how do you get the watercolour paper-like texture on your digital art? specifically referring to the dead rose animatic thumbnail

The answer is boringly simple: I'm putting the watercolour paper texture on top of all the other layers :) I'm using assets from clip studio library, but if you use a different program there are plenty of free to use textures on various stock sites.

It depends on the art, but my usual to go settings are "soft light" layer mode and 30% opacity.
