i fink there are two reasons that play a big part in these incongruous characterizations: 1) most of these writers hadn't played the game and they're mostly getting their info from second sources (fanfics - tiktoc - memes, etc etc), and 2) writers prioritize the angsty plot over portraying the characters in a believable light... this narrative method of IMPOSING scenarios over characters relies on having them be as PASSIVE as possible bc if they as much as have a vestige of their canon personality, the plot will just crumble in an instant.

also can we blease think about the sort of pet names the characters would use for the reader before throwing it around haphazardly. i may not be the best person out there who could conjecture abt the character's habits when they're in love, but I'm p sure 90% of them won't call the reader 'babygirl' or 'kitten' casually...

oh Jesus when was this asked? Never saw it. But yeah 100%, makes sense.

I loved themed and realistic nicknames. Xiao using “quingxin” is always nice. Neuvi and Zhongli are more likely to be traditional with a “darling” or “dear”. Advocate for Heizou using “love”. Wanderer/Scara, of course, with “idiot” or “dumbass”. Oh, and Kazuha has something really poetic and meaningful he uses. Aether uses something from a previous world he visited that he really liked.

I’m considering whether Albedo would even use a pet name. Perhaps not, it doesn’t quite fit.

Just a couple sub Albedo thoughts :)

- Albedo is a great mix of awkward inexperience and unexpectedly smug. Like, have you seen his face sometimes? That smug Albedo face? That one. That.

- He’s 100% a virgin before you get at him, this isolated mf. So when you get to take his first time (after a very long time dating), he’s not used to… well, not studying things.

- But that’s before you turn him into a mess
