So we only ever see people use Karins healing ability but leave imprints in the skin. We dont ever see them break skin.

Do you think if someone did bite her hard enough to break skin it could actually be dangerous cuz thered be too much chakra being taken? Like overloading a socket the person wouldnt heal theyd just be scorched or something from too much being taken in?

Errands were always the worst thing that Karin had to do. Rather she stay in her lab continuing her research all day and night not dealing with the otherwise simple minded people that resided in most villages. Intelligence was something severely lacking within the walls of each village with only minor exceptions. Still, she had to come back to collect some items she recorded as missing that the intelligence agency should have. Seeing as she was finally able to move out from her temporary home within the village’s walls to a different more secluded place it was only right to collect what did belong to her. . . that and her lockpicks weren’t cheap to come by.

“ You have to be kidding me. “ She scoffed seeing the other man walk up to her. Thinking she would get to have an easy day for once having to do her community service garbage. The last time they had interacted didn’t end well and while she was ashamed for getting emotional she didn’t want to have to deal with him again. He’s clearly opted out of dealing with her medical research and that was that. Why he was here was beyond Karin and with every step closer she was becoming further annoyed.

This was probably one of the most strange interaction she’s had all week. Staring at this person Karin couldn’t pinpoint where she’s seen him before. Brows furrowed she tries to remember as where she might have seen this man’s odd features before. Certainly he would be memorable with the fact he wears a very bright blue color, silver hair, and . . . fur? For whatever reason. That only drew up further questions which made Karin’s face twist in further confusion. Out of all the places to wear fur, why would someone chose the land of Fire? It’s almost as bad as choosing to do so in the desert. Karin can’t even remember the last time it snowed in this country let alone got cold enough to justify needing fur.

Despite being lost in her thoughts she would eventually speak up, not bothering to care how she was being rude staring at him to begin with. “ Do I know you? “ She’d inquire, very bluntly.

   A parroted scoff of his own ( either from her insinuation that he didn’t qualify as ‘good looking’ or hearing the word ‘Lord’ preceding his nemesis’ name ) before he raises his chin in a proud, supercilious manner as if her doubts were ludicrous.

She pauses, furrowing her brow in confusion. “ Why does everyone believe he did weird experiments on me? “ Sure, he did some, but by all means she got off easy due to her regenerative ability. One couldn’t push her too hard lest she die from over exertion and she was crucial to keeping so many others alive it wasn’t worth the risk. Not to mention she was one of the last of her clan, so little was known about her risking her death in experiments only made it less worth any discovery they could find.

Sakura blinked. She did not want to question how the hell lack of money wasn’t a stopping point in Karin’s perspective and actively chose to ignore the thought of how one would remodel an entire building without the funds to do so. She didn’t think doing math would be exactly helpful here, though Sakura also wondered if anything was. Karin’s stubbornness was a force to be reckoned with and it was getting on Sakura’s every last nerve - being quite hardheaded herself, not that she would admit it. 

“And HOW, exactly, is you just griping and complaining about everything supposed to be helpful? I’m not trying to shoulder everything, didn’t I just tell you to go complain to the Hokage yourself? There you go. I call that delegating,” Sakura argued with attitude in her voice, which was certainly not helping her case at all. It had to be an Uzumaki thing, this ability of making Sakura lose her cool. She let out a scoff. 

“Service? What service? I hear you complaining, I don’t hear you offering anything actually helpful. Are you going to remodel the hospital with your own two hands? I told you I’d show you the labs and you just keep on going on, and on, and on. I don’t know where else you plan on growing organs.” Tch. Frankly, Sakura was exhibiting a commendable amount of patience, all things considered. “I think you’re forgetting another part the agreement - you’re gonna have to play by the rules. And that means not using whatever methods you’re used to in order to obtain tech without paying for it. Don’t let it out on me that things here don’t work the way you’re familiar with.” Arms crossed, Sakura narrowed her eyes at Karin while she walked away. A lost cause. Sakura would not beg for her to follow. 

“Same goes to you. You know where to find me once you realize I have a key to the labs and you’re not authorized there on your own.”

“ Our technology from Otogakure is more than sufficient to do what we need. Your village has allowed us to remodel and recreate our own labs with the resources we procure. By all means, we are playing by your rules. Our current experiments are done as morally as physically possible especially as we offer ourselves as first willing test subjects. You hold the key to all the labs within this nation but not within our borders. “ Karin didn’t understand how Sakura couldn’t see exactly what she was doing. Pointing out possible flaws she did not see in her own methodology did nothing but help point out the weaknesses within her own arguments.

It had taken convincing from the majority of Lord Orochimaru and even with the help of some villagers who didn’t want the sanin stalking around in his creepy manor that they were allowed a tad more freedom. Of course they were still to be escorted anywhere if they left the village but it was some freedom nonetheless. Still she hated having to come back here to help.

How backwards this place was. When Karin had first been dragged here she could hardly believe just how primitive everything was here. Using such inefficient electric lines, sloppily designed hideouts and architecture, how people didn’t get lost finding the damned hospital was beyond Karin as every street seemed to change from day to day.

For now she could at least head to the Hokage’s office and inform them that her help wasn’t wanted and could return home as swiftly as possible. Perhaps even taking Sakura’s advice to advocate for more medicinal funding for the hospital if she is having such trivial issues. If anyone knew just how important science and especially medicinal science was, it would be Karin, who has been working within this field since she was a child.

Taking a pause, it was clear this was a rehearsed saying. Whether their intensions were good or not was questionable but the fact they were willing to share their findings now instead of keeping them hidden did show some kind of good will.

“ As of now we are experimenting with organ farming. Growing and creating replacement organs for people who either are diseased or need a replacement for whatever reason. With this also comes better prosthetics that should work perfectly with whomever they are given to. Our only drawback at this moment is ensuring the new organs and body parts are able to withstand various jutsus without failing or some kind of rejection from the body as chakra flows through it. “

“ Along with that we have been studying gene splicing within plants to allow new breeds of harvestable crops to be spread and given to other villages who may find it difficult to farm within their own lands. Such as this village, and we would offer our services to create a new line of genetic variant crops that would withstand the harsh environment of your land. “

Another pause as to not overwhelm him with too much information at once, but once it looked as if he understood she would continue. “ What could be offered in return is up to you. I have come here to ensure good will between our villages and a possible, even if loose, allyship to help show the rest of the nations we are not another malicious force that Otogakure had first been established as. Lord Orochimaru thought to offer your village first as we had once been allies before. “

I have no doubt that my subordinates did not calculate how quickly I can move alone. “ Adjusting her glasses she’d get a better look at the Kage, raising a brow at his bow but nodding to acknowledge it. Waiting outside wasn’t too unbearable. The sand and stone walls reminded her of the old hideouts she had lived in for so long and she would take the short time to get a good look at how it seemed to be constructed. While she was no expert in it she had to learn something when setting up the plans for her labratory.

Turning her head back to the Kage as he came back she nodded once more. “ Yes. I am Karin, you must be Kazekage Gaara if my information is correct. You have been the Kage for some time now and your village has thrived under your leadership in not only budding wealth but improvements upon it’s relations with other nations. “

Following him to the next room she’d shrug her shoulders. “ I have endured worse conditions and had packed adequate supplies to endure any emergency situation. Is there anything specifically that you are inquiring about Otogakure? Or would you rather I give the formal introduction as to why I am here and what to discuss of nation relations and other broad formalities. “
