Moon's character was destroyed by the love triangle. She should have stayed as a single, anxious, paranoid character, and her arc should have been about her learning to cope with her social issues and recover, not her being a plot device and literal object for two boys to argue over. She lost all character as soon as the dumb love triangle was introduced, and I'm genuinely angry at Tui for taking away the real, book 6 Moon that we all fell in love with.

WoF NightWings Avoid Sun for Scales Headcanon

Headcanon time.

So we all know that NightWings are meant to be nocturnal, meaning they seem to prefer the night to be awake and active instead of the sunny day time. 

One reason for this behavior was to avoid their dark, black scales from dulling out from the sunshine.

NightWings with grayer scales are usually ones who spend more time out in the sun, causing their scales to dull over time. Another effect would be that the silver star scales on their wings and neck become brighter, to a near white. Alternatively, NightWings who spend the least amount of time in the sun are darker and sometimes become pure black. The right amount of sun could bring out more colors in the scales also, but too much sun can take away all colors. 

You can sometimes tell if a NightWing ever spends time out in the sun depending on how dark or light their scales are.

I read Wings of Fire because Faustinator told me to. It turns out they’re actually somehow really good? Like man I haven’t enjoyed reading this much since I read Percy Jackson in the 11th grade. The only downside is there are no gay dragons yet, but I’m only on book 2 out of like 7 so theres still time

Anyways here are the main characters with a lot of creative liberties in their designs…

It’s literally all about dragons

It’s a world where Dragons took over as the dominant species and humans are just kinda appetizers and sometimes pets

It’s all about Dragon War and Dragon Culture and everything Dragon

The main characters are super great and it’s all about the power of teamwork and friendship
