Eclipse asks Sonic for advice how to break through to Shadow. He wants things to be better between them and not always a fight or arguement.

Sonic suggests doing nice things for Shadow, so Eclipse tries. Bringing Shadow random coffee beans because he knows Shadow loves them, giving him compliments.

Shadow is just confused and suspicious.

so you mentioned you wanted Eclipse to get a redemption arc, if you had been in charge of it, how would you have handled that?

Personally I'd have had him meet Sonic. (Kinda mashing different media and characterizations and my own head canons together here but) If Sonic is willing to give Eggman of all people a chance to change and do better I feel like he would be the FIRST person to go "Hey, this guy is Fucked Up and doesn't seem to know how to be better even though he might want to"

Like, Sonic realizes that Eclipse is not beyond saving and so he wants to help him as best he can, but I feel like he'd only really be able to do that once Eclipse is so just worn down by everything that he's just like "okay I don't know what I'm doing and I need help" yk??

Speaking on the first part as someone who’s got a younger sibling I can definitely see Eclipse being the type to cause problems to try and get Shadow’s attention and then get aggravated that Shadow is upset with him hsnfnsfnsjcj

And Shadow being all pissed off Sonic is giving Eclipse attention would be funny as fuck because it could either go as “Uhh that’s my sibling you can go fuck off” or “my bitchass little brother is stealing my rival’s attention from me”
