Bella breathed in deep, the crisp air hitting the back of her throat. She hadn't been to Violet City in a long time, perhaps not since she was a child, but she had decided that today was the day. Her sister had left to become a champion all those years ago, why couldn't she have her shot? Pumpkin floated over her shoulder as she entered.

Looking around, she didn't see anyone at first. Was she perhaps too early? No, the gym wouldv'e been locked, wouldn't it have been? "Hello? Gym leader?" Bella knocked on the door frame. She also hadn't looked very hard, being nervous.

  The woman looked around, the dread and worry on her face growing more and more over time. “Pumpkin!” Bella shouted out from the clearing she stood in. Grass taller than she obscured her view. “Pumpy-kin, where’d you go?” Her voice cracked a bit, straining to remain cheerful in tone. 

  Her eyes darted to someone not too far from where she stood. “E-excuse me, can you help me for a moment?”

The skin itself tore at her, the fabrics of her clothes tearing and small wounds appearing on her side. It’s... toying with me... She grimaced, then lunged at the creature again, hoping for a better angle.

Bella decided she’d better go big or go home, so she pushed off the wall and launched herself at the Pokémon, arms open as to try to restrain it.

Incidents…? She doesn’t mean… Bella’s rosy face quickly went pale. She took a deep breath. With the removal of her flats and her satchel she, very slowly, made her way into the pool. It was much warmer than she had expected, no to mention the Sharpedo towering over her.

Bella was starting to wonder if she’d actually make it back to base or not.

The short lady had gotten a few extra grunts together. She wore a black, long-sleeved blouse and jeans with her side satchel. As the admin approached, she saluted him, and the other two followed. “Reporting for duty, sir!”

Bella stood up at attention, now understanding what she must do. She saluted the admin. “I shall meet you at the docks, then?” She tapped her fingers on her side-satchel, feeling a bit nervous about seafaring again.

“I… I mean…” Bella hesitated, slowly lowering herself to meet the Sharpedo’s gaze. Normal Sharpedo were larger than her. This one? Nearly twice the small woman’s size. Didn’t this admin know she was talking in a figure of speech?! 

Bella audibly gulped. “A-and if I choose my own…?”
