Hello! Can you give some motivation tips, please? My exams start in 10 days.

Hi! Of course, I can try :)

If your exams start in 10 ten days you have left it a little late but there’s no need to worry! Use today as a planning day:

Find old exam papers on the topics/subjects you will be taking and practise those. Take the paper without checking the answers and then go through with a red pen afterwards. (Do this for each subject at least twice)

Write down a list of all the topics that could be on each paper and RAG them. Basically, label each topic red, amber or green. Red meaning you know the bare minimum, amber meaning you know a decent amount but could know more and green meaning you know everything about that topic.

After doing the RAG for each paper, start with the things you labelled red. Find quizlets, small quizzes, tests and basically go over the information you are stuck with. (I made a post about different learning techniques for different learners so you should check that out!)

Have a clear space. For goodness sake, there is no way you will be able to concentrate with a desk that looks like a mini hurricane has just ripped through it. This might take a while if you are planning on organising things too but it’ll be worth it.

Use a sound app!! Put on an app or a YouTube video that plays rain sounds, study beats or anything like that. This will help you tune only into your work. Don’t use that great study playlist full of your favourite songs. Even if you think you work better with songs, trust me, you don’t.

If you are struggling with answering exam questions or essay questions, find some model answers online!!

For motivation, I can’t really be the one to tell you how important these exams are for you. I can’t tell you that because I don’t know what you want to achieve. You have to be the one to get out of bed early and try. If you know you are trying your very best, reach out for help! Ask for revision materials or use a study group.

A quick reminder though, I know exams are a big thing but do not overwork yourself. Don’t work for over 7hrs a day and make sure you have enough breaks between those seven hours. I use: work for 45 and break for 15.

I hope this helps, you’ve got this. I know it’s stressful but if you push yourself, who knows what you’ll be capable of!

Words like فأسقيناكموه (faa'skainakumooh) meaning "and so we have let you drink it" being an example.

Tea over burning coal. Over logs (hatab) tea over bokhour/oud hits different and you know it.
