“You know, dancers frequently dream about dancing. You dream you do eleven pirouettes or you do this grand jeté, never coming down. I didn’t dream of doing a million pirouettes. I dreamt that I was in class and doing a grand plié. That’s all I wanted. I had that dream twice. So when I went back to ballet class the first time after the surgery, I remember doing a grand plié and thinking this really isn’t a dream. I am really here this time and it was really moving. It was something.”
