Hi! I honestly love how Ariel’s sisters are given more character in Ariel’s Beginning. Prequels and sequels and TV series such as The Little Mermaid TV series, Ariel’s Beginning and Little Mermaid 2: Return to the Sea, are canon and the events in those films and series actually happen in the Little Mermaid Universe, correct?
I’m not sure. But I don’t think it matters anyway. It’s all officially sanctioned by Disney.

are you ok
disney built the biggest and most expensive animatronic ever in their history and then built a mountain around it and it BROKE a couple of months after the ride opened and it’s impossible to fix it without dismantling the entire mountain structure and that’s honestly the most hilarious verified disney fact™ ever
the second most hilarious being that the chum animatronic on the finding nemo ride at epcot used to pop out of the barrel to scare guests but one time a cast member was walking past it during an opening/closing procedure and it popped out and smacked them clean in the face so now it’s turned off permanently

Koda
Koda is a bear cub who appears in Brother Bear and its sequel, Brother Bear 2. In Brother Bear, he is an energetic young cub who enjoys regaling other bears, including Kenai, with stories from his younger cub-hood, often involving an unseen friend by the name of Bucky. Despite his young age, he is savvy when it comes to bear traps and knows how to avoid and escape them.
In Brother Bear, he first meets Kenai while rescuing him from a trap. They agree to accompany each other to the mountain where “the lights touch the earth” so Kenai can become human again, having been transformed by the spirits into a bear, and Koda can meet up with his mother at the salmon run at the base of the mountain after having been separated by hunters, which Koda refers to as “monsters”. At the salmon run, Koda’s mother isn’t there. But lots of other bears are and they tell stories, the most interesting thing that happened to them that year. When it comes Koda’s turn, he tells of his he was separated from his mother, causing Kenai to recognise the “monsters” from the story as being him and his brothers and runs off. Koda follows him and learns the truth; that his mother is dead and isn’t coming back. He runs away and talks with the moose brothers he and Kenai encountered on their journey to the salmon run and decides to follow Kenai up the mountain, rescuing him from a “monster” and stealing his spear away. The spirits turn Kenai human again, allowing the hunter, Denahi, to recognise him. Kenai and Denahi say goodbye to their dead brother, as Koda gets to say a final goodbye to his own mother. Kenai asks to be transformed back into a bear so he can raise Koda, who is adopted into Kenai’s family as he excitedly witnesses Kenai’s manhood ceremony.
In Brother Bear 2, Koda and Kenai awake from hibernation, to find Kenai’s childhood friend Nita is getting married. However, she is betrothed to Kenai after he gave her a necklace when they were children. Koda and Nita get along well, with Koda telling Nita embarrassing anecdotes of Kenai when he first became a bear. However, Kenai and Nita’s friendship begins to blossom and feeling that Kenai’s happiness is important to him, Koda asks the spirits to turn Kenai back into a human so he could marry Nita. Koda goes to Nita’s village to let her know, but is attacked by the villagers and is rescued by Kenai. The spirits arrive and Koda explains to Kenai that he asked the spirits to turn him into a human, but Kenai refuses, however Nita asks to be turned into a bear so she could be with Kenai. Koda then happily attends Kenai and Nita’s wedding at the end of the film.
Koda has appeared as a meet and greet character in the Disney Parks. Like many other characters, he had a cameo appearance in Ralph Breaks the Internet. At Disney’ California Adventure, the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail was re-themed to Brother Bear in the early 2000s. Though it is now themed to Up, it is still possible to visit Kenai’s Spirit Cave.

Cliff Secord
Also known as the Rocketeer, Cliff Secord was a stunt pilot for Bigelow’s Air Show and superhero who appeared in the 1991 Disney film The Rocketeer and in a cameo in the 2019 Disney Jr Show The Rocketeer, both based on the 1980s comic book of the same name. In the film set in the 1930s, Cliff discovers a mysterious jetpack and uses it to beat up some Nazis and becomes a superhero dubbed The Rocketeer. By the time of The Rocketeer (2019) Cliff has long since passed (as it is set in the modern day) and it is shown that he settled down and had a family as his great-granddaughter Kit became the new Rocketeer.
In the Disney Parks, a ‘roastie-toastie’ can be found of him at a popcorn cart in Tomorrowland at Disneyland Park. In Walt Disney World however, at Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar, it’s shown that Jock Lindsey knew Cliff Secord as there are pictures of the two together and there is a poster for Bigelow’s Air Circus. This connects Cliff Secord to the Society of Explorers and Adventurers.
He is also a playable character in Disney Heroes: Battle Mode.

Quark
Quark is the pet dog of the Szalinski family. He appears in major roles in Honey, I Shrunk the Kids, Honey, I Blew Up the Kid and the theme park spin off attraction, Honey, I Shrunk The Audience, which would introduce The Imagination Institute and bring they ‘Honey’ franchise into the Medfield College-verse. The Honey I Shrunk the Audience attraction appeared in parks worldwide, and was translated into French, Spanish, Italian, Dutch and German for Disneyland Paris and Japanese for Tokyo Disneyland, where the attraction was known as MicroAdventure. Quark also appeared in the Honey, I Shrunk the Kids Movie Set Adventure playground at the then-MGM Studios (later Hollywood Studios). He is also a major character in Honey I Shrunk The Kids: The TV Show, set between Honey, I Shrunk the Kids and Honey, I Blew Up the Kid.
Presumably by the time of Honey, We Shrunk Ourselves, he passed away of old age.

Happy Anniversary....
I love this blog especially when you pull out some deep cut characters like the members of SEA or characters exclusive to international parks
Thank you!
I love the S.E.A storyline too. That’s what inspired me to actually start this blog. I figured I’d shine a spotlight on them, but then realised there’s a lot of other forgotten, obscure, pushed to the side characters as well.
Stay tuned because there’s much more of that to come-both S.E.A. and characters from the overseas parks.

Who's your favorite background character?
Thank you!
My favourite background character changes all the time (generally to whoever I’m writing about that day!), but right now, it’s either Karen from the Toy Story franchise, who will appear soon, or baby Oscar from the Country Bear Jamboree. Or really any of the bears from the Country Bear Jamboree!
Who’s yours?

Lagoona Gator
The Lagoona Gator was the mascot for Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon water park for a brief period in the late 90s. When Disney’s Blizzard Beach opened with the Ice Gator Mascot and Guests responded to it, Disney felt the need to create a mascot for Typhoon Lagoon, a mascot which became the Lagoona Gator. Guests didn’t respond well to Lagoona Gator leading to the mascot’s retirement after a few summers. The Lagoona Gator can still be found around the park in statues, paintings, sculptures and photos, provided you know where to look. And he can be found on merchandise such as Disney Parks pins and Vinylmations.
