Gonatodes is a genus of dwarf geckos that include many different species. Almost every species has a dramatic and unique color variation (in the males mostly). They mostly live in the forests of South America although some have adapted to live in cities and have been taken as pets.
They eat almost any bug that they can swallow. Some species of Gonatodes are becoming critically endangered due to deforestation.
Most of the species have pointed noses and are rather narrow in body size. However Gonatodes Daudini, shown here is the only one with large scales, bright orange irises and the 3 eye shaped patterns displayed by the males.
This picture is going around Reddit today. It's from a National Geographic article that's ages old, but uh... "Damn nature, you scary!". Just a reminder that large frogs and toads will eat just about anything. @.@
Oh man, I would LOVE to add more larger lizards. 1) I'm obsessed with them and 2) We need more variety for educational shows. If I had the same lifestyle but suddenly had all the space I needed, Nile Crocs, Gators, Caiman Lizards, another Tegu, and another BTS. As for snakes, I'd definitely add more Amazons I've had my eye on, BRBs, DRMBs, another ETB, GTPs, Blood and leopard boas. Also some leopard tortoises! Yea I could go on for days. I'd need to actually finish getting us set up to accept interns so we could get volunteers to help tho. NO WAY I could do this all on my own at that point haha, and this is all I do for a living!
If you had the money and space, how many of your favorite species do you think you could reasonably house?
Let’s assume you have the same lifestyle you do now. Please state the species! I’m really curious about your answers!

Got to hang out with “SMORES” a male pied ball python owned by our friend. He’s here so I can play match maker and try for Cinnamon Pieds this season!! 😍😍 Who else is obsessed with Pied Ball Pythons?? ❤🐍
I LOVE IT when our customers send me updated photos of our babies!! This guy was born solid, Smokey orange and has morphed into a tri-color phase beauty!! Yes, he's eating a baby quail. As always, prey variety is essential for keepers concerned enrichment and above average wellness :)
