one thing that i really enjoy about suits is its accurate depiction of how important being surface-level polite is, in corporate environments and harvey is the prime example of that; for most of the series he is rude, blunt, harsh and tactless and he suffers greatly from it. there are so many characters that are ready to inconvenience him just because he was an asshole to them and there are so many moments where acting politely would have saved him so much trouble. it's also the reason why, before meeting jessica, harvey wasn't doing well in corporate because it is only the protection that jessica (the managing partner of the studio) provides that allows him to be successful while acting like that; without her excusing and justifying his behaviour no one would see past his rudeness despite his undeniable talent. if there is one thing that we can learn from suits is that in many situations, mostly in a work environment, being remarkable is secondary to being palatable.
