another character for my comic idea, A Long Walk Home! 

this is margaret, the minor character in the spring arc of the story. she bakes a lot 

#here's my first pass at margaret! #her.....idk what theyre called but the thing on the side of her head used to be way more droopy #plus i hadnt quite got a hold of using her top eyes for expression yet. the item in her pouch was a bit of wheat and not a spoon #and most notably her top set of arms dont have a “thumb”! #but otherwise she's stayed mostly the same #pretty sure i decided her vibe and old profesiso very early on #concept art #not an update #margaret

#next week rb #ive finished all of arc 1 btw!! so we have a bunch of scenes i nthe backlog <3 #im working on a little in between illustration for arc 1 and 2 as we speak #then next week im gonna work o nthe cover for arc 2 and storyboard some of arc 3 #then i;ll be sarting to draw that! #still 5 mor arc 1 scenes to actualy post here though ehehe i like beign ahead as much as possible

whipped up a little height chart for the arc 1 characters in me comic! it should help whilst i get to the lining of scenes!

#hee's a nice ref i did no too long back! #its mostly accurate- though wizards shkin is darker here bc i was deciding between two tones and hadt quite chosen which would fit best yet #i actually forgot to adjust that for the arc 2 height chart too lol despte having coloured wizard a bunch before making that #wizards also goten a little bit taller in geeral proportion wise as ive been drawing them so whilst this is mostly accurate #both they and margaret might be a little short #[also belatedly notices to self that in most of the concept arts margarets apron is more narrow and doesnt cover the whole torso] huh #ah well #thats the fu thing abt a comic isnt it like. what subconscious design changes u make bc its easier or more intuitive to draw #heck wizard still has 4 stars on their front here and not 3 lol. 3 just..fits better with my brush size in the comic #not an update #concept art #wizard #margaret #the guardian

another a long walk home concept piece! here’s the corner of a tailors the goobs visit in the silkwoods 

#here's my first go at the tailors wizard and the guardian visit! #as u can see it changed quite a bit #the flooring material wasdifferent here- as were the colours #but it did have a nice cluttered feleign that i did try to translate the best i could to the comic #and the hangingn cloths and rugs and banners!! #should drawn in some of those blnket piles but ah well fkjnjkds

bit more prep for a long walk home, this time in architecture form! these little structures are entrances to homes/businesses in the silkwoods, the kingdom we're in in arc 1!

#here's these structures that we saw last scene and the scene before it! #i always had a pretty strong image in my mind of what i wanted theseto look like #gazebo with stars/rope goinng down into the earth lol #the ones in the scene had a tiny bit less detail than some of these but i stll tried to transfer my favouite designs into it! #we pass the grape one in the last scene- the 3rd oen is ltierally the tailors we visit #i did variation on the 1st and2nd ones in the scene before last #fun fact! the little egg symbol some of them have o nthat light brown verical piece of wood means its a residentail home! #so the symbol on the main bit of light brown wood is the family crest!! #concept art #not an update

been working on some concept art for a long walk home! whilst i dont think this is the style the comic will be in, i wanted something nice and clear so i can still get down the vibes and sights we’ll see!

here's the first picture i ever did of wizard! a bunch has changed since then, i'll talk abt that in the tags a little!

here’s a character for a comic i would like to make one day! they just go by ‘the wizard’ or ‘wizard’ (wiz if they let you)

#not a update #for starters theyre so short here! i like the vibes of it but its a little more suited to an indie game i think than a comic #where i need them to be able like...more around. sit. gesture etc gksnsgndsngkjs ot tht u wouldnt for a gmae but still #this also goes for ther cloak- this cloak goes all the way aroudn instead of a poncho style one #so if i wanted to draw their arms i'd have to pull their cloak up each time! very inconvienient!! #you might also otice they have no mouth! it suted the very early development stages where it ws like #we slowly trvel to places and wizard talks abt whts different since the last time they were here #but for more concrete narrative i'd like them to be able to like...make expressions lol #hence making their eyes a bit smaller too so we can see their brows #man ad they dotn eve have eye bags here! #wizard #oh ad thats a thing too! i dropped 'the wizard' and 'wiz' entirely its just wizard now lol #i do still like this design though its very cute and i think would hve worked if wizard was a little less gruff #and if i had stuck very very close to my hollow knight inspo

right, i ws thinking during the time betwee updates, i can reblog some of my concept art for the comic here! half of you have probably already seen it, but i dont think everyone has! i'll probably put some notes on things that have changed in the tags and all that!

i was also thinking of adding a little locations/world header to the top of the blog on desktop, like the characters one, but for the places we've been, so relevent info is there, and also a few notes about the places that could't fit into the comic! that's if i have enough room on the header section above eheh, i'll have to see. if not, i'll try to find another place for it!
