Ted probably get arrested in 2030 instead of 2006  because Marshall will be in Washington dc with Lily as a supreme court judge. Penny wanted  her uncle barney to prove his friendship to her dad by bailing him out of jail because people do stupid things for love. Barney bailed  ted out of jail  after three days and gave him his blessing to date robin  because they try to reconcile after the divorce and realize they are better as friends.  Robin rejected ted offer to become a couple again because  she still loves barney  and wanted to be his girlfriend living with him instead of being a roommate.

What if ted get arrested for theft because he stole a blue french horn from a restaurant?

Lol well that would’ve made the blue french horn story more iconic and funny.

But over all I don’t think anything to bad would’ve happened, and assuming that’s his first offense. He probably would’ve had to pay a fine or do community service, and most likely been banned for the restaurant.
