, Bruce). Rosiepuff might even sell her house and end up moving them there because of it.
Branch gets friends and close relationships. Not just with John, but with other people too. Tresillo and the rest of John's squad actually get close with Branch too. He ends up having a better relationship - although a little awkward - with Bruce. He has some friendship/relationship with his nephews and possibly even Clampers and Hickory as well. Eventually Poppy will probably make an appearance as well and well, we know I ship Branch and Poppy.
Branch having that moment of wanting the military, part of it is because he was unfulfilled in his life and relationships and in the beginning, before things get better, he sees the good in John's life but he doesn't quite realize that good came out of some really painful loneliness that he didn't have the choice to find in his own family. Branch and John's loneliness are not exactly the same but very, very similar, even though their circumstances are a bit different.
Military backgrounds definitely influence a family, whether or not the family tries to. One of my high school friends, despite her small stature, was determined to get in because that was in her family. It wasn't that her parents told her she had to or even expected her to, but it was something she really wanted and she did. I don't know if she is still here or not, but I know she got in.
And don't worry, your ask made total sense. I'm sorry I went a bit above and beyond.

For the soldier au, imagine what Bruce’s reaction to jd having branches letter would be. Like jd is overseas and somehow managed to get one of baby branches drawings to put on the fridge. First thing jd does when he gets to Bruce’s house is place branches letter on the fridge.
or what the bros reactions as a whole would have been if jd managed to send branch a reply so they’re all reconnecting via letters with inconsistent replies while jd is overseas in active combat and they all have the knowledge that their brother could die at any moment.
Alright, so this was kind of fun to think about, although I'm sorry that is it a little different than your thoughts on the matter.
JD spends a fair amount of time in almost some kind of vaguely paranoid survival mode where he isn’t sure who he can trust, how much or what the future brings for him. Don’t get me wrong, he loves his brother and although he’s not big into showing it at the beginning (for several reasons) he is still hesitant because he is very used to a certain type of living and authority relationships. He doesn’t have a lot of items and is only sentimental with very few things. The letter from Branch would be one of them. For a long time, it would be something he could keep close to him and possibly even in secret. Not that he thinks consciously Bruce is going to take it away or accuse him or anything but it’s that he is very, very used to keeping sentimental things close and hidden.
So I don’t think he’d put it on the fridge. It’s kind of a thing that - he doesn’t have a lot when it comes to his family/brothers and so with what he does have, he keeps close to the vest. So to speak.
As for Bruce's reaction; well, he'd have to find it first. It's not something John is going to give up easily or have just lying around. There might be a confrontation. Not that there is a lot of anger but JD would get probably a bit defensive, mostly because he's protective of it - it's one of the very few things he has - but this is mostly first instinct more than anything and he'd calm down about it.
I feel like the exchange afterwards would be something kind of like...
"You've been in contact with Branch since he was a kid?"
"No."
"What do you mean? You have a letter."
"Schools send them."
"And this just happened to get to you? That is one heck of a coincidence."
"It didn't come to me. Someone else in my platoon got it."
"How did you get it then?"
"Dickory got it for me."
"How did you know it was our brother?"
"...how many people do you think are named Branch?"
Vaguely, I think that would be sort of how it went. Not an exact science, I imagine. Also, since it was Dickory that got it - probably stole it - for him, it's also kind of personal in that aspect too. His friend did this thing that he could get in trouble for, for him. He's gonna keep it. But that's kind of a non issue considering who it wrote it in the first place.
John would have a hard time letting it go - he probably won't, at least not until far later, mostly when he has an actual relationship with Branch. (Which is so friggin cute, like they are so adorable I love them)
So yeah, that's my thoughts on it. As cute as it would be for baby Branch's letter to be on the fridge, I don't think John would let it go, especially be public like that, even if it is just in the household. Besides, I think it's pretty safe to say that Bruce's fridge is covered in his own kid's drawings.
Now, when John get's his own place, Rosiepuff is definitely gonna let him raid they kids drawings she's kept over the years and his fridge will be covered in cute stuff from his brothers when they were kids as well as his nephews and eventually, niece's stuff. Possibly a thing or two from Tresillo, idk yet.
As for the second part; dude that sound be so cute. I think at first, Branch might kind of keep it to himself. He’s about about 10, Bruce would be gone, Clay would probably be gone and I don’t know, I think one: Branch would be a bit suspicious at first. And then once he does accept it (cause he doesn’t even really know JD exists) it’s kind of something he might want to keep to himself for a bit. Selfish? A bit sure but he’s just a kid. It’s no surprise.
So I think Branch would kind of go back and forth with JD for a bit, although it would be slow and therefore take a lot of time. Eventually, at the very least, Floyd would probably catch on before he leaves but this is kind of iffy.
There is a significant age gap between Branch and the rest of the brothers. Branch is probably only about 5-6 when Bruce leaves, 7-8 when Clay leaves. Floyd sticks around a little longer, mostly for school but he goes off on his music career and doesn't have a lot of time to come back for Branch.
Although Branch does not have the same level of abandonment as he does in canon and he understands that they just kind of aged out and it's not their fault that there is such a large age gap - and hanging out with him is awkward (he understands this better when he's older obviously) - it is their fault that they don't keep in good good/consistent contact. For this au of an au, John and Branch's letters would probably be one of the most consistent forms of contact.
It kindaaaaa wanna makes me make this canon but I don't think I can at this point lol. It's just a super cute concept and I'd love for Branch to have that at a younger age. Idk, maybe I could manage something, even if Branch doesn't know it's JD in the letters...hmmmm... idk. It's just such a cute concept.
If the rest of the bros did find out... hmmm I'm not sure. Like, none of them are really communicating with one another very well, although the fact that JD is in a kinda active warzone might make them more inclined to remember to do that sort of thing.

I am the one who told you to teach you Colombian words and some traditions and that. (I say this in public in case someone also wants to know or it would be a Colombian who can correct me and confirm something of what I am going to say)
Hijueputa = Hij0 de put4 = motherfucker/son of a b1tch Saying hijueputa is all over LATAM, but Colombians have the (blessed) habit of "multiplying"
Ex: Doble (x2) hijueputa (warning), cuadruple (x4) hijueputa (warning lvl 2), cien (100) hijueputa (you have 3 seconds to run and 2 have already passed), mil (1000) hijueputa (probably, if it was directed at you, you will never hear it again, because you are dead)
That's the basics, but more memorable, then I continue (I hate biology homework, it's not like they were trolls, but I have to do it)
Hahaha this is cracking me up
Hopefully I'll be able to use it in something lol

He's 19? Awwwww no potential hickdory unless you aged him up
Yeah, he's kind of young. It's how it worked out for the concept with specific parameters in mind.
I don't really ship Hickory and John anyways. Granted, I don't really do a lot of ships in this fandom at all LOL
Part of the reason that John and Dickory bond is that they have brothers with a similar age gap (Dick and Hickory and JD and Branch) and although JD doesn't have the tight relationship with his brother at that time, it is something they talk about and can kind of relate to a bit with one another. This isn't the only thing, of course, but just another extra thing that makes them relatable to one another a bit.
As a general rule, there isn't a lot of non-canon ships in my writing, alternate universe or not. It's generally platonic based so most of the ships you are going to see in my writing is PoppyxBranch and BrucexBrandy. Now, this isn't an end all, be all but more often than not, there aren't much in the way of ships/romantic relationships anyways. I'm more focused on the platonic stuffs.

I saw that you said "Tres" to Tresillo.
"Tres" means "three" in Spanish.
I imagine someone says that to him and Tresillo simply can't hold back his laughter (Maybe JD and/or Dickory and that's why I teach them Spanish, idk)
I did? Huh, didn't even realize that.
That's funny tho. I feel like something like that could end up being a running joke. And I love running jokes.
Dickory picks up languages pretty well in general; he's already bilingual so might as well add another one right? JD took a bit of Spanish in school, like most American kids, but it was kind of a way for JD to bond with him since Tresillo had a bit of trouble adjusting to authority and discipline.

You know DJ Suki from Trolls, right?
Do you think she will ever be back?
Honestly I’m not sure if she will ever be back as I heard that her voice actor is busy in real life or something.
What do you think what happened to her? I know in TrollsTopia, it showed where she went in the final but as we know it’s not canon to movies and she wasn’t seen in TWT. (Never liked Legsly, I’m surprised I never realized that until now that DJ Suki wasn’t in TWT-)
I’m not sure if she will be in next movie but I’m kind of hope The Snack Pack will get more attention like in Trolls, unlike TWT and TBT.
Yes of course they were awesome in TWT, like Cooper having the important role and have a backstory to his family, Yay! :D
I’m fine with Biggie except how he did was great, as we saw in the end of TWT and how he said that the good queen should be listening, he helped in good way even if I don’t like him.
But TBT… what happened? Where they are?! If Tiny have big role in then should Guy be? He’s Guy’s son after all! Poor Guy…. :(
I hope some missing members are back in too, I like Smidge, she’s the great character.
I actually kind of liked DJ Suki. I'm not sure if she will be back. I guess it depends on a lot of things, even if there ends up being another movie. Not that she had a ton of screen time in the movie anyways; it was mostly the show which I don't think is technically canon?
Cooper's backstory kind of came out of nowhere but it also kind of makes sense cause he was so different. When it comes to that, I kind of understand Poppy's point. Like, despite Cooper being so different, no one ever treated him like he was an outsider and his differences are fairly obvious.
Biggie kind of drives me nuts sometimes lol but it might be his voice. also, controversial opinion, Mr. Dinkles wigs me out.
TBT was very Branch- centric. Tiny was mostly there because kids love him and he's got that extra comedic effect. I understand why the snack pack isn't really involved. That would be WAY too big of a cast for kids to understand and handle - and the cast was already big to begin with for that movie. We have to remember, in the end, no matter what age people are watching - these movies primary audience is children. Sure, it's got some adult humor - it's kind of like shrek. Kids can watch and have fun but the parents also watching can be amused at the same time.
Anyway, I got a little off topic.
If they do another movie, I'm kind of hoping it might be a bit more Poppy-centric? As we all know I LOVE Branch and JD and the rest of the bros but I'd love to see a bit more Poppy-centric stuff too. Especially now that she has a sister by her side. Possibly.
I think we think of the Snack Pack as this huge thing because of the TV show mostly. In the end, the movies are very easily about Poppy and Branch. It's the characters the audience focus on and since it's mostly just them, it can be easier to digest for kids. The rotating cast of new characters invites new jokes, new toys and new interests for the kids who don't always remember some of the side characters of other movies.
This is something that I generally like to keep in mind, that some of the movies we love and watch are made for children a lot younger than us. So I take everything with a grain of salt and that in mind and it definitely helps my enjoyment. I don't expect questions to be answered or deep themes to be addressed. That's something I - and others - can do through fanfiction.
So yeah... my two cents lol

John was sixteen when he figured out he was living alone.
He probably should have realized it sooner. Months since he left his brothers and moved up north with his father, but then suddenly, all he had was silence and free time. And not in a good way. His father suddenly had little interest in anything except his job and fishing. John could probably die in the woods one day and his father might not have even noticed.
Or maybe John just thought he wouldn't.
John is sixteen when he leaves home for the first time, spending weeks making his way back down to his mother's house - only to find it sold off and abandoned.
The whole trip took over a month but when he returned and was asked where he was, John didn't know what to tell his father. He said camping and it was accepted without fight or worry.
He wonders how long he could be gone at a time.
John is sixteen when he gets a job. It is just part time and doesn't pay a lot, but it is enough for him to get a bit of extra income to spend on the things he wants. His father's job pays well for the both of them to live but John doesn't really see any of it outside of basic bills he has to pay to keep the lights and heat on. He likes the movement and the work, and he gets to talk to people although John doesn't really say much. By this point, he's pretty used to the silence.
He is sixteen when he guts a fish for the first time. His father was gone for a week and there was little food in the house - with less money - but plenty of fishing poles and bait. He goes out, catches a fish and follows a video on how to gut and cook it. His father comes home irritated that his pole and some of his bait is missing but he calms down when he sees leftover fish on the stove. He doesn't apologize for the outburst, but John doesn't expect him to.
He is sixteen when he tries alcohol for the first time. He doesn't understand why his dad likes it.
He is sixteen when he gets lost in the woods for two weeks.
He is sixteen when his father disappears for almost an entire month. Considering John had done this himself; he doesn't say a word when his father trudges through the door looking for dinner.
He is sixteen when he breaks his first bone. It's only his finger but it still hurts. His father wraps it up so it would heal straight. John still isn't sure it did.
He is sixteen when he steps into that tiny hometown church and he leaves the service that day not certain God exists but if He does, maybe John isn't entirely alone.
He is sixteen when he makes a friend. It's not a person.
He is sixteen when he creates his clue board, trying to track down his brothers. He asks everyone; he gathers all of the evidence and intelligence he can. He spends weeks perfecting travel down to his hometown to try and investigate.
He is sixteen when he realizes no one knows anything. Fifteen years of being neighbors with the same people and no one knew where his mother took his brothers.
John is seventeen when he spends his birthday alone just outside a simple old cabin, huddled around a fire with a candle in a marshmallow. He only has one wish.
John is almost seventeen and a half when he can entirely live out in the wilderness by himself if he wanted.
He almost did.
John is seventeen and a half when he follows a girl from church to the recruitment office. They both have things they are running from and neither of them judge. Neither of them can. She stands by his side as they fill out paperwork and she asks him if he's okay. He hasn't been asked that for years.
John gives her a grin that's only partially fake and tells her never better.
John is seventeen and a half when he leaves home for the last time.
And then realizes it was never home at all.

How old is Hickory in the soldier au
I had to try and think about this one a bit. I’m not great with ages cause it often sends me in a realism spiral so more often than not I avoid it lol. John is about 30 when he loses his leg. Dickory isn't much older, maybe a couple years? But one of the reasons why Dick and JD get along/understand each other a bit is because the age gap between them and their (youngest) brother is about the same. (I'm totally making this up as I go along)
So when JD is about 30 ish, Branch is about 15/16 so at this point, Hickory would be at least probably 19? Dickory has so far kept his brother out of the military as of yet, so he's in college, but it's a slippery slope. Those two are kinda tight.
Dickory wants to get his 20 years in with the military and then he's out - if only to try and keep Hickory out. It's not that he's bad mouthing being a soldier; he just wants to protect his brother - like all big brothers do and he knows Hickory has talents that are far better suited for something else.
So short answer - about 19 I think.

Well there’s child that bites that’s Bruce jr I believe, there is the one that got stuck in the ketchup bottle that one is also real hyperactive so maybe HC those two as twins make em identical nightmare children. I saw a fanfic where one of Bruce’s kids was like super allergic and intolerant to practically everything which causes problems cause Bruce owns a restaurant. And of course there is anarchist daughter. You should definitely give Bruce and brandy at least one pair of twins or triplets to justify him eventually having like 8-9 kids by the time he’s like 40ish.
Thanks for the ideas! Since we basically know nothing about them and most of them I don't even think have names at this point (?) it can be kinda of difficult. Bruce was about 13 when their parents divorced and it has been about fifteen years so Bruce is only about 28 at this point. He's not done having kids but he's got several already.
"Those two are twins, Jr. likes to bite," Bruce grimaced a little as he showed John some pictures. Brandy insisted on driving back home, even though Bruce said he could do it. He wasn't sure what her game plan was but she wasn't taking no for an answer. John just silently looked at whatever Bruce showing him at any given time and didn't seem to mind the rant and chatter. "And his twin is really... hyperactive. I love them to death but wow, they are everywhere, you have no idea."
"I can probably fix the biting," John replied.
He'd been doing that, insisting he could help or fix things or whatever. Bruce really wasn't sure what to make of it. His first instinct had been thinking that John thought there was something wrong with his kid that needed to be fixed and that made him upset. Sure, Jr. shouldn't be biting and they would work on that but he wasn't some broken thing to be fixed.
John said everything so plainly and Bruce couldn't really determine his meaning.
But he kept telling himself that John wasn't exactly himself either. The doctors said he would probably come back to himself. He just didn't really know who his brother was anymore.
"Uh... this one is allergic to pretty much life in general, especially cats, for some reason?" he said, flipping through the photo. "Which is tough because out neighbor loves cats and well... he's been kind of taking a liking to them too."
"Feed him eggs from a farm with barn cats," John replied.
"Uh... what?"
John looked up at him and tilted his head a little. Bruce had to take a moment to take that in. Clay did the same thing. Geez, how was he going to tell everyone else? He'd figure that out later.
"Helps with allergies."
"Okay...? It can be difficult with the restaurant since there is a bunch of stuff he's allergic and intolerant of but we are working on a medication regiment. And he's not really supposed to be around the kitchen anyways," he continued, trying to keep things normal but his speech just kept getting quicker and more excited. "They are going to love you. They have always wanted an uncle living close by. I know technically you don't have to stay out here but it is the best and you have an in!"
"An... in?"
"Me!" Bruce nodded with a grin. "I can get you set up with a fantastic place when you are recovered, if you want. You can stay with us as long as you want, I just know a lot of people tend to be independent so I thought hey, maybe he'd want a little place on the beach or something instead but then again, we haven't really seen each other in..."
"Alright, honey," Brandy interrupted. "You are getting a little excited."
"Where else would he go? We are by far the most financially stable and it's Hawaii for heaven's sake. People would kill to live here. There can't possibly be anywhere better. He doesn't even have an address."
Brandy just shot him a slight glare in the rearview mirror.
"Uh, he's right... uhm about the address thing," John confessed. "If I needed to spend my leave off base, I usually just found a camping spot or stayed with one of my squad."
Brandy's face twisted into something interested and possibly mischievous. John wouldn't have been able to catch it but Bruce definitely could. "Oh! We would love to hear about them! You must be very close."
"We are," John shrugged, lightly. "Might as well be family at this point. Kinda curated an orphans, losers and runaways club. Or in my case, all three," he chuckled.
It was the first time Bruce heard any sound that could possibly be classified as vague amusement from John, although Bruce wasn't entirely sure if it was genuine. He knew one thing; he didn't really like the type of humor.
"Except for Chaz, he's just a fool," John snorted. "They wouldn't let me get rid of him."
"What about the others?"
"Dickory is one of the best. He's very cunning but you can count on him even in strange plans. Pete is retired, not that you'd ever know he was there in the first place. Barely said a word. We useta call him Growly Pete cause that's generally how he was."
Okay. Best friend. Crotchety old man. This was okay. This seemed normal.
"Tresillo... hasn't been with us long but he's shaping up to be a good kid. Needed some discipline but considering his parents weren't exactly in the picutre, I get where he's comin from. He's grown a lot in the time that he's been with us, we're really proud of him."
Brandy glanced at Bruce again. He knew what she was thinking.
He wasn't going to think about it.
"Anyone else?" she asked.
He listed off a few more. "And then... and then Delta."
"Oh! Who is Delta?" Brandy asked with a smile.
"She's mah girl."
His what?
"My partner in crime, the law, whatever you wanna call it," John replied, rubbing his arm and looking out the window. "Go-to gal, best friend, right hand man or I'm hers, whatever you got, it's us. By some miracle the military thought it best to keep us stationed together. She ain't crazy but probably a good choice on their part."
"So, I suppose we will be seeing her visit sometime?"
"I'll haveta call her sister and see what all happened after well, this," John shrugged. "But maybe. It used to be where you found one of us, you wouldn't find the other far behind. I dunno how that'll be now. Things are different, but uhm... I'm hopin' she''ll come around sometime.''

I don’t know why asking but I’m curious.
How did you first find out about Trolls? What did you think about Trolls? What were your favorite character?
About TBT
How did you think and feel about Branch when TBT first released? About fact he has four brothers? How do you feel about JD, Clay, Floyd and Bruce when you first saw them? Sure they have reasons why they left but they weren’t thinking straight, their reasons were stupid and worse they even decided to leave and BOOM! We know what happened in TBT.
(Poor Baby Branch being left in Trolls Tree in the middle of Bergen Town and poor JD…)
How did you think about bunker that it was the originally for his brothers as Branch built?
What’s your favorite member of BroZone, other than JD and Branch?
Where did you think Clay was after he left? There was a theory that he didn’t leave Trolls Tree but I’m not sure about that one.
Did you know that Branch was originally going to be kidnapped by Velvet and Veneer but that was changed to Floyd, that I heard about that. It would have been so much angst! :(
What do you think Trolls 4 going to be about if there’s one? (Idk why I’m asking that 😅)
Oh boy... I'm not sure about the first time I saw Trolls.
I have several younger siblings so I have watched a TON of animated movies over the course of my teenage and young adult years (I'm still a young adult, I'm not that old I promise lol) and several of my siblings do NOT shy away from the animated kids stuff. My guess is one of my sisters put it on and since most of us like the musical movies, it kind of worked out. Why I latched onto it for my hyperfixation a few months ago? I have ZERO idea.
My favorite character was Branch. Introvert, sarcastic, organizational nut, overthinking paranoid? Yeah, might as well be me with a little extra trauma and crazy. (After my fixation started, JD was added to that favorite. I'm sorry just that's how it is) I had watched movie one and two and whatever before but I didn't think much of it. And then the third movie came out and my sister watched it and I decided to rewatch the entire movie series - with most of the tv shows - as well because that is what I do.
I binge watch shows and movies and draw. I'm a big homebody and most of my time is spent drawing so that's kind of what worked. And then I watched the third movie and then watched it again and upon the second watching, zeroed in on John Dory's "thought you were dead" and "came back" parts and well, hyperfixation galore.
I didn't really watch anything as it was released; as I didn't really follow Trolls that closely. Like I said, my fixation isn't very old. So I didn't really care? Okay so when I watched TBT for the first time, my favorite character was Branch and the other brothers, I didn't have much opinion on? Except for Floyd who I LOATHED. The others leaving? Fine, whatever, I didn't really see it as much as child abandonment in the sense that others do at the time because he was left with his grandmother who, as the adult - should have been raising him anyways - so I guess I didn't see it the way some others did.
For my dislike of Floyd in the beginning, it was because of that promise. The others didn't promise to come back so I didn't really hold them to that standard but Floyd promised to return (there is also him telling Branch to take care of grandma which... I GET why he said that and it makes sense too for a kid but Branch... Branch probably didn't take it the way kids normally do) and he never did. Twenty years. Look, I get that the writers probably did not have that backstory when they were first writing the first trolls movie, I get it but AUGHHHHH
The second time I watched TBT, I got a bit more of a opinion on the brothers. Eventually my dislike of Floyd softened, mostly because I figure he's not as grudge-holding as some of the others. Trust me, I know how holding grudges can eat you up. Clay kind of annoyed me; like he felt so childish with the whole "I'm serious and boring thing" like dude, just chill. I like Brandy, don't get me wrong, but the whole giants/muppets thing threw me off guard and it kind of wigs me out just a bit. Idk, it's probably just me.
Also them getting so upset with JD when he slips up on Bruce's name in kind of a heated situation irritates the heck out of me. Don't ask my why, it just did.
Anyways, I don't have a good memory so idk on most of this stuff lol
I think it's really sweet that the bunker was built for his brothers too. I know Branch does that specific thing for Floyd, like, that's his favorite and whatever, but it's nice that everyone was included. It was kind of like that holding onto hope that they would at least come and visit or something; like they would always have a place with him. Which pisses me off more about none of them coming back. I'm not saying they had to stay but geez, they coulda called or whatever. This is mostly with Bruce and maybe Floyd. We don't really know what Floyd was up to so idk. Bruce literally just settled down and pretty much entirely forgot about his family point blank. Clay has a bit of an excuse, since Viva was protective and he had to lead people. John has a bit of an excuse too considering he thought Branch was dead.
I think the Clay one is kind of hard. I don't... I'm not sure if I think that Clay and Viva were friends before the escape. And I'm not sure if Clay stayed in the tree or not. Like, that's a hard one. Cause idk if that would be worse, if he was in the tree and never even visited Branch. I know the timeline between everything is SUPER sketchy and aging for Trolls seems to be... confusing at best (considering Branch is like a couple months old when he's performing?? Or something?? Idk) so who knows how much time passed between the band breakup and the escape.
My guess? Not a lot of time is between the two. I know Branch seems to "look" 5-6 or whatever in the first movie flashbacks but who even knows with Trolls; everything about them is wild and uncertain and the writers certainly don't seem to care about timelines/continuity that much. It's fine, I don't really mind, since it is a kids movie but whatever.
I did hear about Branch being the one to be captured once upon a time. I think that's a bit too much angst; the dude is literally full of angst. I'm kind of glad that it wasn't him but I'm also not entirely fond of how Floyd is treated as a character? Idk, I guess that is mostly up for interpretation. I think it would also be really hard to find John Dory, considering he travels a lot and thinks everyone is dead lol. Or at least, Branch. Well, up until after TWT. So... I'm not sure?
Trolls 4... hmmm. I'm curious on how long they are going to milk this. I'm a little worried if they do because if the brothers are in it, John's just going to be treated like the butt of the joke like in TBT and I'm not a huge fan of that, as much as I would love to see more of the bros. I'd like to think they'd do something either more world-wide centric with the other tribes or something a bit more Poppy-centric, since TBT is pretty much solely Branch-centric. Maybe some Viva and Poppy bonding.
