When you are alone and have a heart attack. What are you gonna do then?

Take a 2 minute break and read this:

Let's say it's 5:25 pm and you're driving home after an unusually hard day's work.

You are really tired and frustrated. All of a sudden your chest pains. They are starting to radiate in the arm and jaw. It feels like being stabbed in the chest and heart. You're only a few miles away from the nearest hospital or home.

Unfortunately you don't know if you can make it..

Maybe you've taken CPR training, but the person running the course hasn't told you how to help yourself.

How do you survive a heart attack when you're alone when it happens? A person who is feeling weak and whose heart is beating hard has only about 10 seconds before losing consciousness.

1. But you can help yourself by coughing repeatedly and very strongly! Deep breaths before every cough. Coughing should be repeated every second until you arrive at the hospital or until your heart starts to beat normally.

2. Deep breathing gives oxygen to your lungs and coughing movements boost the heart and blood circulation. Heart pressure also helps to restore a normal heartbeat. Here's how cardiac arrest victims can make it to the hospital for the right treatment

3. Cardiologists say if someone gets this message and passes it on to 10 people, we can expect to save at least one life.

4. FOR WOMEN: You should know that women have additional and different symptoms. Rarely have crushing chest pain or pain in the arms. Often have indigestion and tightness across the back at the bra line plus sudden fatigue.

So today I got a rather unkind comment on AO3 (one could call it hate), but I believe it to be a bot for several reasons:

Guest account, but username attached

Said username exists but person is unlikely to be reading Tolkien fic (according to their Tumblr and AO3, they are in other fandoms)

Two grammatically correct sentences

Super generic text that could apply to any fic:

"I've seen better fanfiction written by a toddler. Get it together!"

I'm curious, did anyone else get comments like this? Let me know.

And to those who have gotten rude comments and are now worried/upset: Maybe it was just a bot too. Either way: You're awesome for putting your writing out there for others to enjoy and you don't deserve to get rude comments for it. If you want feel free to message me to compare cases and discuss details :)

To celebrate the debut of Variations and for over 600 followers on insta, I figured that we should do something special ^^

DTIYS RULES: 1) You can change the composition, pose, and lighting of this piece! You can use either Avery’s dancer’s uniform or the outfit in the reference provided. You can keep the reflection concept, but you can also change it up. As long as Avery’s in the piece!

No Variations update this week, sorry! It might be a little bit of time before I'm able to get back to posting pages, but I am Dead Set on finishing the chunk that I've already sketched out. I have a few finals to take so my brainpower is mostly being deviated towards those things >.< We haven't gotten very far into the project, so I can't really talk much about particular details to stave off spoilers, but my ask box is always open for any observations or questions. (I love talking about my blorbos. i will unleash a torrent of words onto you !!) Recently, I've been able to delineate some more stuff regarding Variations and Horsemen's beats, so it's easier for me to talk about characters and whatnot without actually spoiling things !! which is very exciting.

What kind of environments do your characters like relaxing in the most?

Morgan likes to read for fun. Preferably, there's a cup of tea on hand. I like to think that he also takes leisurely strolls around the city. Erin is definitely the type of person who goes to the gym really early in the morning or really late at night to avoid the crowds when she needs to clear her head. Saito doesn't relax. She doesn't know such a thing anymore. She's constantly in motion- something something never ending state of perpetual movement.

Dana is very people-oriented. I think that she likes to call up a friend to go out to a cafe, or to make food together. In general, Avery is all about nature and stillness. He doesn't like crowds and prefers open skies, clear air, and the great outdoors...

except when he doesn't. 'Cause Avery thrives in independent but dynamic social situations where he's able to indulge in picking apart the facades of others and identifying exactly what they want and what makes them tick...

except that Avery prefers being hidden in a sea of people where he can't be touched or perceived. He finds comfort in anonymity and has an irrational fear of being "found out" by someone who might care about him enough. Closeness creates a call for danger, and Avery is afraid of hurting people that he yearns to love-

except that Avery's favorite moments are those that he spends with his favorite people. He thrives on connection and is desperate to be a reliable person and friend. He's always willing to help with something, maybe even to his own detriment--

Hmm. When it comes to Avery, I guess we actually don't really know.
