I'm starting to think the reason I could never get into shows like sex and city and insecure was because of how straight they were/felt

There is this scene in Breaking Bad with the ding ding ding guy sitting in the chair watching over the hitman twins playing when they were still kids and...
I really like the attention to details/foreshadowing and symbolism in this show...
It just never gets old to me.

He doesn't have any emotional attachment to walt tho, their relationship was mostly about the money. Jimmysaul's attraction to dangerous situations is also the complete opposite to what it was like dealing with chuck, in fact it's what chuck resented so much about him.
I think you can definitely draw some parallels between chuck and walt and the way they treated people around them but they also had some key differences, especially when it came to doing what they believed was right. Walt's sense of "justice" was much more self-oriented; he thought the entire world was wrong if they couldn't see his potential and he wasn't above breaking the law to prove that, which, imo, puts him a lot more closer to jimmhysaul (and, to a lesser extent, kim) than chuck..
I also think jimmysaul's relationship to both of them was also very different. For instance, I don't think he craved any kind of approval from walt. I think you could argue though that walt's similar unapproachability brought him a weird sense of comfort and familiarity that was probably hard to shake.
so the writing in better call saul is brilliant. his backstory with his brother slots perfectly in with why saul is able to work with walt later on. he knows how to talk walt out of stupid ideas better than anyone else and is able to see through the bullshit because it's the exact same shit chuck would pull.
it also explains why he keeps working with the guy even when it gets so dangerous. despite his best efforts he is pulled into the only relationship he's ever known

sdsfdgds i think its also so funny how jesse and walter are suddenly getting along with each other so well in this season. im on ep. 7 rn (season 5) and they have not had ONE major fight yet. disagreements, yeah, there's a big one coming up also w jesse wanting out of the business and walt not wanting to accept that .. but up until that point?? totally peaceful. literally Normally talking to each other. imagine that. after 4 full seasons of just constantly screaming at each other and bashing each other's heads in. its funny to me
