Met up with Anne & Paul at the Vinos de EspaƱa event in Jerez yesterday and afterwards Paul treated us to a splendid lunch at the new El Bichero location just outside the city. Today I finally got to see a traumatology doctor about my goddamn knees. To recapā¦ it was less than a year ago that I was doing my (almost) daily 10,000 steps and suddenly last May my left knee decided to give out on me. Then it all went downhill with trips to my heartless GP, then an MRI and later a visit to emergency when the pain in my right knee became unbearable. I was dismissed by the ERā¦

The last ditch effort to repair my number one fan was not successful. So after 20 years I had to retire the old girl and get this new model. Which in fact is quite nice! So nah, wonāt be going to Feria. I usually like going at least one afternoon to take photos of the horses and the colourful dresses but as one horse has already died from the heat I think itās not something I want to be a part of. Also there are apparently record crowds this year ā yet another local celebration over run and ruined by mass tourism. No thanks.

This decision by Amsterdam to ban new hotels seems like a sensible move and I wish Sevilla and other afflicted cities in Spain would follow suit. we love a grey day here...
ā¦ especially when they are so pretty, and also seriously cut down on the FUCKING HEAT that has arrivedĀ here way too early. Stay tuned folks because the torrential rains all through Semana Santa gave us some breathing space, but if we hit over the top temps super early (like last year) the reservoirs wonāt last long. Meanwhile tourists are complaining that they came here for some sun.
