The moment of yesterday's (April 29, 2024) strike on Odesa, Ukraine.
This is completely civilian area. It's a downtown beach. I walked there many times when I was in Odesa - this area has many public recreational spaces, many kids usually play there, ppl walk their dogs, there are bicycle tracks and many ppl jog there in the morning.
Russia used a ballistic missile filled with cluster munitions on the area. Pure evil. Just to kill as many civilians as possible.
(for those of you unaware, cluster munitions are basically small metal pieces (smaller than your palm) - which a missile is filled with by millions. When the missile strikes the target and blows up, those little but hard and heavy metal pieces are thrown all around in a kilometer radius with huge speed, acting like bullets. On the battlefield, cluster munitions are used specifically for wounding as many enemy soldiers as possible, as they are almost useless for damaging anything non-living - hence they are prohibited by Geneva conventions even for the battlefield)
Today is Armenian genocide remembrance day. On april 24, 1915 started mass deportations of hundreds of Armenian intelectuals and community leaders, who were (most of the time) eventually killed. Armenian women and children were systematically r//ed and forcibly converted into islam. There were more than 2 milion Armenians in ottoman empire prior to ww1, 1,5 milion of them were viciously killed. Three millennia of Armenian civilaziation in eastern Anatolis was fully destroyed. Turkey today refuses to acknowledge genocides of christian minorities in early 20th century.
Do you know that mass ethnic cleansing of Armenians in ottoman empire inspired Lemkin to coin the term 'genocide'?
Last year in september azerbaijan allied with turkey initiated a war against Armenia. More that 5000 Armenians were murdered, thousands of Armenia families had to live their ancestrial land to not get murdered. There are hundreds of vids on internet where armenian p.o.w.s are tortured. Recently azerbaijan opened a "museum" displayind dead or dying Armenians and kids were allowed to visit it.
Please educate yourself on Armenian genocide. You can also donate here to help Armenia. Thanks for reading!!

Local kids are collecting things that belonged to their dead friend.
Children drawings, a book on Chemistry and Math for the 7th grade - all that's left of a 14 year old girl.
In Synelnikove, Russian missile killed a whole family in their own house - a grandmother, her daughter and her two granddaughters - 14 and 8 years old. Doctors were able to reanimate the youngest child - a boy of 6.
This morning 3 russian missiles hit the center of Chernihiv, one of the oldest cities in Ukraine and Europe. At least 11 people were killed and 22 injured, the rescue mission is still going, so the numbers will rise.
Best Pali orgs to donate to at this time? Am thinking PCRF.
don't donate to orgs right now, donate to people. gazans need huge funds to evacuate to egypt, get treatment, buy food and other necessities. it is the most urgent and the best way your money can have the most impact.
