Realism is the ULTIMATE art form
Realism is not the mindset of an artist but of an Hampartist. Hamparte is concept of taking nothing and turning it into nothing...

This artist makes people draw colorful dots on a white blank sheet and he sells this Hamparte for a lot of money. He thinks he invented polka dots.

A lot of people would look at this and say it’s smart, creative, it embodies a deep message. That’s what some people think when they see this; I however, see a pair of bloody glasses. Don’t get me wrong I’m wrong I’m sure there is meaning behind this peice but it’s mediocre at best in presentation and viewing. If this is considered art, I see why lost people think art is easy.

In the “artworks” above by Jose Davila and Elba Benitez, it’s easy to observe that the artists probably took just a few minutes to create the pieces and they’re easy to be made even by yourself. Besides the the simplicity of a piece, Villaran focuses more in the lack of talent and careless of the artist towards their “artworks”. You can create a big theory behind the piece but honestly how long it took you to create it? What were you efforts to accomplish the piece of art? Did you need years of experience to get at this point?

Where Hamparte comes from?
Concept originally created by the Spanish artist and writer Antonio García Villarán, Hamparte is a word used for him to describe works from artist that claim to make “artworks” although actually they’re not art.

Hamparte
Have you ever gone to an art museum and thought “so this is art huh? It must be art! Otherwise it wouldn’t be shown in an art museum right?”. Well you might be wrong thinking that something is art just by the fact that a piece is exhibited in an art exposition or sold for an immense amount of money; not all that glitters is gold.
Everything evolves in this world depending on the age, social movements, and discoveries people have made in order to develop new concepts. In this case, the transition of art through time has coined this new concept: Hamparte.
