Marcas Mac an T on twitter:
A bilingual sign tells you more than just where you need to go.
It tells you a country has more than one native language.
It tells you how the names for places are connected, or sometimes not, between languages.
It teaches you what others call that place in their language.

100 Days Challendge for Langblrs
Day 4 Today I want to listen ‘Day6 - I Need Somebody’ to learn new words ~ But now I write only text without translation because I want to sleep a little, so I will do it tomorrow 🙈
Hello 거기 누구 없나
Where is
내게 대답 하나 해줄 누군가
Is anyone there?
사라져 점점 소리 없이
내게서 아무 이유 없이
혹시나 전부다 착각인 건지
꿈속에서 서로가 서로를 보는 건지
Why am I alone?
나를 둘러싼 사람들 속에
Why am I alone?
홀로 남겨진 지금 누군가 필요해
지금 누군가 필요해
Hello 아무도 없나요
나를 받아줄 사람은 여기
Is anyone here?
다가와 내게 소리 없이
잡아줘 아무 이유 없이
Why am I alone?
나를 둘러싼 사람들 속에
Why am I alone?
홀로 남겨진 지금 누군가 필요해
지금 누군가 필요해
Ye 침묵을 지키는 사이에
모두를 떠나 보낸 듯 해
내 머릿속에 울리는 siren
확실히 이건 아닌 듯 해
침묵을 지키는 사이에
모두를 떠나 보낸 듯 해
Oh now I got to do something
Why am I alone?
나를 둘러싼 사람들 속에
Why am I alone?
홀로 남겨진 지금 누군가 필요해
지금 누군가 필요해
지금 누군가 필요해

LION KING
Lyrics
Nants ingonyama bagithi baba (there comes a lion) Sithi uhhmm ingonyama (oh yes, it's a lion) Nants ingonyama bagithi baba (there comes a lion) Sithi uhhmm ingonyama (oh yes, it's a lion) Ingonyama Siyo nqoba (we're going to conquer) Ingonyama Ingonyama nengw' enamabaal (it's a lion and a tiger) [repeats 5] Ingonyama nengw' enamabala (se-to-kwa!) Ingonyama nengw' enamabala (asana)From the day we arrive on the planet And, blinking, step into the sun There's more to see than can ever be seen More to do than can ever be done There's far too much to take in here More to find than can ever be found But the sun rolling high Through the sapphire sky Keeps great and small on the endless round It's the circle of life And it moves us all Through despair and hope Through faith and love Till we find our place On the path unwinding In the circle The circle of lifeIt's the circle of life And it moves us all Through despair and hope Through faith and love Till we find our place On the path unwinding In the circle The circle of life

How to actually learn new words in a language: Learning by examples #1
Many people on langblr, including myself, regret not actually learning the words from the word lists we reblog, and there are two main reasons why.
1) We save them for later, when we have more time and focus, but we all know we’re probably never going back to them.
2) We don’t use them in sentences. It has been proven that we remember things better if we have a certain context, or, rather, we will memorize a usage of a word in a sentence better than just the word itself.
I obviously can’t make anybody scroll through endless words on their blog, but I can make a post that will do the ‘dirty work’ of my teachers. What I mean is that I hated when my language teachers used to make me write five different sentences to illustrate the usage of a word and remember it better - it was hideous sometimes. Now that I’m learning Swedish, a language that differs from what I’m used to, I had to apply this, for example, to memorize the word uppmärksamhet, which means ‘attention’, so I wrote a few typical sentences like 'Tack för uppmärksamheten’ (Thanks for the attention) or a definition of the word in Swedish, because it was composed of words I knew already. There’s no need to make it complicated, make it as simple as possible so that you can remember it. Also, writing it will help you go through all of the letters, so you’ll have to concentrate more on the structure of the word.
Now, it would be insane to write sentences for every word in a list, so I am offering a little help. I will post some words in some languages I speak or am learning that might be unusual, and you can answer in the comments or as a reblog with your examples for the chosen word. Some words will also be very simple, if there are any beginners here. 😊
This first time you won’t even have to look for the meanings yourself, though that way you would remember even better. If you think just too much work - let me know, and I will always add meanings in the future.
To make this easier to find I’ll call these posts «Learning by examples #[insert number]» and there will also be a hashtag #learning by examples.
French
Cependant, adv. - during
Unvraisemblablement, adv. - unbelievably
Mensonge, n. - lie
Swedish
Ovanlig, adj. - unusual
Plötsligt, adv. - suddenly
(en) dator, n. - computer
English
Propitiate, v. - win the favour of a god
Inadvertently, adv. - without intention
Extrapolate, v. - make a conclusion
Latin
I’m just kidding
But if you’re really into it, this verb has popped up in my head today for no reason…
Emo, emere, emi, emptum - to buy
Have fun!
