What it is:

Overnight lip mask

What it does:

This lip mask gives your lips intense hydration and a soft chemical exfoliation using their Moisture Herb Complex. This leaves your lips soft and hydrated in the morning.

You can also use this during the day if you like. I would avoid using this multiple times a day until you know how your skin reacts to it. Because of the exfoliating properties, it may be irritating to your skin. Better safe than sorry. 🫶🏻✨

My thoughts:

I like the container that the product comes in. I thought it was a pump design at first but you actually have to twist the bottom for more product. I like this because I’m not wasting product by using too much and it keeps it fresh inside.

The mask itself is not sticky on my lips. It’s very smooth and my lips feel so soft. It’s a very subtle gloss if you want to wear this during the day, but like I said before, I would use this as an overnight treatment first or do a patch test to see how your skin reacts.

I also really like this idea of a chemical exfoliation as an ingredient mixed into this mask. Lip scrubs smell good but they tend to be a little messy. Bonus points from me there with this product.

@vdl was kind enough to gift me their lip stain comfort slip “Cafe Romano” in exchange for my honest review.

This formula is not dry but not wet like their other lip stain I tried. This has a more creamy formula that goes in very nicely. I don’t usually go for orange-red colors for me lips but with the right makeup I’m in love with it!

I hope this gives you inspiration to try new makeup looks with colors you won’t normally use. This color actually really compliments by eyes. I would never have guessed that.

What it is:

#fauxfilter Color Corrector corrects, evens and brightens your understanding eye.

In this case, because I picked the wrong color for my skin tone, I chose to use it as a concealer. It works great!

How to use:

Put a dab under each eye and blend with fingers or sponge. In this case I covered my blemishes and then added a tinted moisturizer on top to blend perfectly.

Why I love it:

I love it when makeup is also skincare. This corrector is infused with Niacinamide and Vitamin C. These are both great for brightening for your own skin without makeup. I love that Huda decided to put these in as well. Very cool.

I wanted to try something fun, so took my inspiration from the 90s Mariah Carey album “Butterfly”.

What it is:

Lip Contour 2.0 in the color “Rich Brown”. The end of the lip liner twists to bring up more product and the end also comes off and is a sharpener for the tip.

My thoughts:

I’ve always wanted to try this lip look and this liner is perfect for that. The product glides right on which is great. I hate it when products drag across your skin. My advice is to go slow because it glides so well you may have to fix the liner when applying.

I don’t know how much product is in here as this is my first time trying it but a little goes a long way. I look forward to using this lip liner for other looks.

Huda’s Tip:

Draw an “X” on your Cupid’s bow to create the arch, then line the bottom center of your lips. Connect at the corners to create a fuller looking lip line.

Long Wear Gel Eyeliner “Tigereye Brown”:

This eyeliner stays all day and is surprisingly waterproof. I love that it was easy to apply and it made my brown eyes pop. If you have hooded eyes, you may need to brace your skin a little to apply but it doesn’t drag when you run the product across your eyelid. So that’s a plus!

Hyperlight Liquid Lipstick “Queen of Poisons”:

This liquid lipstick is waterproof as well. When I swatched this on my hand for the color it lasted all day with several hand washes with soap and water. My suggestion would to be to remove your makeup with an oil based makeup remover. Love that it will stay through drinking beverages though. Think a wedding or some event like that where you will be eating and drinking all day long. No touch ups needed. Love that!

What it is:

4% Peptide & Hyaluronic Acid Blend with Niacinamide, Hexylresorcinol & Bakuchiol. It’s an age defying moisturizer that helps to improve the appearance of wrinkles, dullness and give an overall brightening look.

When to use:

Can be applied in the morning or a night before bed. Moisturizer should be the last product you put on before sunscreen or the last product you apply before bed.

My thoughts:

I like the pump applicator so that not too much product comes out at once. The texture is creamy and smooth. If you are applying the moisturizer before makeup, make sure it is completely dry or “set” into your skin. Use this instead of a primer for a hydrated look that will make your makeup look even better.

It felt very nice on my skin and it absorbed rather quickly. I do like products in tub containers better so I can really get to the bottom of the product. I don’t like wasting product. When I reach the end, I guess I’ll find out how easy this is to open 😅 wish me luck!

What it is:

This is a sheer non-sticky lip oil. It’s made with a hydrating beep seed oil that hydrates your lips. 90% of the 31 people who tried this lip oil said that their lips felt smoother after a week of use after wearing this lip oil 6 hours a day.

My thoughts:

I thought it may go on a little darker but it went on sheer. However, it did enhance my natural lip color a little bit and it looks really pretty. My lips feel so hydrated and it really does smell like chocolate! 🍫 I can’t wait to see if my lips feel smoother in a week.

Dantalions was a makeup brand that gifted me this gorgeous “Inferno Moon” eyeshadow pallet. Unfortunately, soon after the owner gifted this pallet to me she closed her doors.

I love supporting small businesses and it’s such a shame when they don’t make it. This economy is hard on everyone especially when your suppliers raise their prices, which means the cost of business also goes up.

This indie brand only had maybe two pallets from what I recall. There are no names for the shades but the variety of basic, shimmer and glitter is very nice. I think the pallet is very pigmented and it doesn’t stain your skin when you wash it off at the end of the day.

I would love to write a blog post going into the “behind the scenes” on how you make an eyeshadow pallet as a small brand.

If there are any dupes to this pallet you can think of please feel free to let me know and I will gladly share. 😊✨

Blemish Clearing 2% Salicylic Acid Acne Treatment:

This cleanser come out of the bottle in a white gel-like texture. I really liked how my skin felt after using this. It really did feel moisturized and not stripped just like the package claims.

Blemish Clearing 2% Salicylic Acid Acne Treatment Toner:

In my opinion, this product is interchangeable with the treatment pads. It’s just up to you whether you want the pads already done for you, or if you want to apply the toner to the cotton pad yourself. I thought the smell was really nice. It smells like lemon, but not like a cleaning product kind of way. Very fresh actually.

Blemishes Clearing 2% Salicylic Acid Acne Treatment Pads:

These pads smell the same as the toner mentioned above. You could choose either one just pick your preference. 🤷🏼‍♀️ These smell the exact same as the toner and are really nice. To be honest I’m a little traumatized from the 90s when we were using Stride-X pads and killing our skin barriers 😩. I was pleasantly surprised with these pads. They didn’t strip my skin and I feel like it got a lot of dirt out of my pores!

Blemishes Clearing 2% Salicylic Acid Treatment Balm:

This balm treatment is not thick like a moisturizer balm, it is a bit more watered down but not drippy. It feels nice on my skin and there is no weird chemical or “medicine” smell. I really hate that. This was great! A little bit goes a long way.

@idewcare was kind enough to gift me one of their masks to try, so let’s review!

The mask I got is called “Gold Kitten” and it is a peel off mask. I have tried other gold masks before from other brands but they were “wash off” masks instead of “peel off”. The same benefits are found in this mask as I’ve tried in others.

The mask is very thick to apply so if you are using a spatula wand to get the product out, you may have to dip it in again to get more. The stretchiness and goopiness of the product makes sense when you think about what it does.

I waited for 30 minutes to let the mask fully dry and then I started to peel it off. It came off rather easily, actually! If you don’t want to pull the mask off your face, you can always take a warm washcloth and apply it to the mask to soften and then remove. You can also rub off the mask, either with your fingers or with the I Dew Care double sided spatula. One side is a spatula and the other is a rubbery scrub to loosen the product off your skin.

After I peeled the mask off, which was not painful, my skin was so smooth! It was also very glowy which I loved too.

Pro tip:

I like to keep my Aloe Vera is the refrigerator, especially for sunburns or for after I’ve used a chemical peel on my face. The coolness helps to not only take the redness out but it also cools your skin down which is great!
