Pocket Chocolate , Chapter 5: Just to have you

*FLASHBACK*

5th grade, in classroom, Valentines day

Mark can remember the first time he ever felt that feeling towards another person because of you. It was the annual Valentines day party and everyone had to bring something plus valentines for the class. The class made bags to attach to the end of the desk so when the time came people could throw their candy, cookies or other goodies from home they brought for the class. Mark and his mom made fresh baked sugar cookies with pink and red coarse sugar on top. Mark attatched little cards with cheesy valentines day puns he came up with himself. Then this kid Rodney Rogers walks in with a tray of cookies as big as faces. And monogramed with each classmates initials. He walks over to you and places a cookie inside your bag. "I made this one special for you Y/N" he says then he gets to mark and hands Mark the most broken up and mangled cookie in the tray. "Sorry Minhyung yours must have gotten broken up in transit." He snickers while Mark just glares at him. Images of Rodney Rogers slipping that cookie in your bag played in his head over and over again. His giggle like a broken record. And your smile. Your smile is what broke his heart. The fact that the meanest most vile person in class could make you smile and even had the privilege of seeing your beautiful glowing smile. It made the little green monster appear. And that little green monster is what we call Jealousy.

*PRESENT DAY*

Coffee Shop

Mark wanted to play cool but he didn't like Minjae. Not because Minjae was a bad person but because he was with you. He was Jealous plainly. He was Jealous because he did not want anyone else to bask in your presence but him. It's just as impossible as it is immature. As beautiful and likable as you are it is remotely impossible for men and women alike not to take a liking to you and want to be around you. But jealousy can sometimes be strong enough to cloud rationality. So it did the same for Mark. He meant no harm. He was just jealous.

Mark: So what brings you here Y/N ?

Y/N: I was just studying with Minjae....

Minjae: Hi, nice to meet you *puts out hand for handshake*

Mark: *Just looks at Minjae and his extended hand and turns his attention back to you* Yeah so Y/N can we talk somewhere for a second ? In private ? * puts emphasis on Private*

Y/N: Yeah sure Mark, Excuse me for a second Minjae.

Minjae: Sure, take your time.

You get up from the table both you and Mark walking away from Minjae over to a small corner in the coffee shop.

Mark: Who is that guy ?!

Y/N: Are you serious right now ?

Mark: Yes, I'm serious do you even know who this guy is ?!

Y/N: Do you !?

Mark: No but that's the point Y/N. I just don't want anything to happen to you Y/N.

Y/N: Mark I'm fine. We're just partners. Nothing more, nothing less so don't worry okay ?

Mark: Okay, but I want you to know if anything happens-...

Y/N: Yeah Yeah lion of the jungle *rawr* all of that can I please get back to studying with my partner ?

Mark: Fine. Just remember...... I care about you Y/N and I won’t let anyone hurt you.

Y/N: I know Mark, Thank you. * Forms heart shape with her hands towards Mark and smiles*

Mark slowly walks backwards watching as you fade away little by little with his steps before he proceeds to turn around and walk out the cafe. You were always the only person that mattered to him and he just couldn’t see you with someone else. It hurt him deeply that you we’re laughing and talking and smiling with someone else. It wasn’t that he wanted you all to himself he knew he dad to share you with others like your friends. Just not with any other guy whether you thought of them that way or not he couldn’t stand it.

Minjae: So what do you think of this Y/N ?I feel like it will work really well with all that we have right now.

Y/N: I think we have the right Idea but, the statistics are a bit biased it seems to me. We want to to have a fair and neutral outlook on buying stock and investing in larger companies. These studies lean more towards and almost makes it seem as if one is stupid for not doing so if they haven’t already.

Minjae: I agree,one says that over 80% of stock holders see residual profit in under 2-3 years. I’ve seen people do this long enough to know that that is unrealistic. wildly unrealistic.

Y/N: Yeah, see it’s self serving. Companies just want people to invest to generate more profit. It’s like the lottery. So many people are buying stock in corporate giants such as Nike, Google, etc.by the time they do go out of business if at any time people may get back like 500$ per person..

Minjae: Yeah that’s why If I put my money in anything, I wanna put it in something I know I will be able to profit from. I do small time real estate. My family have a few properties scattered around in the states. And my father has some really good business relationships with some people that work in the big 3.

Y/N: The big 3 ? like as in the entertainment companies ?

Minjae: Yep, YG, JYP, and SM.

Y/N: Wow, your parents must be some really influential people.

Minjae: Yeah they’re pretty cool. They know alot of people and they can help me get things done. Maybe even help me help you with anything you might need.

Y/N: Well.....nevermind that would be absurd plus it would probably never happen.

Minjae: Tell me, you never know. I might be able to make it happen.

Y/N: Well for my project I wanted to look at the world of K-pop from a financial perspective. And how it is marketable and how it has groomed itself to be this huge billion dollar industry. And I wanna interview EXO the group but I know that’s completely far fetched.

Minjae: Maybe not, I’ll talk to my dad his brother and his golfing buddy work in the A&R department. My cousin is also good friends with their manager.

Y/N: Really ? Oh my gosh thank you Minjae. I don’t know how I’ll ever be able to repay you.

Minjae: Don’t worry about that right now. I want you to get a good grade on this project and  I want you to have fun doing it too.

Y/N: Thanks so much Minjae, I’m so excited I can’t wait to go tell all my friends.

You busted out of the cafe with your things in hand. Running wildly towards the horizon feeling like a kid again. Minjae not being able to help but watch you fade into the setting sun with a small grin creeping across his face. He was glad to see you happy. Knowing he could make good on his promise he wasn’t stressed about it. You find yourself less than two blocks away from NCT dorm. You finally make it to the gate then to their front door. You knock and  johnny is standing tall right in front of you with the door opened consuming a bowl of fruit.

Johnny: Oh hey Y/N, what brings you by.

Y/N: Hi Johnny, I’m looking for Mark I need to tell him something.

Johnny: Come on in he’s sitting on the couch over there (allows you to pass as he throws a grape in his mouth)

Johnny; (closes front door) I’m gonna let you two love birds have your privacy.

(says through a smile)

You both laugh in unison. You turn to Mark to face him so you can look him directly in the eye while you let out all of your excitement in the form of words. You talk so fast it feels like your tongue is just going to break. You smile the whole time and breathe heavy trying to get every last word out. Mark just sits and calmly listens with a half smile. Midway through your whole spill Mark stops you to focus on one detail. 

Y/N: Oh Mark, Minjae is so nice he’s gonna try and get me an interview with EXO and-

Mark: What ?

Y/N: yeah Mark, It’s EXO and Iv’e always  wanted to be in the same room with them let alone ask them questions.

Mark: How come you didn’t ask me ?, Those are my hyungs I could’ve definitely gotten you the time you needed with them.

Y/N: Sorry Mark you kind of slipped my mind.

Mark: I guess so,  All of a sudden this Minjae guy comes around and I become invisible.

Y/N: Whoa Mark, first of all that’s not true and you know that, I would never ditch my friends for a guy especially a guy who I’m just working on a project with.

Mark: Are you sure about that, cause now it’s just I gotta get back to Minjae and my project, and Minjae is gonna do this and that and Me and Minjae and blah blah blah.

Y/N: Mark how could you say, you know i care about you

Mark: You don’t act like it Y/N

Y/N: Where is all of this coming from ?, Mark are you serious right now ?

Mark: As a heart attack

Y/N: Mark this isn’t fair you know I care about you I’m your best friend why are you doing this to me. *tears well up in her eyes*

Mark: I knew you cared about me, at least I thought you did.

Y/N: Mark * almost with a week whispering tone*

Mark; I think you should leave Y/N

Y/N: FIne. *grabs her stuff angrily and walks out the door slamming it*

Johnny: Trouble in Paradise ?

Mark: Not now Johnny hyung ?

Johnny: ...You really gotta sit down and have a long talk with that little green monster inside of you.

Mark: I don't wanna HEAR IT JOHNNY!

Mark gets up angrily from the couch goes in the room and slams the door behind him. He allows his body to crash into the bed and grabs a pillow to scream into. He knows how he treated you over Minjae was messed up but he couldn't bare the thought of you eventually wanting to be with him. That is if you even wanted to. Mark wasn't necessarily sure of himself or his relationship with you. What he needed most of all at that moment was assurance

I’m BACK! I know it's been ages and I came out of nowhere but I honestly had to sort some stuff out so I could come back with a clear head and a clear schedule. I really hope you guys enjoy this chapter of Pocket Chocolate as there are many more to come

She never liked the idea of being in love, or the fact that people get weak and be so vulnerable. She can't grasp that. But I realized she loved once. She probably has and it turned on her, and now she's scared to go through it again. I asked her about it. She admitted that she once loved, and now she doesn't know how to anymore. But I asked her if we can try again. I told her, "I can fix that.." "I hope you can," she said "because I really like you.."
