Although this Broadway production is ridden with many moments I find to be questionable & classic "throw some feminist themes in there and boom it's empowering and nuanced" when it's actually not - Once Upon A One More Time is still quite a fun show!
There's been a bunch of revisions to the book since I saw it during previews, and my opinion of it is that it's one step forward and two steps back. However, if you want a good time, an easy-to-follow storyline, and want to support Britney (the copyrights from the songs all go to her ONLY, it's one of the first contracts she signed by herself after her conservatorship was severed), I would recommend this show :)
Jennifer Simard as the stepmother does a thrilling rendition of Toxic, and she deserved every bit of the standing ovation she got during opening night (even though it was just in the middle of act 2!!)

OBSESSED with Once Upon A One More Time’s version of Oops! I Did It Again
Hey I wanted to ask if you can recall what episode of mmni has harry excitedly wishing someone from the zoom audience a happy birthday... I feel like I keep accidentally skipping over it while scrubbing through the episodes looking for it 😭😭
I believe the moment you're looking for is from the very last MMNI they did - "The Day Harry Got Cut In Half!" It's the second zoom audience Jonathan talks to with the zoom name of "We Love Harry Kershaw Crew" and Harry is quite enthusiastic about it!

Please respect bootleg etiquette as always and DON'T share any links, screenshots, videos, etc publicly.
If I catch wind that you're selling any links after getting them from me I will ugly cry :( Mischief enthusiasts are already much smaller in comparison to that of other pieces of theatre, please don't exploit the generosity of fans for your own benefit.
in many ways i would have to say yes! it is the nature (/burden) of being an english major that i have to read a lot of books. but alongside all my other myriad hobbies i do love to read even if it is not for school. narratives and stories and words and love <3
here are some recent book shoutouts, some from school assignments and some just cause i like them! station eleven by emily st. john mandel (just finished, very good), monkey beach by eden robinson (just did a presentation on another eden robinson story in a class and ended up gushing about monkey beach the whole time), never let me go by kazuo ishiguro, just my type by simon garfield, ducks by kate beaton
(and on my TBR: boundless by jillian tamaki, the city we became by nk jemisin, a strange manuscript found in a copper cylinder by james de mille, essex county by jeff lemiere, humankind by rutger bregman to name a few)
89. sarcastic narrators: entertaining or overdone?
when i really ponder it occurs to me that it's been a while since i've read something with a sarcastic narrator, so i can't necessarily say. it feels to me kind of like a YA style? which may or may not be true, might not be at all, and also not a bad thing. just seems quite specific and i know that if it's done right it can be great. but i think it ultimately depends on how the character themself is presented, aka if they're otherwise likeable or sympathetic or simply interesting in other dimensions. (this is me thinking in 1st person pov.) that being said, if it's like 3rd objective pov and the character is just Like That then often i find it quite fun :)
Hey Tumblr! It's been a while (I'm still alive and loving Mischief) but unfortunately two of my videos have been taken down by the legal people behind Mischief. I knew this would happen at some point having escaped the copyright strikes for around 2 years now :/
The videos affected are:
Henry Shields' Questionable Night (the first edit I uploaded)
Family Un-friendly Moments
Still, I'm curious as to why these videos in particular received the end of the copyright hammer while the others remain untouched. A possible theory is that both possibly harm Mischief's reputation(?) while the other edits are generally more wholesome. Either way, I've re-uploaded these videos as unlisted should anyone decide to revisit them.
The (public) playlist of the taken down videos (now unlisted) are here:
While I'm back here, I wish to reiterate that my Mischief content is non-profit, non-malicious, and only created out of the wish to bring Mischief joy to viewers. (Sorry especially to Henry Shields.) As always, happy Mischief!
Office Royale Promo (Harry Kershaw & Chris Leask) + special video benefit
Harry and Chris have written a new comedy short and are asking for donations for their crowdfund! I haven't been posting much lately due to shifting priorities and general time problems, but because I love Mischief and adore human art so much, I'm willing to post more.
Show me proof of your donation (any amount) - and I'll edit a short Mischief video request from you! No trickery, no trousers-hassle, just some Mischief love and joy.
So, any donation = a Mischief video request
My emails and DMs are always open :)

Taskmaster NZ - Memorise and recite pi with Chris Parker!
Chris' brilliant attempt at coming up with a routine and visual cues was so fun and so good, but just like any taskmaster attempt that is going too well...(spoilers) it doesn't go as planned. Oops.
Taskmaster New Zealand Series 3 Episode 2
Task: Recite pi to the most decimal places. You one and only attempt starts in 10 minutes.
Taskmaster always produces the best earworms. Last time it was Fern Brady's "it's me Fern Brady it's me Fern Brady" that was stuck in my head and now it's Josh Thomson's "sushiiii trainnnn" going forward.
Taskmaster New Zealand Series 3 Episode 2
Prize task: Best thing that delights all five of the senses.
