But we must not forget there is not one mention of Gw

Not a word, not a passing phase NOTHING
Mainstream fandom doesn’t know she exists as anything other than Nesta’s friend if they even remember that
Outlets that have talked about Elain’s book being next and/or Elriel
- Business Insider (shared by Bloomsbury)
- Time (the writer spent the week with Sarah leading up to the HOFAS release)
- People Magazine
- Today
And more I can’t even think of off the top of my head. All I know is that when SJM said it was obvious, these publications agreed 🌾

So wait no publicity for the lightsinger.
How are people who read the books who don’t live on tik tok supposed to know the next book is about Gwyn??????
Hmmmmm
How are they supposed to know that????
Tumblr media
You done please move along, step aside, stop filling the fandom with crackships and a side characters
See ya never👋
Let’s think about this quote for a sec:
Who is the next book about

“I thought it was pretty obvious.”
Now keeping that in mind, let’s see what happens when you google “Who is the next ACOTAR book about?”
Time Magazine:
“Maas has already announced that the next book she will publish is the sixth installment in ACOTAR, a highly-anticipated release that many fans suspect will flesh out the stories of Feyre's sister Elain and Azriel, just as A Court of Silver Flames did for Nesta and Cassian.”
Business Insider:
“Although she didn't specify which characters from "ACOTAR" the novel she is writing will focus on, Maas previously said in a February 2021 conversation with Eva Chen that she planned to write a novel focused on Elain Archeron, Feyre's older sister, planting seeds for the book in the last installment in the series, "A Court of Silver Flames," which was about Nesta, the eldest Archeron sister.”
Today:
“There’s a third Archeron sister, Elain, as well as another in Rhysand’s trio of friends, Azriel, whose stories are left to tell. (And Maas did say she plans to explore Azriel more.)”
Screen Rant:
“As far as characters go, it's been repeatedly speculated that the sixth ACOTAR novel will follow Elain and Azriel, Elain and Lucien, or all three.”
Culturess:
“The most obvious choice for the character at the center of the next book would seem to be Elain. She’s the Archeron sister we know the least about, and who probably has the most unanswered questions around her story.”
Fandomwire:
“The story that is yet to be told is that of the youngest*, Elain. This is why it would make sense for Sarah J. Maas to tell her story in her new book.”
Books of Brilliance:
“It’s not official what this new book will be about, but Maas hinted in a previous interview that she was planning on writing a book from the perspective of Feyre’s older sister, Elain Acheron.”
The Every Girl:
“Namely, book five is Feyre’s sister Nesta’s story, and there are rumors (pretty strong ones) that the next book in the series will be Feyre’s other sister’s [Elain’s] story.”
The Mary Sue:
“As for what this next book might be about, Maas has mentioned previously she wanted to focus on Feyre’s older sister Elain in an ACOTAR book.”
These are all the articles, blogs, exclusives, or opinion pieces that talk about who the next book is about that I could find. Now, before anyone gets on me about this, I am aware that these articles have varying levels of credibility and accuracy! If you want to take this with a grain of salt, go ahead.
Some of these articles also mention Nesta, Mor, and Amren but they also always mention Elain. Yet, the apparent “super obvious” Azriel book is never mentioned? In fact, Azriel is only ever mentioned alongside Elain.
So idk, if the author of a book states that she thought something was obvious, and then multiple news sites, blogs, exclusive interviews, opinion pieces, etc. all draw the same or similar conclusions on the topic, I would say that maybe there is some validity to that conclusion.

So I’ve come across antis being extremely hurt because of the faebane/bloodbane concealing an actual mate bond. We know Azriel was hit with it when Elain and Nesta were thrown with it and Feyre and Rhys couldn’t communicate well through it. It was like being underwater. That’s canon. But they’re so hurt that it’s a possibility that it could be covering a potential bond between Azriel and Elain. I don’t care for them to be bonded mates but I think it was a great theory. What do you think?
Yes, that's one of the most popular theories. The reason Azriel displayed so many 'mate behaviors'--saving Elain, risking his life, being so wound up, avoiding her, smelling the Elucien bond, etc. is because the bond is there, but Azriel can't feel it 'properly. Like he knows something is there, but there is a much more 'clear' bond with Elain and Lucien, and it's causing him all this confusion and distress.
But it was HE who was able to determine what Elain's issue was with being a Seer. Per Madja--a 'mate' could tell. Lucien couldn't, but Azriel could.
The connection is CLEARLY there, but it's either muted, or is just confusing because double bonds arent heard of in Prythian.
My personal theory is that Elriel have the original bond from the Mother, like Feysand and Nessian. And that the males felt it even when the women were still human.
Then, when Azriel was almost dead with the ash bolt AND the poison, the Cauldron threw another bond at Elain, particularly because she emerged with her new powers at that moment. So i think it threw the 'strong baby bond'.
But the soul mate bond is still with Azriel. Which would also explain why he is so affected by the Elucien bond and why he can smell it and why it makes him so sick. I think the 2 bonds are 'warring' with each other. I wonder if one of the reasons Lucien stopped seeing Elain is because he also feels something like that, some strange 'extra' thing that he can't explain. The only person he snarled at is canonically Azriel over Elain. So maybe he feels it too?

Very interesting đŸ€š.
I wonder why the author chose to put that EXTRA stuff about Azriel in
. That is important canon
“Just once, Lucien had said to me, during those days on the run. That was all he wanted—to see Elain only once
“I’m going to see my sisters up at the House,” I said to Lucien
“Would you like to come?” Lucien weighed my offer—and the three males monitoring his every blink and breath. He only nodded. Another wise decision
Azriel left us as we took to the skies, murmuring that he had some pressing business to attend to
”-ACOWAR Ch. 15

NONE OF US WILL HAVE TO GO THROUGH THIS AGAIN
Neither = Nesta and Feyre
NONE of us = Nesta, Feyre AND Elain
Stupid pelvis theory debunked once and for all.
Please spread this gospel:
Theory: Azriel and Elain can’t be together because her pelvis doesn’t fit for winged babies.
This is extremely misogynistic, but we will debunk it nonetheless.
Nesta and Feyre did not have pelvi that could accommodate wings, but they were mated to partners that would blow up their pelvi
So far Elain is in the same boat.
Stupid theory : Nesta only changed hers and Feyre’s pelvis. And Gwyn has flexible joints ( maybe she should join the circus then she could hang with all you clowns đŸ€Ą that make up these stupid theories)
She actually has the KNOWLEDGE to change pelvi ( plural) so still in the same boat with Elain if she wants it.
Here is the CANON proof:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So you see Elain getting with someone who has wings is more in keeping with canon then flexi bones.
Notice the “none of us” that is not proper grammar when talking about TWO people. That means something.
So to the people with the pelvis theory 👇

The curious difference between
Rhysand noticing the mating bond vs.
Lucien noticing the mating bond:
Tumblr media
Rhys knew when she was human.
These quotes are in the same book (ACOWAR)
Ianthe points out that Lucien did not know.
Tumblr media
This makes me think that the bond between Lucien and Elain was created by the cauldron or something else just like Meave created the bond between Lyria and Rowan.
đŸ€”
Also was Ianthe planning this?

Gywn being USED by Koshcie is on my bingo card for the next book. She may not be “evil” though(more like a Tamlin character)
ELAIN the seer giving Azriel the ear plugs (this mimics the greek myth when Homer was given ear plugs by Circe to block out the sirens when on his voyage).
Also, tell me a BETTER character to mess up the spy of the Nightcourt (who gets his powers from the shadows) then a character who we have seen in Canon making those shadows (who have been likened to snakes in the book) dance
 and Azriel would be incapacitated.
Tumblr media
Gwyn: Told Merrill what Nesta was researching when Nesta specifically said not to tell anyone.
Gwyn: Know’s that Truth Teller was used to kill the King of Hybern when no one else but the people who were on the battlefield know.
Gwyn: Keeps asking Azriel questions about his shadows and his singing. To which Azriel deflects and doesn’t answer.
Gwyn: Doesn’t wear the Priestess Invoking stone because she claims she is unfit to wear it. (Could it be that maybe that stone would expose that she’s a lightsinger?)
Gwyn: Says that Nesta would never want to continue to be friends with her if she knew the truth about her and her past.
Gwyn: Has Lightsinger (evil siren) energy that is linked to her throughout the book.

No debate anymore
. ELRIEL is endgame and it was confirmed with the TIMES article essentially letting everyone who is not a fan on SM know what the next book will be about.
It is sad that fanon has ruined the story for some fans they abandoned what is ACTUALLY WRITTEN in the books for what people in the fandom WANT to happen.
Elriel crumbs in ACOSF
1. We learn in acosf that Elain smells like jasmine and also NC smells like jasmine. Scent is a big thing in sarah’s book and learning about elain’s scent in acosf is very important.
Her sister’s delicate scent of jasmine and honey lingered in the red-stoned hall like a promise of spring, a sparkling river that she followed to the open doors of the chamber.
I smelled jasmine first—then saw stars. A sea of stars flickering beyond glowing pillars of moonstone that framed the sweeping view of endless snowcapped mountains. “Welcome to the Night Court,” was all Rhys said. (acomaf)
Tog spoiler>>> sarah uses the scent with rowan and aelin. Rowan smells like terrasen, aelin’s home.
2. Cassian informs azriel with the fight between nesta and elain.
“At least you’re honest.” Azriel smirked. “You and Nesta are wanted down there.” “Because of the shit with Elain?” Azriel stilled. “What happened to Elain?” Cassian waved a hand. “A fight with Nesta. Don’t bring it up,” he warned when Azriel’s eyes darkened. Cassian blew out a breath. “I take that as a no regarding the meeting topic, then.”
the wording in here is important. cassian says "with elain" but azriel's only concern is "what happened to elain?"
The scenes continues with this.
“It’s about what I discovered. Rhys said he requires you both there.” “It’s bad, then.” Cassian surveyed the shadows gathered around Az. “You all right?” His brother nodded. “Fine.” But shadows still swarmed him.”
He thinks something happened to elain and his shadows swarms him.
3. Nesta and Elain fight about the dread trove and Nesta says "you will become interesting after all"
Nesta saw the blow land, like a physical impact, in Elain’s face, her posture. No one spoke, though shadows gathered in the corners of the room, like snakes preparing to strike.
and we see that shadows gather in the corners to defend elain. Snakes preparing to strike.
4. Feyre talks about how elain is good at what azriel does best.
Feyre smiled. “Elain was the only one who guessed. She caught me vomiting two mornings in a row.” She nodded toward Azriel. “I think she’s got you beat for secret-keeping.”
5. Azriel rescuing elain in acowar being brought up.
Azriel stiffened. “I know. I helped rescue Elain, after all.” Az hadn’t so much as hesitated before going into the heart of Hybern’s war-camp.
and we know how he risked his life to save her.
From the shadows near the entrance to the tent, Azriel said, as if in answer to some unspoken debate, “I’m getting her back.” Nesta slid her gaze to the shadowsinger. Azriel’s hazel eyes glowed golden in the shadows. Nesta said, “Then you will die.” Azriel only repeated, rage glazing that stare, “I’m getting her back.”
6. Cassian figures out the change between Azriel and Mor.
He was still happy to be Mor’s buffer with Azriel, but there’d been a change lately. In both of them. Mor no longer sat beside Cassian, draped herself over him, and Azriel
those longing glances toward her had become few and far between. As if he’d given up. After five hundred years, he’d somehow given up. Cassian couldn’t think why.
and this is importan because in acomaf feyre thinks about azriel and elain being together but then thinks about mor and azriel "relationship"
And I think Elain—Elain would like it, too. Though she’d probably cling to Azriel, just to have some peace and quiet.” I smiled at the thought—at how handsome they would be together. If the warrior ever stopped quietly loving Mor. I doubted it. Azriel would likely love Mor until he was a whisper of darkness between the stars.
7. Azriel being concerned about Elain scrying the dread trove.
Azriel stiffened, an outright sign of temper from him as he said quietly, “There is an innate darkness to the Dread Trove that Elain should not be exposed to.”
don't go and call this "toxic" because the next paragraph cassian says " “But Nesta should?” Cassian growled."
8. Nesta is going to do the scrying but she is concerned that elain will be captured again and azriel says this:
“Not the ones under my command,” Azriel said with soft menace. Nesta met his stare, knowing he was the only one aside from Feyre who could truly understand her hesitation. He’d gone with Feyre into the heart of Hybern’s camp to save Elain—he knew the risk. “We won’t make the same mistake twice.”
The important part in here is that "he was the only one aside from feyre who could truly understand her hesitation." After her sisters azriel is the one that will be most concerned about elain.
and we again read about azriel saving elain in acowar.
9. Eye contact and looking away shyly.
“I always thought she was born on the wrong side of the wall,” Elain admitted. “She made ballrooms into battlefields and plotted like any general. Like you two,” she said, nodding to Cassian, and then, a bit more shyly, to Azriel. Azriel offered her a small smile that Elain quickly looked away from.
10. Azriel following the sound of Elain's laugh.
Nesta shook her head slowly, not understanding. Elain just linked her arm through Nesta’s and led her toward the family room, where Azriel stood in the doorway, monitoring them. As if he’d heard Elain’s sharp laugh and wondered what had caused it.
He is so whipped.
11. Charged glance.
Then his gaze shifted to Elain, and though it was utterly neutral, something charged went through it. Between them. Elain’s breath caught slightly, and she gave him a shallow nod of greeting before brushing past, leading Nesta into the room.
12. Nesta figuring out Azriel's secret.
“My shadows don’t like the flames so much.” A pretty lie. She’d seen Azriel before the fire plenty. But she looked at who sat close to it and knew the answer.
the answer = lucien
"Shadows darkened his eyes, full of enough pain that she couldn’t stop herself from touching his shoulder. Letting him see that she understood why he stood in the doorway, why he wouldn’t go near the fire. His secret to tell, never hers.
13. Azriel behavior after the solsctice.
Three days passed with no word from Cassian. He’d been replaced in training by a stone-faced Azriel, who was more aloof than usual and wouldn’t even give her a smile.
We can point this out to him being upset after solsctice because lucien was with them and his secret being elain.
Soo...What I really want to point out is that as you can see I didn't mention the bonus chapter. Not once. All the quotes are from acosf and previous books.
When Sarah said "I thought it was pretty obvious" this is what she was talking about.

CANON IS IMPORTANT.
There is no debate anymore
“Why don’t you ship Elain with her mate? Don’t you know Sarah is a fated mates author?!”
Let’s take a look at Elain’s mate vs
.
The person Feyre pictured with Elain and smiled.
“Autumn Court males have fire in their blood—and they fuck like it, too.”
Lucien caught me cringing at him when her words replayed for the tenth time an hour later
I shook my head, trying not to imagine Elain subject to that
fire.
“And I think Elain—Elain would like it, too. Though she’d probably cling to Azriel, just to have some peace and quiet.” I smiled at the thought—at how handsome they would be together.
The person willing to save her himself.
Lucien was shaking his head, panting, and whirled to us. “Get her back,” he snarled at Tamlin over the ranting of the king.
The person who made her feel at ease during their first meeting.
As Lucien took off his jacket, kneeling before Elain. She cringed away from the coat, from him
But Azriel’s attention was on my sister, a polite, bland smile on his face. Her shoulders loosened a bit.”
The person she can sit in comfortable silence with.
It was the most uncomfortable thirty minutes I could recall.
Elain sat silently at one of the wrought-iron tables, a cup of tea before her. Azriel was sprawled on the chaise longue across the gray stones, sunning his wings and reading what looked to be a stack of reports—likely information on the Autumn Court that he planned to present to Rhys once he’d sorted through it all. Already dressed for the Hewn City—the brutal, beautiful armor so at odds with the lovely garden. And my sister sitting within it.
The person who knew she didn’t need anything.
Lucien murmured to me, eye still fixed on Elain, “Should we—does she need
?”
“She doesn’t need anything,” Azriel answered without so much as looking at Lucien. Elain was staring at the spymaster now—unblinkingly. “We’re the ones who need
” Azriel trailed off. “A seer,” he said, more to himself than us. “The Cauldron made you a seer.”
The person who understood her and saw her when no one else did.
“Did you sense anything?” “No—I didn’t have time. I felt her, but
” A blush stained his cheek. Whatever he’d felt, it wasn’t what we were looking for.
Lucien just stared and stared at my sister, as if he’d never seen her before.
It made sense, I supposed, that Azriel alone had listened to her. The male who heard things others could not
Perhaps he, too, had suffered as Elain had before he understood what gift he possessed.
The person Elain enjoys spending time with.
Elain, at least, would be too polite to send Lucien away when he wanted to help. She was too polite to send him away on a normal day. She just ignored him or barely spoke to him until he got the hint and left.
Azriel and Elain remained in the sitting room, my sister showing him the plans she’d sketched to expand the garden in the back of the town house, using the seeds and tools my family had given her tonight. Whether he cared about such things, I had no idea.
The person she has palpable chemistry with.
Cassian’s heart strained at the pain etching deep into Lucien’s face as he tried to hide his disappointment and longing. Elain only shrank further into herself, no trace of that newfound boldness to be seen.
Then his gaze shifted to Elain, and though it was utterly neutral, something charged went through it. Between them. Elain’s breath caught slightly, and she gave him a shallow nod of greeting before brushing past, leading Nesta into the room.
The person who gives her a gift that she wants to wear right away.
He and Lucien did not exchange gifts, though the male had brought a gift for Feyre and one for his mate, who barely thanked him after opening the pearl earrings.
“It's beautiful," she whispered, lifting it from the box. The golden faelight shone through the little glass facets, setting the charm glowing with hues of red and pink and white. Azriel let his shadows whisk away the box as she said softly, "Put it on me?"
The person who looks at her and only thinks of her.
But there she was. His mate. She was nothing like Jesminda.
Soft steps padded from under the stair archway, and there she was. The faelights gilded Elain's unbound hair, making her glow like the sun at dawn.
This supposed “fated mates author” has made it really difficult for me to ship Elain with her mate when a much more compatible option is right there. Four books with moments that solidify Azriel as the person for Elain, mate or not.

SJM wrote the book like this 👆 for a reason
Elriel endgame đŸ€·â€â™€ïž
Feyre watching Lucien and Elain together : « It was the most uncomfortable thirty minutes I could recall »
Feyre watching Azriel and Elain together : « Why not make them mates? »
Feyre imagining Lucien and Elain together : « I shook my head, trying not to imagine Elain subject to that
 fire. »
Feyre imagining Azriel and Elain together : « I smiled at the thought—at how handsome they would be together. »
Nesta to the idea of Lucien near to Elain : « If you bring that male anywhere near her, I’ll »
Nesta when Azriel is near to Elain : « Nesta monitored him like a hawk, but kept silent as Elain took his hand, and out they went »
Nesta noticing how Elain look at Azriel : « Then his gaze shifted to Elain, and though it was utterly neutral, something charged went through it. Between them. Elain’s breath caught slightly »
Nesta noticing how Elain look at Lucien : « Her brown eyes were wary. Usually, that look was reserved for Lucien. The male was definitely in the family room, »
Bonus : Nesta trusting Azriel with Elain’s safety :
« Nesta met his stare, knowing he was the only one aside from Feyre who could truly understand her hesitation. We won’t make the same mistake twice. She believed him » (Also, I always find it funny when she says that Azriel was the only one aside Feyre to understand her hesitation. No mention of Lucien)
Conclusion : Nesta and Feyre are Elriels.

Most people who are this controversial on SM are sad people.
Look past what they are saying and think about why they are saying it.
Most likely reason is something wrong with them not the characters.
To sum up the ACOTAR Subreddit:
Characters who have been assholes their entire 500 year old lives are sweet misunderstood angels.
3 human sisters turned fae that haven't even turned 30 made some mistakes that aren't even a fraction as bad compared to their fae counterparts are unforgivable demons.
Fuck off.
